Best view i have seen yet on any on bike vlog.. Love that we see the whole front of the bike.. Great video.. Great view..Great speaker.. Easy subscribe.. The super wide works awesome..
Thanks for the recommendation. My last bike had Ultimate midrider seats with a drivers backrest. It made a huge difference for me. I added the Utopia backrest to my DCT tour and it does make this a much better seat. I think This stock seat may be a 200 mile seat with the backrest. I put the passenger armrests on for my girlfriend. I have to say they look little but she says they made a big difference for her. Thanks again Chris, Mike
Great video, as always! I would have thought the passenger volume would have just controlled their volume. The new Yamaha was the bike I've seen advertising separate audio sources for rider & passenger. You're a great source for information!
Great video and sound. I put almost 300 miles on mine Saturday and Sunday. Half of them with my wife. This is an awesome machine and as you stated the more I ride it the more I love it. My Utopia backrest will be here Thursday and we need some great looking foot pegs asap. Thanks for all you do at the Cruiseman's Garage and keep it up!!!
Great Video! Really enjoyed this. When I get my first wing, I do plan on installing the backrest. I have a Honda CTX700 with DCT and really love the DCT. I am sure that most people will love the auto. Keep up the good work!
Hi Chris, I am from Germany, ordered my new GW Tour DCT and will pick it up this month. You are giving me valuable informations in an objective manner, thank you for that, it‘s big help
I'm from Belgium Europe and never drove a Gold Wing before, but so eager to test one at the end of this month when available at the dealer. Your videos are excellent, Chris, and you almost cosmetically 'fine-comb' the new Wing. Very interesting videos though. Considering all this and future videos from you 'as time goes by' :) . Greets, Alain
I have one of the original Sena10 helmet units with the hidden mic also sena camera. Very happy with this setup as it integrates with my phone and has the handlebar controls. My only issue is battery life on the camera which is about 3 hours. I normally disable the sensor on the trunk (older wings) as it's common for the warning to come on which disables all the dash info, Saddle bags need a slap once in a while also. How is the seat on long trips? I love the older wing seats and neither the wife or myself ever get sore and we normally do 4-600 miles per day. I know if that was not the case my wife would force me to sell - if mama ain't happy nobody's happy.
I'm still waiting for my red DCT Tour to be delivered, but I can't express how much I appreciate your videos for both their information, but also for their quality and thought that you put into the production.
Good video both in content and quality Chris. I also have the new bike but living in IL even though I have had mine as long as you have only been able to ride 350mi. I traded in a 2013 F6b with a Utopia backrest I installed. It was a game changer for me along with a seat pad my wife bought me. I am 74 years old and last year I rode straight thru from Seaford MA to IL over 900 mi in one day and felt great when I arrived home in about 14 hours. Having said that I opted for the Honda backrest on my18 because I felt the Utopia was too large and every time I got onto my 13 It seemed to be in the way. I love the looks of the Honda rest on my 18 and it seems to be good for me. The price was also attractive for me as I work part time at my local Honda dealer and my employee price was very good. I think I want the upper hand wings and maybe the lowers also but refuse to pay $500 retail and even my discount price for them. I may come around but like you pointed out that open channel around the mirrors I have already figured out even with the hand wings is a problem. As far as the passenger audio control that is a shame, we are also an Yamaha dealership and I am pretty sure the passenger control on the new Venture Star does what you want Honda's to do. I wish Yamaha wouldn't have came out with a air cooled V-twin engine and made the bike near 1000 lbs in a lot of ways I like it better than the 2018 Wing it sure goes down the road slick. But this isn't about that bike and I don't wish to Hi-Jack your posting. Don/t get me wrong I am a sport tour rider having owned many BMW's and FJR, ST1100 hence I was riding a F6b etc and ride solo but in a lot of ways I feel Honda has strayed away from what a Gold Wing means to me and a lot of people. The only reason I bought the Tour instead of the Goldwing model this year was is there is NO ROOM in the side bags. I ride long trips and even solo would find myself using waterproof stuff bags for even my clothing and item strapped on the back seat on the Wing and not the Tour model. They are after a younger and different buyer and market I just hope these new folks will support this machine.
I hope you take this as I wish you to stay safe. Left turn into right lane, not COOL. You should have turned into left lane then moved over, making sure safe to do so.
I liked the taller and wider view from this camera. I imagine you will capture images you would other wise miss with other cameras. Still thinking about pulling the trigger on a 2018 will test ride one soon.
Chris the rear passenger control is supposed to give the passenger complete individual control of the source and the volume.. You must have something mixed-up with the wiring. That’s the whole purpose of it. 🇺🇸
The purpose of it is to allow the passenger to control the source and volume of the bike. The bike can only play one source and have one volume at a time. Not sure how it would do two sources at once unless it had more tuners.
Another great video Chris. I have exactly the same bike as you so far Im loving it. I am about to install both the upper and lower wind deflectors based on you very good installation vid this should be no problem. What I really want to install is the lower spot lights its my understanding thus requires removing most of the plastic on the bike. You would be doing us all a great service if you could make a video on this any plans to tackle such a project ?
Interest point on the Passenger Audio Control switch. That is a hefty price for doing a mere Audio volume, Source and selection control. I hope they correct this in a upgrade of the software before I get a 2018 Gold Wing Tour. Ride on Brother
I installed the lower deflectors, but haven't had the time to test them out. Also got the third brake light installed on the luggage rack. Honda's instructions aren't bad, but I think they could be better.
Not sure if it was said already here but you don’t have to change the oil on the 2018 at 600 miles. On the 2018 they decided to not force a break-in period and it has full oil in it. Check out the manual, the first service interval is 3000 now. Crazy.
Cruiseman, this is a bit off topic, but when you go for a ride whether it be for an hour or several hours what are the absolute essentials that you include in your top case and side cases? I have onboard rain gear, Owners Manual, MotionPro tire pressure guage(s), air compressor, basic metric tool case, tire repair plug kit, insurance paperwork and maintenance records. I am I missing anything?
Love the vids and the honest, down-to-earth reviews. I've heard a lot of good things about the new Goldwing. The most consistent negative comment has been the luggage space (a fact you eluded to in your first review). Now that you've had the Wing for a month, have you taken a long trip where you needed to take some luggage? I know that it holds significantly less than the previous Wings, but has that been an issue?
Chris your vids are always great. Great to see you in this motovlog platform. Thanks for your reviews sir. i have a vid coming out Thursday this week with a shout out to you, not that you need it! Ha!. I think the 2018 is a great performer. I have a 2008 with a lot of life left on it. I am "Mike Payne" on FB.
Why did you change the oil so early, I saw the manual and the dealer reported that the first oil change should be at 4,000 miles? Thanks for your great info.
Hey cruiseman Like your video on the Goldwing. I ride a Harley Davidson Ultra Classic 2017 and I've been interested in the new Goldwing DCT version because I thought it would handle better . So I test rode one today and I'm sold . I think in tour mode they shift to fast . Do you like how it goes through the gears quick? I was turning a corner and by the time I got through the corner I was in 4th gear in town . Is that normal? Thanks
Like your honest opinions, Chris, and the stock sound of the exhaust seems to be just right. Do you spend much time looking at those tie rods jumping up and down? How's that new front end suspension?
Have you found a luggage rack that is bigger than Honda's? It looks like a half-track and I'm concerned my bag is gonna scratch the paint on long trips.
I average (2) 2,000+ mile trips per year on a '08 Wing and I'd like to buy the '18 Wing but I just don't see how I can put a T-Bag on this half-baked luggage rack. I'm wanting to do some shorter trips with my wife. A full-size luggage rack is key. Unbelievable that Honda missed on this. I wish you would feature this in a future video. Maybe Honda will listen. This is probably the only thing holding up my purchase decision.
Regarding the truck latch signal, I was told by a salesman that the hatches are meant to be shut harder than people want to. Many people seem to experience the issue of the sensor saying the latch is open because they sit the lid down then push on it instead just closing it hard. With the passenger control, I was afraid that was exactly what it was going to do. That is what I thought when you installed it that it gave the passenger control of the radio. For me this is a HUGE negative cause I don't want the wife to have control over the radio when I am driving the bike. The backrest looks WAY better than the one that Honda has that is itty bitty and doesn't move at all for the passenger to get on or off. There was also no moving it up or down so the passenger was just stuck with the width of it digging into their legs for a trip. I would still like to see a video showing passenger on the back with the backrest so I can see how the passenger sits with that backrest. I want a backrest but until they are installed it is hard ot know if it will mess with the passenger or not. With the ability of the rest to move up I think that could help with my wife's legs not being comfortable.
You and Chris Caliente have the best audio on your blogs when riding. So many of the moto blogs don't have near as clear audio on their setups.
Best view i have seen yet on any on bike vlog.. Love that we see the whole front of the bike.. Great video.. Great view..Great speaker.. Easy subscribe.. The super wide works awesome..

Chris sounds and looks like you have the GoPro tuned both video and sound as others have mentioned. Looking forward to more of your vlogs! Ride safe!

Yes Cruiseman yes it does sounds great.
Enjoyed your motovlog. Great camera angle and audio! Thanks for sharing.Safe Travels.
I hope you take this as I wish you to stay safe. Left turn into right lane, not COOL. You should have turned into left lane then moved over, making sure safe to do so.
Learned from a CHP it is perfectly legal to pick any lane after turning left. I do it all the time and it's perfectly safe to do so.
Nice video. Video looks good; audio sounds good. Good job. Happy Easter to you too.
I liked the taller and wider view from this camera. I imagine you will capture images you would other wise miss with other cameras. Still thinking about pulling the trigger on a 2018 will test ride one soon.
Thanks for doing these videos. I appreciate your time and effort.
NObody talks about the Mirrors!! Looks like Wide angle Views ! BIG Thumbs up Buddy...I like WHITE!!!!
Love the videos. Great work you do. Thank you.
Chris the rear passenger control is supposed to give the passenger complete individual control of the source and the volume.. You must have something mixed-up with the wiring. That’s the whole purpose of it. 🇺🇸
No way to cross up the wires, they only install one way. Maybe I just don't know how to make it work. No documentation.
The purpose of it is to allow the passenger to control the source and volume of the bike. The bike can only play one source and have one volume at a time. Not sure how it would do two sources at once unless it had more tuners.

Audio and video are great like the wide angle view, Thanks Happy Eastah
I am considering trading my 2014 H-D limited for the GWT. Really liking what i see and hear about this machine.
Thank you for another excellent video!

I miss the 2 antenna`s on the back of the bike for the radio and the CB.It does give the bike some more flair to it.Are they hidden now somewere else?

I will check your channel on Thursday!
M.M. way to go.... yea me too i like my 2006 Honda G.L.
Enjoy the channel
Please do not add a golf club bag bracket ;)
what about "Ba Ba?" He's the coolest cat..... (ever)
Thanks. Loved it
Great video and info! Thanks.
yep yep!
Why did you change the oil so early, I saw the manual and the dealer reported that the first oil change should be at 4,000 miles? Thanks for your great info.
I have a question... Does Honda goldwing is capable for mountain rides (off road) though it has the ground clearance of 130...
Hey cruiseman Like your video on the Goldwing. I ride a Harley Davidson Ultra Classic 2017 and I've been interested in the new Goldwing DCT version because I thought it would handle better . I am good with the suspension. MUCH better than my previous Wings.
I like the wide angle.
I think it turned out OK.
Hey Cruiseman, what do you use to keep that windshield so clear after 10K miles?
are there any news about the engine drum, resonance and vibrations, when you now drove on the highway? Is it still there and at what speed or rpm?
Have you found a luggage rack that is bigger than Honda's? It looks like a half-track and I'm concerned my bag is gonna scratch the paint on long trips.
No aftermarket rack yet. The problem is the trunk is so small, not sure it can handle a larger rack.
I average (2) 2,000+ mile trips per year on a '08 Wing and I'd like to buy the '18 Wing but I just don't see how I can put a T-Bag on this half-baked luggage rack. If you ride solo, you could put the T-Bag on the back seat. That's what I plan to do. When riding 2-up, I will be pulling a trailer.

I thought first oil change is change at 4000mile?
The video works.
Thé next Time cruiseman garage show us change thé oil on the goldwing 2018
Ok thank for your anser quickly
What do you not like on this bike compared to your previous Wing?
Smaller trunk, can't fit 2 helmets. GPS sucks and is worthless. Those are the 2 big ones that jump out at me.
I would rather see 720p and higher frame rate, if that is available.
Never mind I'm first to comment.... nice video
It upsets me that there’s no instructions. That’s going cheap!
I think Honda rushed this bike to the market.
DD
I'm first to watch
