At first it looks like it's just all smashed up. Once you get up on it you realize all it needs is the skins(like you said). The floors, trunk, inner fenders a rails all look good. The car is most definitely worth restoring. Nice save, I love when moors are saved. I've got a 66 charger 383 4 spd project myself.

i am curious about these types of finds. do you do a vin check to confirm not stolen before going after it. sure would suck to go thru all the effort just to have it come up stolen.

amazing--- you created a new genre--- a ravine-find. really appreciate your passion for the old stuff. I have a 72 Swinger old lady car, all original 318 2bbl/904 with 119K miles that I got 2 years ago. Put 13,000 miles on it in six months before it lost oil pressure. was thinking about putting a late model magnum truck motor in it, but will just have the 318 rebuilt....

I know a lot of people believe saving this car would be a waste of time and effort considering it's condition and missing parts but when you consider all the spliced together unit body abominations lurking around today perhaps that's not the case. The car's floor, frame and basic body structure is just the way it was when it left the factory half a century ago. That's more than one can say for some of the restored junk you see nowadays. It's definitely a sensible project for the right builder.

Great Video. A lot of guys couldn't see the end results of this car plus they don't have your Talent. It pays to be young. I miss doing cars like this. Still work on them and Drive them like Hell, just not as young or the energy.

If that Thunderbird had gone into the ravine it might not have been found for weeks or longer. The highways in the Nevada desert are deadly, and they are lined with white crosses. For some reason it is so easy to drift off the road and there are small boulders everywhere looking to be the next widow maker.

I love this car! Like you said look at the floors and rails! Who gives a shit the sheet metal is mangled! That's easy to restore compared to a rot box you have to do everything underneath! Wish I had gotten it I'd built her!!! In albany New York we don't find anything like this and if someone has a charger on their property they want 10 grand for sometime with the leaf springs going thru the trunk floor! Props man love the channel! Mark worman claims to be the mopar master but we all know who the real one is!!!

I'm curious if you will ever leave a car dressed in full ravine-patina,,, bullit holes and all . I think that would be very cool,,, stomped roof and all. Just put front & rear glass,,,, make the doors simply close & open. You probably think I am crazy. It would be the first ravine/patina car I ever saw.

that car will more than likely cost easily twice as much to restore to just a driver, let alone a show worthy car, than you could buy a pristine one all ready done. I found a way nicer 1970 Barracuda in very similar circumstances except for it would not roll anymore. Went through a lot of crap to get it loaded on a trailer and get it home only to find the frame rails on both sides front to rear, that looked very solid from the outside, could be crushed just by squeezing them with your hand. Well I got lots of good parts off it to sell anyway. Obviously this guy has the time, money, ability, place, and equipment to do a restoration of this caliber and I guarantee at some point he will ask himself "what did I get into here"??? But good luck!
