Seems to me that, considering how much you're gonna replace, you might as well design a car on a computer and build it. Rebuilding this and replacing 80-90% of the car and then saying it was rebuild seems a little odd.

Not a fan of building a truck, without the actual truck. If your replacing 90% of what's there, why buy the truck in the first place.

In order to get the VIN number to register and license it. You have to have a certain percentage of the original vehicle used in order to register it. If you don't have that you have to either register it as a kit car or go through a heck of a lot of paperwork and time to get a VIN number for it, and then you may even be required to register it as the year you built it and not the year model of what it looks like, and both of those things can cause headaches when trying to insure as well.

That's the way you build a cool ride. You pull a old truck in the shop then push it back out and order a whole new truck. This makes know sense at all. Love watching the Gasmonkey builds but this is not making a old truck look new. Sorry that's just my opinion about this one. Would have loved to seen the old truck rebuilt.
I have a question if you're using an all-new frame and you're using all new sheet metal what part of that truck is going to be original besides maybe the grill cuz the way it's looking it's not going to be much of that truck is original except for the grill just asking🤔

Richard is right y'all are a bunch of haters they are modifying a truck, hell even gm bought parts from other companies no manufacturer makes all the parts to make the vehicles THEY BUY PARTS from other manufacturers to build the cars and trucks

The only thing i don't like is the slammed part for such trucks, all of these cool builds should have at least 5 inch in height clearance

you mean the spark plug n tune up part changers ya have are gonna build a truck or ya bringing outside builders to build it as you keep your guys doing brake jobs and tune ups well i guess atleast ya bought all the parts and nothing needs fabbed so your parts n tune up guys just have to put the parts together should be a tough build better call aron if ya need fab work done lmfao

Bolt or not, you seem entertained enough to watch, and don't think it isn't a real jobs doing it. I build off-road rigs for a living and yet most of it is bolt on but It takes skill in order to do real suspension work like I do. Most people think it's blocks and shocks. But a real long travel or long arm kit is quite intuitive and takes a patient and well measured out procedures and proper welding

“Every which way but loose” Clint Eastwood film had the Chevy truck version… while the second movie “Any which way you can” had the GMC version…..same color in both movies and I guess they thought few would notice the difference….it’s really those dual lights that give it away 👍🏻😎

By chance I watched them both yesterday they were on in the UK, even I noticed different trucks and were not into pickups in the UK.

I'm looking for my lost 1976 gmc Sierra from the battle mountain nevada school district. It was white someone painted it with a roller and I was 18 when I bought it for 600 dollars. If u have my truck it yours but I would like to know it's still alive out there. Lol 😅
No offense to the last guy that worked there but... he needed gone. This new crew is on the money. The other guy's communication skills were some of the worst ever (the regular guy from a month or more ago). When Richard would ask him a question, he'd just give an answer. Zero. Richard would have to prey info out of him on what he was doing. Horrible. Zero enthusiasm.
So...if every part of this truck was sourced from the aftermarket, what was the point of buying the clapped out original? A title?....Having an original VIN attached to this build could be worth more than I know. Maybe I should recant this post but I'm going to send it any way....There I went.

For those of that don’t understand, first of all most original frames are usually toast and these frames cannot accept modern engines and transmissions. It is Breyer to either a new frame. This is also a show build not a daily driver big difference. Also ask yourself if one of these trucks are wrecked and several body panels are replaced it’s still an original vehicle. Also the time it takes to sandblast, cut out rust, weld in patches, then body fill and sand, much cheaper to purchase new sheet metal.
Yeah going old school. Custom frame and fuel injection. Gotcha.😂

The truck you started with was a Chevrolet because it had coil springs, all the GMC trucks had leaf springs. I know because I have a 1972 GMC short bed step side

A reupholstered seat frame? LOL It's an expensive Revell model at this point.
