An interesting mix there. I always think only way to truly judge is by trying. Plus a lot of what is considered by some as "mystical" is explained in psychological terms, and it's often the top teachers who are most derided. Their work is sometime mis-represented, sometimes difficult to understand. Also, a lot of the clips you included were not Systema. Thanks.
In my earnest opinion I would recommend going to a sanctioned Systema school and try it out. I am a 20 judo veteran and I train and teach Systema. It’s a wonderful art that has many health benefits and can help if you need to fight for your life. Have a blessed day.
Systema looks like it is centred around a principle. That principle is non resistance, which is also central to Judo and Jujitsu. Yielding to an attackers force can be an effective strategy and is seen in Boxing and wrestling systems. It is also true to say that aggressive use of force can also be highly effective. Some people are great counter attackers, whilst others adopt a more aggressive style. It doesn’t matter which one you adopt, but it does matter how good you get at doing it. If someone is really good at a jab, followed by a single leg tackle, followed by mount position and then ground and pound they will be very difficult to defend against. This is because they are good at doing something to someone else and if that other person is not good at countering that game plan then it will succeed every time it is used. Even if you don’t know how to counter a jab, you will get hit every time.
Sounds like a keyboard warrior with no mat or street experience. I know plenty of Systema guys who have been in real combat situations all over the world, it works. And if you do not address the spiritual aspect of human existence, you have already sabataged your training and more.
That was a good even analysis. Really, it is in the hands of the instructor. Closeness to the sorce can only be a thing for so long, as the source will one day pass away, and then, like any other art, it will progress and grow or stagnate and fade.
Systema and Kraw Mage are opposite, not similar. On Systema you dont know how you will react, you reacting intuitive. Kraw maga you learn technics how to respond. On Systema you learn how to move and body mechanics - on Kraw maga u use more speed and power
Believe me, it was. But it didnt had that much common with many videos you find online. You are right, most of the times demos of the special forces are named "combat sambo", because systema as a term is quite new. The original name was "combat sambo spetsnaz" or "rukopashnii boii". Some demos are even called "kadochnikov-system" or "ruski stil". Hope i could help you, sorry for my bad english
met a foemer spetz guy, he always said they were trained in sambo and other martial arts like boxing and they even had a training do demonstrate in public, but never showed off about systema although some of them were actually very skilled systema practitioners
@@bangermccrusher thats true. All spets trained sambo, karate, boxing or some "basic" martial arts. There are two big misconceptions about the relation between spetsnaz and systema. 1. Only very few spetsnaz learned the systema method! Mostly soviet special forces from the kgb or the GRU, some airborne too. 2. It wasnt called systema. There where different styles of "systema" that were called "combat sambo spetsnaz", "ruski stil","kadochnikov system", "ross" or "rukopashnii boii". If you have some questions, i try to explain and answer everything🤙
The old KGB were crazy, things got chaotic after the Berlin Wall came down and no one wants to risk becoming the one who trained civilians too intensely without rehabilitation after and a military level of supervision.
@@bangermccrusher You've probably heard them say things like 'other martial arts' are demonic and make people too 'irritable'. Kadochnikov school said their students were in disarray after they weren't allowed to rehabilitate an overtrained / badly trained military unit, one of whom killed someone they shouldn't have. I suspect you don't know as much as you think you do about what Systema is. Vladimir didn't get clearance to learn more after he left the military then Mikhail got involved with a Russian Minister for Justice and was allowed to supervise Vladimir's school. Did you hear at some point you have to train with Vladimir or an instructor he qualified before you're allowed to train with Mikhail? There's actually some kind of clearance agreement behind that which was high level. If you're a civilian planning on training with other students of Kadochnikov, make sure they know you're a civilian or they might be upset.
@@hypramgeth7449 well...almost 20 yrs ago I heard a story about vladimir teaching what he was taught in the spetsnaz but the students started to Fck people up badly in street fights so Ryabko had to talk to him and tell him to slow down and teach them more relaxation and movement. Dont know if true, its just a story

In Goju Karate we do breath training. We get made fun of at times too.
Great matial arts

Very even handed. Great commentary.

No research was done to make this video.
I am not even sure if Systema really is a military ma. On every Speznas combat demo you see Combat Sambo and not Systema.

How can the current systema is a water down version? People who teach systema always claim it too dangerous for the cage.

Never heard Vladimir or Ryabko say that, dont lie.
