  • The Story of Andre Iguodala's One Year with the Denver Nuggets. Kevin Durant is often though of as a snake for leaving the OKC Thunder for going to a team that beat him but what about Andre Iguodala? Is it fair to label him that? Was he right for not agreeing with George Karl's tactics? Iguodala, Kenneth Faried and the Denver Nuggets lost to Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors in the 2013 playoffs then signed with them in the offseason

      CaineLovesCali the basketball fan base are the most softest weakest people I've ever known. so because he goes to the Warriors you're going to hate him even though he already went to another team before. If anyone hates Iguodala you are an idiot and don't understand how basketball is played.

    From memory, I think the issue was not just playing Steph tough, but sticking feet out, getting under him and trying to hurt him. Remember, at this stage Steph had a long history of ankle injuries. I think that is where Andre felt that George Karl crossed the line.

      And hey, I'm glad of the success the Nuggets are having this year. Jokic has been a revelation...and you guys who super smart in ditching Nurkic instead. I do wish y'all could have gotten Mirotic, though. I think he'd be a great offensice fit next to the Joker, though it would open their defense up a bit.

      Just defense holding us back. One good defensive player in the draft like we got this year in Jarred Vanderbilt and a signing like Ariza/Smart and Denver would be a lock for the 3rd seed maybe even 2nd counting in improvement of the young team and Houston declining

      Utah and Denver both have that altitude advantage and both always have good home records even when they have down years. I feel Denver takes advantage of it better though because they always run run run, and run some more. I guess Utah just used physicality to tire teams out.

Because nothing’s guaranteed, so if he got injured if that fourth year, and they wanted to get rid of him they’d have to buy him out or trade him but he’d still get paid. We all know how it actually turned out now but at the time he was offered 60 mil over 5 years vs 48 mil over 4. That’s more money offered.

      @jdmrchem5 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Vitor Hara I didn't say that KD and Iggy are the same types of snakes. It is implied that Iggy was a snake before KD made his decision to join the Warriors to pull a snake move based on the time frame that it happened. They are snakes, but with different actions. I personally found KD worse than Iggy given that I respected Iggy's impact during the 2015 Finals at that time. I hope I didn't create a misunderstanding about this. Even though the actions are different, the same theme is there: backstabbing the previous organization and fans.

    I respect player morality more than player freedom. Andre Iguodala always prided himself on playing clean basketball and he wouldn't being interested in being part of the 2nd Coming of the Bad Boy Pistons. He and KD left for the same reason - the environments of the teams they were playing for made it hard to have fun on the court. They didn't want to stay AND they kept getting beat by the same team that had the must fun on AND off the court. It's a no-brainer.

    • @b-radg916
      @b-radg916 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jomanro: Yep. Iggy didn't like playing with a team that wanted to play dirty, and KD didn't like playing with Westbrook (and not many others seem to want to either).

    He said he wanted to stay before he got to know the organization. He then decided that their views differed. Iggy is a nice guy and if the Nuggets did try and play dirty to hurt Curry, they should have realized that would ruin their relationship with some of their players.
    Oh and lets not forget Gallinari was out for that playoff series. The Nuggets lacked shooting because of it. Corey Brewer picked up the bulk of Gallinari's minutes and he is a inconsistent shooter to say the least.

He had a great opportunity to play with a team (Warriors) that he saw so much potential in and he took it as a free agent. You can't be mad at that at all. I am happy that he has his championship rings to prove that he made the right decision to leave Denver and sign with the Warriors.

    I havent heard many complaints from Denver fans about Iggy, but I will say this. They have absolutely NO right to be upset with him. 1) A player admitting he doesnt like a team actually being dirty as a gameplan? Thats not snitching. Thats being real and a true competitor. 2) Nuggets were one of the best teams in the NBA that season. No business being down 3-1 to that pretty crappy Warriors team without D-Lee. 3) They shouldve actually forced game 7. Only true Warriors fans remember the "COLLAPSE THAT NEVER WAS". Warriors got lucky WAY out of their ass in game 6. Almost blew a 20pt lead or something and barely escaped in the final minutes. Nuggets easily couldve forced game 7.

Back when tickets were $12 and it came with a free hot dog. Compared that to the most recent Warrior game which cost me $350. A price I was able to pay only because I learned about seizing opportunities in life and climbed the corporate ladder. This is something Iggy knows about, not only as a baller, but also as a savvy business man and knowledge I'm trying to explain to you.
