I now fountain pens are your "thing," but would love to see what you think about some EDC type of pens for guys who use their pen as part of their job. I'm a journalist, but lots of guys -- contractors, surveyors, doctors, etc. -- use their pen as part of their job. Just curious what you think. I tend to carry a Parker Jotter and an O'Pen mini.
I have a few videos on some EDC type pens, specifically the CIVIVI C Quill Bolt Action Pen and the Zebra F-301 ballpoint pen. They can be found in the playlist linked below. I do plan on doing more videos about EDC pens in the future and your suggestion has sparked a bunch of ideas. Thanks for watching, my friend and thank you for the great suggestion! @@DavidBurge-xf8zxJournalist eh? I write alot. I was going to do a breakdown of 30 different pen bodies with 10 different refills that don't come standard with them. That olight is pretty bad. The Jotter is underated but still didn't make my top 5. There are alot of hyped pens like the rotring 600. A really good suggestion is the zebra sarasa R. All the zebra pens just like pilot and jetstream write different. People say think the same line of pens at same size write the same. Im guessing its different ink formulas
I don’t know much about these types pens , I will tell you though I have no problem watching your videos all the way through, you do put in a great show.
I'm glad you enjoy the videos! Thank you for the kind words; really means a lot to me. Thanks for watching, my friend and have a wonderful rest of your week!
That is a neat pen. I will admit that i have never used a pen like that nor the fountain pens like that. Pretty cool. You have a wonderful evening and a wonderful weekend my friend. 🙏🏻🙏🏻✒️🔏
I like the idea of dip pens as a novelty, but actually using one daily would be a total pain. My anxiety with those open bottles on the writing surface would be through the roof. Still, can't deny the marketing material hit the nail on the head, much easier to clean than a converter/cartridge pen, and much quicker to change ink colors too.
They are a little tedious compared to a fountain pen, but the ability to quickly change between ink colors is a big plus. It is a some what unsettling writing with an open ink bottle, just need to be aware of it at all times. I have found they work better with a the wider ink bottle like the Lamy 50 ml or Diamine 80 ml bottles. Where the taller skinnier bottles, like the Diamine 30 ml, are harder to use and could easily tip over if hit. Thanks for watching, my friend and have a wonderful week!
Dip pens are used with inkwells - put there just enough ink to cover the hole in the nib and not more. No one sane leaves a full bottle of ink open on the table. For obvious reason, lol, but also because ink dries in the open air. Also, when you use dib pen paper particles are left on the nib, so it is not a good idea to put that in your ink bottle.

I love mine for making my ink swatches. Much better than the glass pen I used before.

The old scholars were in great distress to write with such a pen!
You need first thing a big heart and then a tremendous ability of patience.

It's pronounced Ear-oh Oot-sushi. Thanks for the review!
He pronounced the う part of utsushi correctly as an euhw sound like the sound between e and w in "mew"
