Very happy to have this on youtube as I wasn't able to watch it live, but would REALLY prefer it to be the IMSA TV feed. The continuous RLM feed is just the best.
IMSA needs to pulls this and stick it back up with Radio Lemans audio. All the others use that. I could understand a switch at a start of a new season. Unless of course they screwed up and can't sync the audio for some reason. Either way the commentary and audio from radio lemans is heaps better.
For those how want the Radio Lemans crew. The race (YT) starts at 8:45 and the Radiolemans podcast Race Hour 1 should be sync +-1 sec when set to 5:39. Havent watched the whole race yet but it worked fine for me for Race Hour 1. Should be nearly synced, best to hear when switching to onboard cam. Just pause the video or commentary until its perfectly synced. Good luck and enjoy. :)

Remember when IMSA posted the hot mic audio during commercials a couple years ago between Bob Varsha, Dorsey Schroeder, and Calvin Fish? That was awesome and MUCH better than silence

It still amazes me that Broadcasters feel we want to watch people sitting in the paddock watching screens, or we want to move away from the race to watch an interview with a driver who either just got out of a car, or who is going to be getting into a car. The questions and answers are always the same. We All know, they want to drive, fast, to win, or do the best they can with the car they have. Honestly, tell me, is there ANYONE out there who wants to watch a driver interview while the race is going on? ANYONE?? No, if they want to make it a Picture-in-Picture then do that. KEEP THE RACE ON THE SCREEN! Also, those long shots from the Blimp or whatever airship is flying overhead? We can't see the race with those shots either. There is a single reason spectators want to watch the race and that is because we want to see the race. THE RACE.. The Cars on the track, Pit Stops. That's why we watch. Nothing fancy needs to be added. You aren't impressing anyone.

Why the NBC commentators and not John Hindhaugh, Jeremy Shaw and Shea Adam? Sure, I'm an Aussie and don't mind Leigh Diffey so much, but to us, Hindhaugh, Shaw and Adam are the voices of the IMSA WeatherTech Series.
Indeed. As an American myself I play this video for the pictures but sync it up with Radio LeMans. It just isn't right without the trio we know and love.
Absolute offense to the NBC crew. They have too many people covering the commentary. The commercial break cut music is painful and happens every 35 seconds. Its basically a 5 hour advertisement with interviews. I was looking forward to this first half of the race but it was ruined by mainstream media coverage. It's sad because their coverage years back was amazing

The 10min commentary and then 2/3min commercial breaks are so damn disruptive to your viewing experience. Watching le mans on dutch commercial tv was far less disruptive. Still glad I'm able to watch these races

IMSA I think you know you failed here with this upload. I would hope you are addressing it with a re-upload with IMSA radio. Do the right thing for the fans.

Not only does NBCSN's coverage of this race make IMSA look really bad for letting them do it but the BOP of the DPI's doesn't really seem to be there. The number 6 seems to have an obvious unfair advantage when it can run away from even the team #7 car.
Leave it to NBC to totally F-up it's broadcast of an IMSA Event by "Commercial Free" when there is total silence for long periods followed by "Brought to you by" sponsorship ads. This is why American Broadcasts suck so badly. It's never about the event, it's always about the sponsors and advertisements. This REALLY SUCKS!

Guys, I think Hindy and Jeremy are great too but I don't get the hate for this commentary team. I mean, you cannot get closer to the action than a guy (Bell) who is literally going to be driving in the race later. And who can hate the mayor of Hinchtown?! I watch a lot of Indy as well as sportscar racing so maybe I'm just more used to hearing them. The silent ad breaks are annoying as Hell though.

NBC's commentary was some of the worst I have ever heard and I've been watching and going to races for many, many years. That, plus the endless commercials were almost criminal. I didn't mind the silent breaks as I didn't have to listen to the stupid NBCSN commentators, esp. Kevin Lee. We want Hindy, Jeremy, and Shea!

I disagree. I fell in love with the sound of large-displacement, naturally-aspirated, flat-plane-crank V8s with the GT350, and the C8R is even more hellacious. It's still got way more low-end than anything else that can rev nearly as high, but it just keeps screaming well past the redline of anything else with nearly as much rumble. It's almost unnatural, like a small block was possessed by Beelzebub and forced to growl in agony as it tears itself apart. It sounds demented in the best possible way.

There's no sound but video when they go to commercial. We still see the race without interruption.
