You don’t know how much I appreciate it you explaining the details of your process… So many tutorials just show you but don’t tell you what problems are being worked out in the thought process. I watch a lot of art videos and tutorials, yours by far has been the most helpful. Thank you so incredibly much!!!
I love listening to you, and laughed when you said "looks like she needs medical help". I have learned so much watching your videos. If you make a mistake when you're teaching, it helps those that may have that same mistake. I love your watercolor style, it's beautiful. I need to work on my back grounds, you inspire me. Hugs to you❤️
When I hear you speaking to yourself it reminds me when I'm painting and I'm telling myself the same thing, thanks for sharing your work! Is wonderful :)
Amazing. Faces in watercolour have long eluded me, even back in fashion school when I was taught to use watercolour during illustration. Thank you for this amazing walk through tutorial.
I like the way you worry about each stage! But how you solve those problems is the most useful part of video! Nobody else says about it. Thank you so much !
I just started watercolor recently and I don't have a natural eye for shadows and lights but learning... I have watched many great tutorials and they all make it look so easy, never even a little glitch in the process. Your tutorial added more value to me as you show how to fix little issues when they happen. Your explanations through out are very efficient! Thank you so much! Looking forward watching your other videos!🙏💖
Thank you so much! This is so unbelievably helpful. I got the Daniel Smith dot papers and I can’t tell you how many times I’ve gotten my equipment ready only to just stare at my paper lol. 🖤 you’re an amazing teacher!
Hi Jane-Beata, I have watched a lot of your videos, each video is a theme, a color is very wonderful and it makes me very excited. In this watercolor girl portrait painting is very perfect, from the way you sketch the picture to the coloring, everything is amazing.
this isn it. This is the tutorial that made watercolor portraits click for me. Thank you for your in depth, step-by-step process. You're a very good teacher!
Excellent video! This tutorial is helping me greatly through a current project! I am new to watercolor and watercolor portraits and I appreciate you walking me through your process. Your creations are beautiful and your teaching style is so pleasing! Thank you so much!
Excellent primer on how to shade a portrait of a face. Only comment that I would like to make is obviously if you are sketching someone older the shading would be entirely different in spots. I also like the fact that you didn't need a whole bunch of fancy paints or colors --just the basics made a beautiful face portrait. So many videos obsess on colors and paint brands. I learned a lot from your video on shading and how to make my portraits look less flat and cartoony. I am an abstract painter but still want to know the essentials of portrait shading.
Wow this is so clearly explained and beautiful ! I always got the false expression when watching the Timelapse that it was so easy now I know the technique behind it and how in reality their is a lot of thought behind it.
Glad it was helpful! Yes indeed, a lot of thoughts, and also luck I must say - there are definitely good and bad days when. it comes to painting results. But it all is part of it :)
I've learned so much from this lesson. I constantly struggle with harsh lines and love seeing how you make sure that doesn't happen and the lines you do have are meant to be there. I'll have to watch this one again as I go through my next painting. Truly beautiful!!! Even down to the last highlight and blue color pencil dot.
Thank you for taking the time to show us the full process and guiding us through it, which is not an easy task. I once tried to do that and found it tricky to do. And thank you for creating the playlist, it will be very useful to sit down and get through the process along with you :)
@@JaneBeata I’m definitely having fun and actually, doing much better than I thought. So thank you for inspiring me to take the challenge. I didn’t finish today, but hopefuly next weekend I’ll have a finished portrait, good or bad but done :)
Uhhh new sub and saving this in my watch later so I can follow along with you :) But the painting came out beautiful, I always struggle painting portraits with watercolors since I'm most accustomed to acrylics, but I'll have to give it a go!
Hope you'll have a fun painting session and it's common for people who are used to mediums like acrylics, gouache or oils to struggle with watercolor at first, most of the approach is the other way around, but after a few exercises and studies you'll get the hang of it!
You're welcome 😊 Hope it helps! And I understand completely the fear to apply darker colors, but its so rewarding in the end, because without it we cant get any contrast :)
Hi Jeane thanks for this important tutorial which colours you use the most to obtain black colour? Sometimes when I use pure black the watercolour gets dirty

@@JaneBeata could you make a video to teach how paint flower in the loose and abstract way?
@@sanaztorabi6335 There is a recent tutorial on my channel on that topic - th-cam.com/video/I6cIszJcVPY/w-d-xo.html

I have a question, after the first layer you paint wet on dry ? Thank for your videos, you are very talented 🤩
Amazing work i subscribe
Hi Jeane thanks for this important tutorial
which colours you use the most to obtain black colour? Sometimes when I use pure black the watercolour gets dirty
Check out the color mixing class that goes along this tutorial th-cam.com/video/lrtQd7yofTc/w-d-xo.html
where can I find the reference picture
OK, I'm a bit dense. Is there a list of colors used and a copy of sketch to download?
There is a fulll mixing video and full sketching video prior to this one, covering those two aspects. You can find links in the description.
May i know the brushes size and types that you use for this portrait please 🥰
In description, as always.
Please, how do I know what color of paint you are using?
There is another color mixing video that comes with this tutorial, I said that at the start and link is in the description.
Where you from🤔
There is a location handle just beneath the video.
It's amazing 😍 and ur methods are useful ❤(◍•ᴗ•◍)✧*。
Amazing work i subscribe
Thanks and welcome :)
