1930hrs 7th August 2023. From an old Merchant Navy Engineer... Up the Gulf in summer while blowing tubes on a steam boiler. Now that was what we felt was really nice and hot. Happy Days back in the 1960s. We'll done lads and lassies we all needed you at one time when things kicked off 😊.
The US Navy has been wearing camo on ships for years. It's the utility uniform. They also use blue coveralls as well. So, camo onboard a ship is not uncommon nowadays.
@@johnteets2921 Lots of things do not make any sense, when you are on the "inside", the very act of war, does not make any sense when you think about it.
@@chopchung - Well, let's see it this way...The Brits are giving a helping hand for that matter as the Irish lack the necessary aircraft to do the job. It won't be forever, just for the time being.
My father would tell his troops, it is hot, therefore stay hydrated, drink plenty of water. We have a twenty mile hike today. I don't want anyone having a heat stroke...
The Irish government is ordering a larger ship this year, possibly a Damen MPSS similar to what Portugal ordered last year, the NPR Dom Joao II... Its a drone flat top with a vehicle deck and landing craft useful for humanitarian and disaster relief missions... 7000 tons displacement... Ireland is a small nation with a small population compared to the UK, France, and Germany... Notice Belgium's navy isn't much larger...
Old Uniforms looked better, no wonder no one wants to join the Naval Service, Why not upgrade to multicam like they plan to in the Army in the near future.
@sisterimapoet1340 The Irish are not protected by the Brits. The Brits are protecting their interests and Ireland just happens to be there. The Brits have brought nothing but blood, tears, misery, slavery, intimidation to the planet. They just care about their agenda and the queen or the king.
We should stop wasting money on the navy, air corps , army and department of defence. All are a total failure so give it up. Give the army budget to the Garda and have thousands of additional Gards. Give the air corps choppers to the Garda and the Coast Guard. Give the navy ships to the Coast Guard for drug interdiction and fishery protection. Give air corps fixed wing planes to HSE to use as air ambulance. Public would get better return for the money. We dont need any military
Irish Navy personell should be issued with Tropical uniforms when they have to operate in tropical situations

Obviously great influence of Danish Thetis class littoral vessels.
Well done.
God bless them. Lots of love from me. ❤
The Irish navy would be better utilised keeping their borders secure.
Why. Who is threatening them?

its an Irish thing, they Irish army wear navy uniforms
Could ask the same about the us navy and the UK navy its uniform its unity and if they are close to insurgents or need to be combat affective
THEY WERE LIKE ICE THE IT. TAYLOR I LOVE YOU STILL
The Irish need to spend a great deal more on their three armed forces. They cannot continue to rely on the UK to protect them.
shhhh!....no one's supposed to KNOW!!
Totally agree but it will never happen...

This is very annoying to watch. The Irish need more support for their Navy.
Good for Ireland ! It's nice to see that proud nation upgrade its naval forces and become hopefully a future member of the NATO fleet.
As "proud" as any nation CAN be whilst having the RAF patrolling it's airspace!!

Oh is that why no one is joining the military? They don't like the uniforms??😂😂😂
That navy camo is a great looking camouflage pattern
Just as long as you're not co-operating with the Brits, eh?
Edit: absolutely love the cooks guys.
the "BRITS" are the one's protecting "IRISH" skies via the RAF. Have been for at least seven years now!

They should join NATO but ONLY after the Brits get out of Northern Ireland...
