  • After waiting one year we finally decided to add a whole house water system. Here we walk you through the install, why we decided to add it now. Thanks to Nova Filters for a great install, very pleased with the entire process. I also pass along the TDS results of this install, before and after! #thevillages #thevillagesflorida
    Nova Filters Cost (including Install) $690
    Very happy with the install, all told it took approx 1 hour.

    We brought a nova and love it. Moved in 2018 and put in a new kitchen faucet. It was scaled up within a year. That’s why we brought the nova system and have been scale free since.

    I went with Nova filtration also, But there was never a question for me about filtering the water. This is florida. You need to filter your water. I also got them to put in the reverse osmosis filtration system at my sink. Just an extra step because I am very picky about water. I do not give this to my dogs though because it does take some of the water flavor out. So I do the extra step of using a pitcher by Alexapure. I knew about the problems with big Berkey and I have used the big Alexapure system in the past also. Similar to the Berkey, but better rated. Now I don't need it and I'm very happy about that.

      Outstanding karenstasik, really appreciate you watching and for jumping in here. When we lived in NC the Berkey seemed to do the trick and I thought that moving to FL it would do the same. However once I did some digging I found that lots of users were losing confidence. So happy with NOVA and wish I had done this upgrade sooner, live and learn. Thanks again and SA!

    I had Nova Filters include a water softener and later add a reverse osmosis filter, with a facet at my sink, for my drinking water which also feeds into my refrigerator/freezer. Very Happy with results. Nova also provides annual filter replacement and cleaning at a very modest cost if you don't wish to do that maintenance yourself. When I did have one issue, they were at my house the next day and remediated the problem. Excellent customer service by Nova, I highly recommend them.

    Hey TB, you live and learn, right? We had Nova install ours right when we bought our house. My husband didn't think we needed one but I am picky about how water tastes. We love it. BTW - save money on your refrigerator filters, you don't need them anymore, Nova does it for you. We haven't changed the filters yet but they will need it soon. I'll let you know how that goes. Stay awesome as well!

      Hiya Sharon, thanks for stopping by and for sharing your time! Yes, live and learn. I held off installing the water system because I thought we had it covered with our Big Berkey, NOT! I appreciate your input and please do keep me posted on the filter change.

    Thanks for the video, its great! We just moved from Jacksonville FL to Summerfield (Stonecrest), the TDS in Jacksonville is 450! Here in Summerfield it is only around 160, so much better tap water but I want another a whole house and a reverse osmosis installed like my last house to filter out fluoride and will check out Nova filters. Thanks again. BTW, just get a RO system installed and no need for Zero Water anymore, those ZW filters are expensive and a pain to keep refilling the pitchers!

    • @thevillagesdeluna
      @thevillagesdeluna  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the info and WOW that's a high TDS number, well above the national average.. You are correct the filters are pricey and will consider the reverse osmosis system. Question - do you mean Del Webb at Stonecrest? (Ocala)

    Thank you for sharing. I know tap water in Florida tastes awful but your Zephyr Hills bottled water is amazing. I usually bring a case back with me to Virginia. I don't know anyone with a water filtration system here. Thanks for putting this on our radar for our future Villages home.

    • @thevillagesdeluna
      @thevillagesdeluna  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi DisMindy, and I agree the water taste is not great and when you factor in TDS, everyone should be aware. Glad this helped and appreciate your feedback...we'll be here when you're ready! SA!

    I checked their website and the first two filters are basically both sediment filters with different micron ratings. The initial is 20 microns and the second 10 microns. Seems a bit large to me. We live fulltime in an RV and basically have the same type of filtration system, but only on a small scale. I would think that using 10, then 5 micron filters would filter out much more sediments, but of course, the water flow would probably be decreased as well.

    • @thevillagesdeluna
      @thevillagesdeluna  ปีที่แล้ว

      Good point gonebyre and appreciate your feedback. When we had our RV we used the Big Berkey and seemed okay at the time but looking back a filtrations system as you describe would have been more prudent. Thanks for watching and SA!

    I'm not a fan of the Zero water concept, I want some minerals/electrolytes left in my water. Glad you like your new filtration system.

      I understand completely noreenn, certainly ZW is not the be all end all only a supplement right now. Thanks for watching and stay awesome always!

    If I may ask, do you have a water softener ? not that it impacts drinking water.. but curious if someone said, you dont need that either. Considering a life style visit next spring, and learning a lot of things to check into watching your clips.. so thank you for sharing your time and the info.,

    • @thevillagesdeluna
      @thevillagesdeluna  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks ccgaskell, so happy we can help. On the water softener question we do not have any plans for that right now. Several friends have them and they swear by them especially when it comes to laundry, hair and skin issues. If your interested I would suggest placing a call to Nova when you get here. Hope you sign on for that LSV...you will not be disappointed, SA!

    I like your filtration system, a professional install. The Builders will tell you do not need a system to protect themselves. The builders should include one with the Homes. This why people say the first YR. of ownership there is a lot of money spent on a Home in the Villages.

    • @thevillagesdeluna
      @thevillagesdeluna  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks danielterry and agreed it should be included based on what's known. Certainly took me a while to come around as I mostly drink filtered water. I thought it was ok but after speaking with friends and doing some digging this made sense. Appreciate your time and your feedback. Stay Awesome!

      My first home was new and yes there is a lot of money spent in the first couple of years. That is why I bought pre-owned since including TV. Already installed were things like finished drive, finished garage floor, plantation shutters, landscaping, solar tubes, mini-spilt AC on the patio, tankless water heater upgrade. That's a lot of cash if you want them right away after you move in.

      The cost is listed in the video description. I'm sure prices are subject to change from time to time so best to call Nova directly. They are super easy to work with and thanks for watching and commenting.
