3:26 This is one of my favorite Pac-Man tricks. It may be inconsistent, but it's worth a shot. And it's pretty satisfying to pull off, too. Your opponent expects you to throw Galaxian at them, but a second later, they're being abducted by it.
I main Pac-man in Ultimate and in Smash 4. I have been working on him with combos, dodging techniques, and all sorts of other stuff. I'm liking how you're doing him. Hell you even use the same color I use for his alternate color. White! Also, one of your combos/traps with the key is great to do. But one I like to do, is get the key charged, set down fire hydrant, wait for the water sprut and then throw the key, that way it sends the fire hydrant in the air and the key on the ground covering both air and ground at the same time making it harder for the opponent to avoid in both regions.
I have some ledge tricks I came up with You can fight on the ledge the entire time and hit hydrant in 4-5 different ways The difference between this is your opponents on the stage and you play off the ledge on purpose With counter moves
I think it'd be great if you made a video with Held Item Attacks specifically with Pacman's fruits. Its a more recent tech found and significantly upgrades our early percent fruit combos.

You can do preform the scoop hydrant by placing the hydrant, hit it once with a attack, and then on the second the water comes out throw any fruit but keys, to launch behind you.

Here are a few you missed: Cherry into Up-Smash [when cherry is in your hand] F-tilt into Key [at certain percents, especially offstage] And the classic Hydrant-Smash attack hitstun technique, which Wario mains tend to appreciate [Tea uses this in a few of his sets] A lot of your tech later in the video can be difficult or situational to pull off. To the beginner Pac-main, or players like me who are lazy, these shorter combos can be beneficial.
I practiced applegun in slow motion on training, particularly the variant where you foxtrot whiff hydrant and throw apple into the hydrant. This can be difficult at faster speed, but well worth practicing. It’s just hilarious, and while the timing is strict, it gets noticeably easier the more you practice. It can be consistent if your timing is good (which most Pac mains are from all the perfect Pac-man parries I’ve seen)

Great video! So great, it made me want to search for more traps, I believe I have a one to contribute today! One of your traps was Z-dropping the Galaxian to launch the hydrant after a delay. I have a way to do that with the Melon that I call "Happy New Year". Simply have a Melon stored, drop a Hydrant, run off B-reverse Melon into it to hit it the first time. Then, shorthop jump over to the other side of the Hydrant, Z-catching the Melon on the way. The next part's tricky: you want to clip into the side of the Hydrant slightly, and Up-Throw. If you did it right, the Melon will slowly drop and hit the Hydrant after a couple seconds. It's quite jank, but it does have a few benefits: it's a weird ritual that confuses the opponent, it can be used entirely under some platforms (like PS2s), it keeps you on the floor throughout most of it, and you can mix it up by up-throwing the melon at a slight distance to have the water push it instead. An easier version can also be performed where you simply do a fullhop and down-throw the Melon into the Hydrant to get a similar delayed launch.
Oooh I've seen a variation on this one on Twitter. What they do instead was after z catching melon they just clip into the hydrant and up throw on the same side (rather than switching). Still switching sides could throw the opponent off
Here's something that no-one seems to know about Pac-Man: If you use the trampoline right on top of the hydrant, the water jets will still shoot up. :)
Ok you should have done the ledge trap. Hydrant on ledge Walk of stage BACK AIR Then while falling jump up air It makes the hydrant flip around on the stage and 1 if 3 things will happen 1: they get hit by hydrant and up air 2: they hit hydrant and get hit by up air 3: they shield giving you time to grab them and back grow or hold them and hydrant will hit them. Also back air hydrant let it push you off ledge while charging bell Throw bell though bottom of stage hitting hydrant causing it to flip and hop opponent going for hydrant attack
That's a super useful trap as well, but I chose the ones I did because they're a bit more elaborate and flashy. Still a very good trap to use though nonetheless!

I want so badly to be a Pac-Man main, but he’s so difficult that I tend to get stomped every game, and occasionally I’ll do some big brain thing that makes me look sick 😂 I will say that the tech with grabbing fruit off the hydrant is helpful. It’s made getting fruit into my hand a lot easier. Especially apple which I tend to combo with a lot
those ledge traps are really good but they fail if your opponent drops from ledge into double jump air dodge or smth else but all ledeg traps fail against that.
That basically has the same vulnerability as doing a neutral getup since you have to be above the ledge before you enter your airdodge, so you can still get hit by Hydrant or the Fruit depending on the setup
Hey I got a simple one I call it "trampoline trap" Up B near the edge (make sure the opponent didn't grab the edge, also make sire there's no other platform below you) three times. Then yeet your opponent ti yhe trampoline . The opponent will immediately turn into freefalling mode, and had no choice but to fall all the way to the blast zone, and die. I really appreciate replies on thos trick if I got a mistake of it's too simple
Does anyone else notice that finishing off the hydrant with Up-Smash has more horizontal trajectory than vertical? I’ve tried to hit it at a more vertical angle with it but it’s not as shown in this video,does anyone know why? Thanks
Good question! This is because this video was made before Path 3.1.0, where they changed the angle of the first hit of up-smash so it combos better. This is why it launches a lot more horizontally

@@fettugenie749 Sweet spot is another factor that could contribute, but if you've hit your opponent with back air already, the move incrementally does less damage over time, meaning after you hit it once or twice it won't be enough to break hydrant with a jab after
Brief update: after patch 3.1.0 changing the hitbox on the first hit of up-smash, scoop hydrant (tech #2) doesn't work anymore sadly

Ultimate is harder in general. As you get better and faster, you’ll find Smash 4 to be much slower.

For Scoop Hydrant you also need to be dashing into hydrant right after back air lands for it to be picked up.

those ledge traps are really good but they fail if your opponent drops from ledge into double jump air dodge or smth else but all ledeg traps fail against that.
