He made the right move. It was looking real dim for Wade at that moment. His knees looked done, and it was easy to think he was headed for retirement or become a bench role player. Heat were not a superteam, they were a Big 3. They were built around two all time greats and an All Star 3rd option. When Wade got hurt, that team became very vulnerable and beatable.
Wade eventually recovered from those severe knee issues and had an AMAZING 15-16 season.

Also people seem to forget that if Lebron would have stayed in Miami Pau Gasol would have came to the Heat so losing Bosh wouldn't have been such a huge blow. Lakers fan Wade is never useless let’s first clear that up. He is the 3rd greatest SG of all time and played better defense than Kobe, he’s not useless. Bosh would’ve packed his bags for Houston since Miami was not willing to match Houston’s offer in 2014. Gasol and Lowry would’ve signed. The following season Riley got an interview with Aldridge only offering him the mid level exception you best believe with Lebron on his roster and some cap flexibility due to Bosh leaving, Aldridge would’ve signed. Miami would then get the ancillary pieces to keep them competitive.

Wade compared that year to being in a bad marriage and Bosh said winning that season only provided temporary relief before things got bad again. I'm sure that played a role in Lebron's decision too. And for 2016 they still will have cap space to still sign James Johnson and Waiters. I have a different perspective. I think if the Miami heat with LeBron faced the warriors in 2015, the heat would have won. The warriors became much better after they won the championship in 2015 which sparked their confidence to become the 73-9 team. Had the warriors been eliminated in the 2015 playoffs by the clippers, spurs, or thunder; I doubt they would have gone on that season winning run. But that begs the question, what if the Heat faced another team besides the warriors in 2015? A healthy Westbrook and Durant? A rematch with the spurs? Maybe cp3 and blake griffin lead clippers?
Just some things to think about.

Everyone is missing the whole point. It wasn’t the rings, it was the fact that it would ALWAYS BE WADE COUNTY. Lebron wanted something that really hit home.
That 1 ring in Cleveland probably meant more to him, than both of the rings in Miami in totality.

Disagree with u here about Wade county. It was all the way Lebrons team after the first year. It's not like Durant and Steph where Steph was in his prime and playing MVP level basketball. Wade was solidly past his prime and was dealing with plenty of injury issues. Everyone knew Lebron was running the show and they were fine with it. As far as the ring in Cleveland meaning more, yeah of course since Cleveland is Lebrons hometown. But it had nothing to do with Miami being Wade county

    • @Tommy-hy1ob
      @Tommy-hy1ob 5 ปีที่แล้ว

slamandjam2 You missed the boat. It was Lebron team yes. But it was never his CITY. If it was TRULY Lebron keys, he would’ve been able to have his friends/family have more access and benefits with the team. They wont allowed to sit certain places, and etc.
Lebron left cause he still had a empty void in his heart. There’s No place like home, regardless how you look at it.
Now that he accomplished his mission, he is able to move on without feeling like he didn’t fulfill his promise.
Plus if it was his team, he would’ve been able to get rid of Erik Spoelstra. Lebron always wanted full access to team personnel and roster.
You may be thinking, that’s too much power. Yes indeed, but it works for Lebron. He makes sure his supporting cast get 💰, and he gets you to the finals (which is 💰 for the city/owner)!
Tristan Thompson, jr Smith, and others would’ve never got the contracts they got, without Lebron. Remember Lebron didn’t even sign his contract until they resolved the contract disputes with Tristan/JR.
Wade is forever the King of MIAMI, Lebron is the King of CLEVELAND. 💯
*Im not saying Lebron is perfect or the goat. That’s a never ending debate.

I imagine LeBron would have joined the Lakers in 2018 regardless of his decision in 2014. Had he stayed in Miami rather than return to Cleveland, the Heat would have made 8 straight Finals 2011-2018. Wade wouldnt have left in 2016, but Bosh would have still had the clots. The Heat probably would have still acquired Dragic and brought up Hassan Whiteside, so we would have had a core of Lebron, Wade, Dragic, and Whiteside plus top role players who have wanted to join. I'd say Miami would have beat the Warriors in both 2015 and 2016, then lose to the Warriors in 2017 and 2018 after KD joins them. By 2018, Wade is basically done and Bosh long gone, LeBron probably goes to LA just like he did and wins again in 2020. No Cleveland title, but LeBron is probably 5-5 in the Finals if he never left the Heat

Never shoulda left Miami. Erik Spoelstra was the best coach Bron’s ever had and Pat Riley was the best GM Bron’s ever had. Way better than Cavs management or Magic Johnson. I truly believe he woulda won 2 more titles. I think that Miami team (who ended up with Whiteside the next year) coulda beaten the young Warriors squad. Also I believe Riley would know how to re-up and attract new free agents. In Cleveland, all he really had way Kyrie and role players. Once he lost Kyrie, everything fell apart. Yes Bron woulda been hated more if he stayed, but who cares if you’re winning.

the heat after 2014 were a depleted roster which was only made worse by Lebron leaving but what people forget is that the heat surprisingly added Goran Dragic for some draft picks and Hassan Whiteside emerged almost out of nowhere. so now you are talking about wade, Lebron, Whiteside, and Goran. That team would have easily made the finals in 2015 and more than likely defeated the warriors. Remember Lebron with Tristan and delly took the warriors to 6 games so I have no doubt an injured wade, Goran, and Whiteside would have been more than enough to beat them. as far as 2016 goes I think the warriors would have won that title because they made a huge leap. where it gets interesting though is that 2017 I don't think it would have been Durant to the warriors, I think it would have been Durant to the heat. bosh's contract would have been cleared off of the books, Whiteside was a free agent but had a small cap hold so they could sign him while going over the cap wade would have likely taken a paycut if the team was still competing for titles. so it would have been Draymond, Steph, and Klay going against old wade, Lebron, Durant, Goran, and Whiteside, that is when I think the heat dynasty would have started.

    • @AAPGoku

No lie, Golden State has the same team throughout Miami’s dominance. The moment LeBron left is the moment Golden State instantly became a championship dynasty. That’s not a coincidence.
Whiteside got picked up halfway through the season that following year and instantly became a household name and a dominant center. Although he has his weaknesses, no one can deny dude would’ve been a 25-15-5 player if LeBron was his running man.
Yeah, Bosh got injured. But the league loves LeBron so much they would’ve made sure Bosh’s injury would’ve open up enough cap space for them to bring in a really good role player. Also, i’m sure Ray Allen would’ve stayed in the league for as long as he could shoot. Then Miami drafted Josh Richardson, who, with LeBron would’ve developed faster (since he’s a shooter and slasher that plays high level defense).
anyone that thinks Miami wouldn’t have challenged Golden States emergence is either dumb or a hater. Damn i miss those Miami teams. The league been trash ever since Bron left Miami. Now it’s Golden State vs Everybody.

Gasol and Ariza were already lined up to sign with the Heat. Lebron told them not to sign with Miami because he knew he was going to leave. LeBron screwed up by leaving the Heat. He could have 4 or 5 championships right now instead of 3. Miami is the only place where lebron had any sort of organizational structure around him and he traded that for winning one in Cleveland... I get that winning a title for Cleveland was huge and important but I would rather win 5 in Miami than 1 in Cleveland. If LeBron knew what he knew now I bet you he would’ve stayed at least a couple more years before trying to win with the cavs again. LeBron got in his own way of winning more titles.
