I'm loving the Origins server. It feels just like 2004 launch. I'm almost max level after a month, and have met so many fun people during the process. If you're into the exp grind or having fun grouping with others, there are plenty of people to play with at all levels. Original launch feel!
Origins is still strong, would recommend anyone who wants to try it jump in. Seems to have more longevity than these past TLE servers, so you're not too late to join.
I haven't really seen any low level grouping going at all. Just your normal box groups. Plenty of larger guilds towards the cap, though, for those who can make it through the slush pile.
@@Renfail Mostly because anyone with a maxed main will just buy collections for their alts to blast through half of the levels, after that either burn vitality or log off and let vitality build while farming on main lol
@@Renfailoh so u are acting in bad faith here’s the proof i’ve been lvling really slowly due to work and my girlfriend just dinged 26 today and saw bunch lvl 9 groups forming and lvl13 groups at WC and BB if ur needing to group before lvl 8 it’s becuz ur not good at the game lol why don’t u stop sucking and come man up and lvl in a 2006 server lol go suck on kroma
@@Renfail At least on Freeport side I've been able to group regularly and I'm playing pretty casually. To be fair I am a tank so I'm often the core forming the group but it's been steady ^_^, I'm completely new to EQ2 and have been waiting for exactly this type of server
Yeah, I've actually seen some of your vanguard videos, actually I'm pretty sure the first video I watched on this channel was about the Vanguard emu server because I was interested in how far it's come. EverQuest was probably my favorite game of all time but I've done TLPs 3 different times now and I don't think I'll ever play that game again. I've completed my epics several times, I've done the Temple of Veeshan, and Vex Thal. I agree with you about the controller thing, I remember when I tried FFXI for the first time and being amazed that it actually played pretty well with a controller, unfortunately that was another game I missed out in it's prime but I did at least get to play it a bit during the 75 era before they raised the level cap and fundamentally changed the game. I don't actually mind paying a sub for a game, I'm an adult now and the fifteen a month really isn't an issue for me these days. I did take your advice to download the game and check out the live server just to get a look at it. It seems like something I would probably enjoy though I need to find a solution for the UI since it was clearly not made with 2160p in mind. Anyway, thanks for your answer.
Started shortly after launch, did 6yrs, Innoruk server which got merged into Crushbone. Ran guild named Inertia, not hard core raiding but we did pretty good.
I feel like that is bad advice, I think the Origins server is still going pretty strong and guilds are still inviting everyone. If you're having fun it's worth it and I am really enjoying toying around with alts. It's also a breath of fresh air because the live version of this game is...something else.
There is 9 months of shattered lands on origins, and the grind to 50 is quite a slog. We all have our opinions and Ren’s got his that’s totally fine, but my opinion is origins is a perfect server for a new or returning player, and you have most certainly not missed the boat on this one. My two cents.
I haven't played. I want to say since 2019,Guild was working through blood of lucin content, I played since release. I had 6 characters level 93ish, which could be higher, but not much. If I returned would I be able to use those characters or was the old Sony EQ accounts wiped?
I started MMOs 3 1/2 years ago with Black Desert Online , still currently play that , more recently Erkulez newer streamer on BDO introduced me to WoW Classic SOD , My husband was a WoW retail player but hasn’t played in a few years and got me on Retail which I enjoyed more Dragonflight to be exact and now War Within and I still play classic 1 night a week but Retails more my cup of Tea have been loving it though ATM can’t play temporarily 😢as my Brand new PC is getting repaired but ppl always talk about EQ2 in BDO and I remember it being around ,many playing it but due to college I missed out on both this & WoW. So here I am because I have been wondering if it’s something still worth getting into. I remember wanting to do this and WoW but never could irl responsibilities and medical degree was more important at that time for me. Ty for the video about to watch and will post any questions I have after watching that may remain.
No controller support for EQ2? That’s definitely a bummer. I too find it difficult to use mouse and keyboard these days due to back issues, so I was really hoping I could give it a try with a controller.
I'm playing this with a Steam Deck. If you can map your controller completely to mouse/keyboard inputs then you can still enjoy eq2. It does take some getting used to though.
Its not possible to play EQ2 Origin with Mercs, is it? I'd like the EQ/EQ2 classic love but want to play solo most of the time. Boxing on EQ classic is not as fun. So Mercs for EQ/EQ2 classic would just be what I need.
Nah it's a bad take to suggest that a month after a TLP comes out it's a bad time to join, REALLY bad take. That's a great time because people are grinding multiple toons to max level. It takes a good amount of time to even level 1 character. When the server has been open long enough for them to level many toons, THAT is ehen it's not a good idea because they are all at end game, so the newb areas won't have much for grouping.

I would so love a reload of SWTOR from scratch. Kinda would suck to loose all of the years of legacy unlocks but still would be nice to start over.

I've been telling my friends to wait for a new P99 server for almost 4 years now. In hindsight I feel like this was a mistake since one never came.
