Very informative! Well done! Unfortunately, i am here to tell all of you from my own experience with intestinal metaplasia that GI doctors at least in the Dallas-Fort Worth area terrible! Substandard care. I learned more from TH-cam then any one of my 4 GI doctors. They all recommend NOTHING other then ppi's and monitoring even though i told them that i was on ppi's for 13 years without any results. Their plan is endoscopy in 3 years! Ridiculous! Wait 3 years to find out that i have cancer and maybe is to late? Absolute bullshit! None where interested in investing. None! Don't trust this people because they guidance and protocol is garbage!

Thankyou, I learned 2 weeks ago I have this, and recieved a note from my doctor, that its wasnt vancer but it could lead to it, and that they would schedule another endoscopy in a year. Thats it! Here's me thinking I am going to die soon. No follow up as far as a diet to follow, what to look for in case it gets worse! I am glad I found your video but, I am still full of questions.

My gut doctor told me I just have to deal with it; hard to plan a trip cause I never know when I am going to have a flairup; been sick for two weeks with BAD nausea and unable to eat, usually end up in the hospital dehydrated

I was diagnosed in august with IM my doctor never called me to inform me. I happened to stumble upon results when looking through my chart portal . I call doc and he said take over the counter pepsid and come back in a year for recheck .I am a Hodgkin lymphoma survivor so I called my oncologist he recommended I go for a second check in 6 months from last one . I was negative for h.pylori . These were the results
    A. Stomach, antrum:
Chronic inactive gastritis, focal intestinal metaplasia and reactive gastropathy
    Pending H. pylori immunostain
    B. Stomach, body:
Gastric oxyntic type mucosa with chronic inactive gastritis and reactive gastropathy
No H. pylori identified on H&E stained slide
    C. Stomach, fundus:
Chronic inactive gastritis and reactive gastropathy
No H. pylori identified on H&E stained slide
I’m not sure what to do I didn’t start the pepsid as I have no symptoms any advice is welcome. Also I don’t know the severity of this

Focal is very small. In extensive IM, we repeat EGD in 3 years

I had an endoscopy due to low iron but no bleeding was found but they found one polyp which the biopsy showed had Metaplasia. So what is my outlook? Was taking out the polyp for the biopsy the treatment?

I was diagnosed with the same. Gastroenterologist said there is no treatment just minitoring. 😅 More ppi's recommended. Not very useful advice.

I resolved my acid reflux simply with diet. Haven't needed any ppi's in 2 years.

Get of it! I been on ppi's for 13 years. It didn't prevent me from getting IM. Didn't help me after neither. Don't trust the GI community! Their protocol is garbage!A protocol dictated by the makers of ppi's.

''Jan 12, 2023 - The available evidence suggests that proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) do not cause gastric cancer, researchers say.'' Prilosec/Omeprazole is safe. I've been on it for 15 years. I have IM as well.

TH-cam offers all kinds of options on playback speed. I usually listen to something like this twice.

Doctors do not analyse the situation and listen to patients concerns. They are busy in making money. Doctors try spend minimum time with their patients
