Stage 3 - The Defence Forces entry fitness test for recruitment, apprentices, and cadetship applicants. Information and fitness programme can be found here www.military.ie/.../defence-f...
When I did it we were in a group that allowed us to pace each other. So long as you are grand with the push-ups and sit-ups, and know you have the endurance for the run and can keep up with others you’ll be fine
The run is my biggest issue, for those curious about a more relative distance, it’s the same as running 6 laps of a 400m track. I’ll probably give it a go again at some point. I’m guessing the timing is so tight as they want people to give it their all
Does anyone have help to drop weight from 95kg, and cooper test run , or training routine or downloadable training regime for reserves , or what speed to run kmh on threadmill to make cooper test time ,
@@user-zb9ke1dl1m I can't remember the time, it's generous so if u can't meet the minimum level then the army definitely isn't for u. For actually pdf members annual tests it's a 2 mile run

did you do it?
@@lookatme5939 flat feet = severe shin splints. Perhaps in another life :(
@@ManHamAslumesounds like u failed the run. Flat feet don't change if u have that also, u will never be medically fit for service
@@Truthbomb918 yeah that about sums it up. I’m past that now, found other ambitions maybe in another life 🤷
With the sit ups do you have to bend your back or can you just lift your back up fully
Warm up before the run😂 when I did it, it was just after feeding us soup and bread, the amount of puke on that run 🤢

Or is the program where the army just take someone and beast me via a pt 😂 and show up at a barracks

Can you have someone hold down your feet doing sit ups? I physically cant do a single one
You can't have anyone hold your feet in the test, If you practice with someone holding your feet you will get better at it and eventually progress 💪
Unfortunately ur physically not fit. Either train properly or forget about this career
Just wondering on fitness test day is the 2.4km run done on a track?
It’s run around the barracks; so pavement/concrete.
Mine was 5 laps around the square
Generally no. At the Curragh its done on a straight road that leads right through the camp; 1.2 km and we turn around run the other half back.
No its done on a tarmac road. It's only a mile and a half
