    Also if you get too much sun on yr skin even with protective sunscreen creams or sprays you can apply aloe vera cooling gels after shower. Aloe vera gels really helps the skin to heal faster after burn. I am writing all of it because I had same issues with insects and sunburn when we moved to Florida few years ago. And I wish someone would give me those advices sooner. Enjoy your sea vacation 😎

      Yip sunburn was also an issue for us! Hence why we’re wearing T-shirt’s on the beach most of the time! Luckily we got some Aloe Vera which really helped 👍🏻

    Thanks for the great videos! I chanced upon your videos while looking for more information on la palma villa und ukulhas Island. We are family of 2 adults and 2 children planning on staying for a week in la palma villa.
    Do you think there are enough things to do for us for a week?
    My children and I are very allergic to mosquito bites. They get really big and red. I am also concerned if they will ruin our holiday.. 😕

      Thanks for watching 👍🏻 there are trips you can do but honestly if you love snorkelling and water sports then that should keep you entertained. And lots of chill time. We didn’t do any trips but you can go fishing, go to an uninhabited sand island and see mantas. Mosquitos are fierce there so I would definitely go prepared. We weren’t which is probably why we suffered so much. Good insect repellant and antihistamines are a must id say. Have a great time. It really is a magical place and the sealife is awesome!

      When we were there we did our covid test at the medical centre on Ukulhas. The manager of our villa sorted it for us. Thanks for watching!

    Guys, get the Tea tree essential oil. Maybe they have in the drug store over there maybe even in the regular supermarket or food store. Tea tree oil helps with itching and it will heal your skin in an area of a bite site. I use Tea tree oil for fire ants bites and any other insects bite. It really helps. Main thing to remember about this oil is the best quality oil is normally made in Australia. So look at the label where it is made. And it should only be applied topically on the skin. Do not put it in you mouse or eyes, because it is poisonouse if ingested. Otherwise Tea tree oil is a miracle for any kind of insects bite. I live in Florida. It is very humid and hot and we have all kind of insects here. This oil is the only real help I can get here. One more thing. It smells kind of sharply. But when you get relief from itching you probably will not care much of it. 😁

      Ooooh that’s really good to know Maria. I have lots of tea tree oil at home and didn’t realise it can be used for bites. Great tip! Thank you 😊

      We use an Osmo Pocket with an external mic. Really good stabilization. But not great in low light

    Did you guys had no concers of getting dengue or any disase from those mosquitos ?? Thats my biggest concern

    • @romanaandewan
      @romanaandewan  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Honestly we were more concerned about Covid! I guess when you go to tropical places like the Maldives there is always a risk of diseases like dengue but for us it was a risk worth taking. In hindsight we would probably take a stronger insect repellent if we were to go again.

      @@adrianbratu8527 maybe Deet. Problem with that is it’s oily. But it works. Skin so soft is good. There’s the more natural route but to be honest the mosquitoes are hardcore in the Maldives so the more industrial the better. Good luck.🙏

    Do you think that there are islands with less of mosquitoes? Can it spread some illnesses?

    • @romanaandewan
      @romanaandewan  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’m not sure about other islands sorry. There is no malaria in Maldives but there is a risk of dengue fever. We were fine though.
