That moment when u just went out to the wall from outer wall grace and seeing the majestic sight of Gransax and the capital with the erdtree, with envoys' horn soundtrack, that was phenomenal for me. Until much later they became annoying wih the bubbles.
I always figured that they were indeed the Albinaurics that went to the Haligtree, since it is stated in Loretta's descriptions that she led the Albinaurics there for safety. As for the blood difference, it's quite possible that they've been modified by the Haligtree, much like all the other servants of Malenia and Miquella.
I'm a bit surprised you didn't mention that the clay men are apparently looking for them, based on the descriptions of their bubble spells. I have no clue what that implies, other than that the oracle envoys possibly date back to the civilization that build the ancient ruin architecture such as uld palace and the structure that became moghwyn palace. The bubble sorceries seemingly being a sorcery-based mimicry of the holy damage bubbles made by the envoy horns is interesting and could have some pretty broad implications.
It's been a while since I've played so excuse my lack of...words. Anything to their magic? They use bubble magic. The, uh, "clay" guys down underground also use bubble magic. I remember the clay guys magic being about "oracles." It seems unlikely that there isn't some connection between two groups using "bubble magic." Thanks for the videos. At this point you're my number one lore channel. The examination of in-game assets provides important context clues to what is or what might be.
We wrote a whole lore vid on how they could be connected to the albinaurics but the fact that they drop the white flesh and we're labeled as moon servants pretty much shoots that idea down. Now they feel more like a creature who had their lore separated from their use in-game. Zulie's data dives are incredible.
We interpret the horn as an instrument but what if it's like a listening horn and they're trying to listen for something in the cosmos that is approaching? Definitely not the case but I want more cosmic horror
Love the implication here that they're actually much more alien beings than they look and their mouth actually functions as an ear. An ear that can blow. Amazing I love it
The Outer Gods are ripe with potential cosmic horror and I expect at least a little more info on at least one of them from future DLC. The scorpion stinger dagger says it's a relic from a sealed outer god of rot, that implies it's a giant scorpion like God that is sealed away somewhere. Unlike something like the Formless Mother, who does not inhabit a physical form and seems to be some dimension of sentient fireblood that Mohg opens a portal to and grabs some to throw at you as an attack. There's all kinds of weirdness to get deeper into, those are just the two outer gods I find are less talked about but I have some info about. I can't imagine they plan for DLC and don't divulge a little info or give us a peak at something. Dark Souls 1 and 3 had some incredible DLC that let us time travel to the past and to the future, showing us things we would have never known otherwise (like where Oolacile was and went or how the numerous ages of fire turn the entire world into a giant ash desert at the end of time).
@@The_Fat_Turtle The god of rot was sealed under the lake of rot by the blind swordsman, who if I remember correctly was the mentor of Malenia. That's also why those rot insects are gathered in the grand cloister, it's close to their god.

@@Sinhsseax They're the ones that float around in Norkron and a few other locations and they glow. I don't know the lore of them, but they are pretty and I really like them I wish there were more of them tbh.
There is actually a quest relating to them. You get the ashes for a jellyfish spirit early on from Roderika. She calls the spirit "Aurelia" and if you bring Aurelia to her brother in the mountaintops, they will fade away together and grant access to a cellar below. You can also find what is supposedly their graves around there. That is why I assume, that all jellyfish are dead children.
@@Sinhsseax aaah I see I didn't know about that one that's interesting and also sad. Since you get the spirit ashes from Rodericka and because she is tied to Godrick's lore I guess it would make sense that the jellyfish are the spirits of the children they grafted especially since she refers to them as "the little ones". Now I'm sad for the jellyfish babies.
I absolutely love these things. Easily one of my favorite enemies ever and I really wish we could get a non-hostile one, à la Ornifex. Also want to throw my hat on the side of 'automatically thought of Lovecraft' when seeing them and reading their item descriptions.
I imagine that the "long lost oracles" that the Claymen seek "in their bubbles" are the Oracle envoys who might have heralded their dynasty's rise to power. Hoping to see them appear again is them clinging to a long lost hope.
I want to believe the Heralds were at the Haligtree for Miquella. Before he was kidnapped by Mhog he was in a caccoon within the Haligtree in order to age up and ascend to godhood. Perhaps he was reaching the level with f divinity sparking the Heralds’ appearance before he got snatched.
i never thought too hard about the oracle envoys because they seemed like mostly a cool way to add a diagetic sondtrack to places like leyndell or the haligtree
The envoys remind me a lot of descriptions of the Court Of Azathoth in Cthulhu mythos. In the domain of this seemingly mindless god of chaos, amorphous flute players gather, tooting their instruments in worship. Given that Elden Ring has no shortage of cosmic horror inspiration, I can see these creatures being the servants of some incomprehensible cosmic will, just here as a pleasantry, blowing their horns to sound in a new age.
I never once looked at these things close enough to realize it was a hat. I just assumed they were monsters and a tribute to the mushroom people from Dark Souls.
Their round legless lower half remind me of daruma statues, which are apparently a depiction of a zen monk that meditated for so long that his legs disappeared.

What's under their big weird hat? My guess would be their big weird head.
I love this lore - thank you for all these videos with a modder's eye!
I never knew getting hit by bubbles could hurt so much.
Great video, Zullie.
The moon connection would certainly explain why they’re so round
I haven't played elden ring, or any souls game very extensively in the past, but I really enjoy these trivia videos youre making.
I really do love your videos; the simple shot of the oracle looking up at Godwyn is just perfect, it implies so much
Always a pleasure, Zullie!
This is my absolute favorite Elden Ring channel
I remember the clay guys magic being about "oracles." It seems unlikely that there isn't some connection between two groups using "bubble magic."
Thanks for the videos.
Zelda Music fits so well in the elden ring verse! Love how you use it for most of your vids!
I find it funny how the tall one's instrument makes this very low quality MIDI sound
We interpret the horn as an instrument but what if it's like a listening horn and they're trying to listen for something in the cosmos that is approaching? Definitely not the case but I want more cosmic horror
Pale legless beings manifesting out of thin air to sound horns because they're sensing the coming of a new god is kind of cosmic horror already.
@@The_Fat_Turtle The God of Rot, is sealed under the Lake of Rot if i am not mistaken.
@@The_Fat_Turtle The god of rot was sealed under the lake of rot by the blind swordsman, who if I remember correctly was the mentor of Malenia. That's also why those rot insects are gathered in the grand cloister, it's close to their god.
The best part of these videos is the Zelda music
would be neat to imagine their bodies consisting only a big set of lungs to doot-doot all days along, crafted specie just to make a herald announcing the gods.
I'm happy we have an answer as to why they were outside the Haligtree
Oracle envoys are pretty cool but it’s a shame there’s not a lot of information we can get off of them.🐱
I like the mystery.
these are some of my favorite character designs in the game, along with the translucent jellyfish. I think they look really unique and quite cool, even if they are silly if you take the wrappings off.
The transluscent jellyfish?
Do you mean the dead children?
Jeez Zullie, so violent! The poor meat bag never knew what hit it.
I call them diaper gurus and my friends absolutely hate it
I saw a notification saying "Elden Ring - Mostly disappointment" without the context of the thumbnail and I was ready to throw hands
Bloodborne water professor vibes. Except they doot instead of spill cosmic goo
Probably my favorite enemies in the game. The mystery is so palpable.
"First you honk, then you bonk!" ~ Nameless Tarnished
I really appreciate the non-clickbait nature of the video title.
Their weird little arms made me think of the arm coming out of the cocoon in Mohg's cutscene.
The spatter when you hit the oracles is identical to the spatter from Elden Beast which probably means they're connected even more so than before
Can't wait to play as Baby Oracle in Elden Kart
Somehow I never realized that they had humanoid faces. Thanks Zullie!
They could be at the erdtree awaiting the blooming of the goddess of rot.
I absolutely love these things. Easily one of my favorite enemies ever and I really wish we could get a non-hostile one, à la Ornifex.
Also want to throw my hat on the side of 'automatically thought of Lovecraft' when seeing them and reading their item descriptions.
At first I was like "ha ha funny enemy." Then the big one in Haligtree. THE HORROR!
I’m gonna edit this, but my prediction is that they low key look like those cliche grey aliens with big eyes.
Edit: it was so much worse
Mfs are just arms and half a head lmao
I imagine that the "long lost oracles" that the Claymen seek "in their bubbles" are the Oracle envoys who might have heralded their dynasty's rise to power. Hoping to see them appear again is them clinging to a long lost hope.
"Elden Ring - Mostly Dissapointment"
Damn, that's raw.
Definitevly my favourite Elden Ring enemy design
They signal my arrival but they continue to blow bubbles at me? Heathens!
The entirety of Elden Ring feels like a "to be continued", as if we are just part of the introduction to a long story
love the song used for this video
Oh wow, I didn't realize they were holding my future beneath their clothes
i never thought too hard about the oracle envoys because they seemed like mostly a cool way to add a diagetic sondtrack to places like leyndell or the haligtree
Wow! Was wondering when you’d make a video about these trumpet bois after your last video! What a coincidence
Man that title spiked my heart rate for a second
One thing that ties them to the moon is their shape. Big, white and round.
