Many of your staff techniques translate well to various European two-handed swords. I love the way FMA integrates with other martial disciplines. As always, thanks for the instruction.
YEEEESSSSS!!!!! I enjoy training with the baston and daga but I have ALWAYS loved the staff simply because it is a passive/aggressive TOOL that adapts to all disciplines of martial arts. Plus it’s just fun to play with! Really diggin’ these staff vids, guys
Yea! Love it. Would love to see a vid dedicated just to situations that might occure in a street fight with a live opponent who is punching or using a weapon other than a staff.
LOVE IT!!!! Love the staff flow and drills. Stick and dagger are fun but staff is my personal favorite. Great videos Paul and Tom! Also, those sound effects!
Kali weapons skills remind me in some respects of a kenjutsu school called tenshin shoden katori shinto ryu where the basics of each weapon seem to be the same or similar.
I would love to learn this for sure! But is it adequate to learn just from watching a video if you have some background in kali but only with the stick and double stick fighting and empty hand
It sure looks like Bojutsu to me or some Chinese staff technique as well as Filipino. Filipinos didn't invent these techniques and they are found in martial arts that use long weapons around the world.
@@kalicenter I agree but the title stating "bo staff techniques ONLY in FMA" is kind of misleading. If it said, "FMA staff fighting techniques " ok, but saying ONLY as if there is absolutely no way any of these techniques are found anywhere else is not true.
yer, sure, i wish i had the magic of timestopping the enemy while i do 2 extra low ecconomy of movement moves and he stands there frozen like an idiot. seriously in ALL of these the moment you start swinging your staff in the circles he will just stab forward to your face or throat and the fight is over and you lost.. ... i am saddened of the fact you can't find a single vid of people who actually know how to use a staff in combat; they are all this useless ninja sht that only works in training and only if the opponent freeze whenever you do your moves :&
Tom's sound effects make this video all the more awesome.

That's why I love staff fighting. You can take historical sword and spear techniques and apply them to a staff. It's awesome!
Much of Kali is influenced by "destreza minor".
The cult of the circle of blades/swords
@@bobpaul851 That sounds cool. Imma look that up.
@@bobpaul851 I actually did find some info via Google, but didn't look too far into it. I just found a bit of the history written on Wiki.

This is what I want to see! Thank you much.
Great video gentlemen. Please keep them coming.

Your instructional videos are awesome....even more awesome when you have a real opponent! Tom and Chris are great!!!!
Kali staffs are way cool. I don't train them much, but I'll start training more often because I've seen this video. I dig it!
Great show….🙏✊👏👏👏
Awesome strategy’s.
nice bo staff techniques 👌
Glad you like it! 👍🏼⚔️🙏🏼
Incredible!

Nice and shady there. Great moves too!
I'd like to learn more no staff technique
This is helpful in that I can use my cane!
Do you ship weapons to the Philippines?
Tom, no top knot?
nice video

How long should the staff be for a guy 5’8” in height?

Yup. Origins of Kung Fu came from India bro. Human body can only do what it can. Don’t matter who’s body or where they come from. 👍🏼
