Hi Chris, That is one beast of a machine. You just have to love that cab with that beautiful flow through ventilation where you can smell that dirt smell and diesel fumes, and that ergonomic seat for relieving operator stress. You need to get that chrome stack you mentioned at the auction, might put the exhaust fumes above the cab at least. I watch a you tube channel in Aust of a guy who does some signifcant repairs to earth moving equipment, and from the camera angle behind you one can see the numerous potential movements in the blade mounting system, and the loads those fixings and pivots must endure, and some of the parts this guy has rebuilt/reapaired.
The old girl does a great job. Looks like she has the fuel turned up a little.I spent a lotta hours on 6 C's and 6D's building well locations and moving rigs years ago,,, love them old machines ..I think you found a good one !!

Great video as always Chris! Agree the over the shoulder camera angle is a great view! Really shows how much you have to work to control the old iron, and how much it works you over! I think you need a name for the new machine. I’m thinking Simba.

Probably so they didn't get crossed when the cylinders were rebuilt. Good practice to get into because it was "broke in" on that side. Good mechanics don't need to mark them both, nowdays some people do🙄
It looks like a good running machine. Sure sounds strong, even rolls a little coal as well. It`s hard going from diff-steer or hydro to the clutch and brake but your getting it figured out.
Had a operator with thousands of hrs in the old iron tell me, once the blade hits the dirt thats how u steer. And he is right using the pitch in the blade when doing heavy work is the best on the machine.
Looks like you got a good machine there. Try putting a little tilt on the blade when pushing up the stumps. It will give you a little extra hydraulic power as you start to push the stumps up you can take the tilt out for a little more leverage.
That old D6 got some power behind that blade. Seems to do a good job. I agree with the other comments about you should know your left and right without the cue card on the cylinder.😁

I’ve kinda become a TH-cam addict because of your channel, Dirt Perfect and many others. Keep up the great work. Allen in Atlanta
the D6 pushes real good, dont see much slippage of steering clutches or trans. tracks and rollers look good .. there seems to be a couple of track pins stuck on right track.
That is a quick machine. I had to check playback speed twice to make sure it was set to normal. She can dig a big hole with those tracks when you find a stubborn stump. Awesome machine.

I am impressed by your new dozer. If ever I saw a machine that is willing to work it is this yellow slabside. Before you go to the expensive and time consuming trouble of replacing the seal, try something like AT 205 re-seal. It's a plastizer that rejuvenates old seals. I used it once on an old diesel with a rear main leak and it fixed it. People swear by it. Lucas, Bar's and other companies make similar products.
I am impressed by your new dozer. If ever I saw a machine that is willing to work it is this yellow slabside. From the first time you started him he showed willingness, started quickly, did not need any cosseting, you point out a stump, he just says: "We'll get it when we get there." He needs a name, Samson or Dannyboy or just some dependable name. I already like him a lot.
