Really appreciate your breaking all of this down. As a first year teacher I struggled with time. How were you able to keep the recap time so short a lot of my students felt rushed or frustrated when we had to move on or move forward in a topic if they weren't getting the previous stuff?
First of all thanks for the series, it’s really inspiring to see you working with so much energy and dedication…this is my first year teaching high school math( taught middle school for last 15 years) could you please share a sample video of your video lesson that you share with kids as notes for them to watch the night before…just wanted to get an idea how exactly you do it…Thanks!
Thank you so much! I’m gonna leave a link in this comment of the last video I did for my kids so you can see it first hand! th-cam.com/video/7DoEfK9sA9U/w-d-xo.html
It great that you discuss Canvas. We use Canvas in my district but most YT content is geared towards Google Classroom. Looking forwards to more of your videos, I'm a fan!
Of course! This is a video I actually send to my parents the first day of school so they can understand what I’m doing! th-cam.com/video/BCIxikOq73Q/w-d-xo.html
Great explanation! I teach 8th grade English and want to flip my classroom, but I feel like the lack of technology might hinder some of it. Hoping we truly become one to one this year.
Thank you! I think with English classes you could get away without technology! I also tell students my door is open before school for them to do notes in the morning before school if they need to!
I love how you use technology in your classroom! Our district uses Canvas as well, but I love how you created your landing page for each week. Do you mind doing a video on how you set up your page with the tabs?
Thank you! I really enjoy canvas! I didn’t make this one, but used a template I found in the commons. If you search agenda with tabs you’ll find a bunch you can use!
They’re usually front and back, but I don’t go through all of the notes in the video, I leave a couple problems blank as a jumping off point for the next day! My next video will be a lesson planning breakdown so I’ll show it all in there!
What grade level do you primarily teach? I have a lot of unmotivated seniors in my courses (specifically my 'consumer' math), so I am scared if I try this no one will do the home based work/ watch the videos. It is something I would love to integrate.
I teach 9th! So it’s an adjustment for that level as well. The biggest thing wild he consistency with the start of the year. I honestly could see older grades liking it even more because it really gives less homework overall!
I have very good students and I think they will do everything at home and they will come to school nd they finish the lesson dn practices. What I suppose to do ? This is great video
Thank you! You’ve really made flipping my classroom seem doable. I love the concrete steps!
Very informative! I like how you're thinking about the kids' home lives too.
thank you very much for the sharing... really appreciate it..

@@acutemathclass2739Thanks . Out of curiosity , why create a TH-cam channel instead of posting the videos on Canvas?
This is so helpful! I’m really wanting to implement flipped classroom with my advanced middle schoolers!
Beautiful video! Thank you so much for this. It is immensely helpful.
I’m so glad!
Thank you. Eye opening experience.
Thanks so much for making this series! It's very helpful.
I’m glad! Thank you for watching!

Right?? I only see google classroom stuff so it’s hard to find stuff to implement well with canvas! Thanks for watching!
This sounds cool can you define a flipped classroom? Thanks (I’m not a teacher, I’m a nanny) and I’m interested. Thanks.

How often do you post video notes? Does it depend on your curriculum?

How long are that notes that you make for home?
