  • 🟠 Title: Wild America 'Time of the Grizzly'
🟠 Summary: The Grizzly Bear is funny and ferocious, a quivering coward and a daring hero, easily tamed yet forever wild. This disappearing giant is one of the most contradictory and complex of all our animal ideas. In this program, the entire spectrum of our attitudes toward the Grizzly are examined as well as the animal itself. Rare footage reveals the birth of tiny cubs during the female's winter denning.

I am 58 years old and I still remember watching this every Sunday afternoon with my dad along with mutual of Omaha, and reading the funnies out of the Sunday morning paper

That Caribou x Bear standoff is pretty spectacular! The natural cycle continues, always, like it was meant to be.

I know right! I was genuinely surprised to see a bear take down a boo. And the bear was so self-assured and clever about it. Fascinating.

I will always remember the scene in Jeremiah Johnson when after the old mountain man runs across him ask "Say pilgrim, can you skin a grizz?" And Johnson's reply "Grizz". "Grizzy bear pilgrim". Then the chase is on.

My question would be, do bears have the option of crossbreeding?

I've always attracted bears to my campsite...they've always been nice...as long as I feed them, which of course I happily oblige...

I think if everybody did that animals would be nicer towards everyone....

Keep feeding the bears, and you'll wind up on their menu.l guess you never saw the sign in parks "DO NOT FEED THE BEARS".

A fed bear is a dead bear. Once it learns it can get food from man, it becomes dependant on man for hand outs and becomes a problem bear. Often times they must be destroyed. So, in fact, you are contributing to the death of bears by feeding them and suggesting others feed them. Marty agrees with me.
