What a fab vlog guys! I was lucky enough to go to the Maldives in 2019 and stayed in one of the fancy dancy hotels. Don’t get me wrong, it was out of this world but your version of a stay in the Maldives looks so much more authentic, makes me want to go back and do it all differently. Thank you for sharing, stay safe both of you and sending love 😘

Thanks Marisa 🥰 It definitely was authentic but let’s be honest, you can’t beat a bit of luxury! 🥂

Hi great job 👍 i will go to ukulhas next week 😊
Please i need your recommendation for the hotels there which one is the best? If there any island best than ukulhas

We really liked where we stayed but if you’re looking for something more luxurious I believe Ranthari may be worth looking at. It has a rooftop pool. There is lots of accommodation to choose from on Ukulhas and we spent a great deal of time researching reviews on Tripadvisor/booking.com
In terms of islands we were only able to visit Ukulhas due to Covid restrictions so we can’t comment on how it compares to other islands but again we did a lot of research before we left and Ukulhas came up top for us.
      Have a brilliant time!

Bless you guys, what a lovely vlog. I'm glad you got the diving all sorted. I love the sea but too scared to go out deep. Seeing dolphins from afar is fine for me.😂😂😂 I've subscribed to your channel now, so will happily have a gander through your vids. Intrigued about Ukulhas now.

Thank you for your video.loved watching it all parts.
Just a quick question, how many days do you reckon we need to spend at Ukhulhas?
Also, would half board (breakfast and dinner) with a hotel be a good idea? Watching you tried from many restaurants -that seems more adventurous

Thanks for watching! And glad you enjoyed the video 😊
In terms of how long to spend on Ukulhas it’s really up to you. It’s a small island so it really depends what you want to do. We were happy to spend lots of time on the beach and in the sea but there are also day trips you can do. It probably depends on whether you are going to any other islands. If so you can probably spend less time on Ukulhas but you want enough time to be able to relax and enjoy it.
Although there are only a small amount of restaurants on the island, if you’re there for a few nights it’s quite nice to be able to go to different ones. They’re fairly cheap so personally we preferred doing b&b and choosing different places for dinner.
Have a great time! We wish we were going back!

You’re welcome. Enjoy those islands. We really wanted to visit some other ones but due to covid at the time it was too tricky. Oh well, we’ll just have to go back again! Enjoy your trip.

thanks for sharing your experience! can you say something about how the covid testing before the return travel works? how long did you wait for the results and do you have to collect them physically or is there an option to get them online? we are travelling to Ukulhas next month but we are going to spend the last day and night in Male and we're worried how that can impact the covid testing before our flight back home. cheers!

Thank you watching. So things might have changed since we went there. We had quite a stressful time with our PCR tests. Everything is done via your hotel. Your hotel manager will take a photocopy of your passport, hand it in to the clinic where the tests are done, then a time will be arranged for you to go get the test done. They give you about a 12 hour window to get the results back. Ours was more like 20 hours! The tests have to go to Male. Our results didn't get back to us until 5 minutes before we boarded the boat out of Ukulhas. Not ideal.
We got the test results via email, but had to print a hard copy out at the hotel. The airport at that time only accepted a hard copy.
I would say the first thing to do when you get to your hotel on Ukulhas is have a proper chat with your hotel manager about when you are leaving the island and the Maldives and formulate a solid plan as to when the best time to test is. Don't leave anything to chance. Make sure your boat is booked from Ukulhas. Check the weather before you are leaving as the boats can often cancel if the sea is choppy. Give yourself some wiggle room in case things take a little longer. They often will. Everything goes at a different pace in the Maldives which can be very frustrating if you need to get somewhere on time. It is an amazing place. Covid does add an element of stress to the trip but if you get organised as much as you can from your end things should hopefully work out.
Anything else you need to ask just get in touch.

@@romanaandewan thank you so much, this is really helpful! so since we will spend last day and night in Male and the test has to be done 72h before leaving the Maldives, i'm still fairly hopeful - as it seems we can leave Ukulhas and just print the results in Male. but yeah, we will speak with the hotel people for sure to have a plan :) cheers!
