  • 🟠 Title: Wild America 'Wild Texas'
🟠 Summary: Texas is big! It's also wild and incredibly varied. In this state, there are at least six dramatically different life zones -- desert mountains, flat grasslands, hill and brush country, piney woods and swamplands. For viewers accustomed to seeing the Lone Star State as a land of livestock and oil wells, this look at little-known wild areas promises many surprises.

In 1985 I saw numerous mule deer and elk in the Guadalupes, in 2021 six bears in Big Bend NP.

For the sake of wildlife its a good thing more people in Texas are turning to raising exotic game. Cattle ranchers just bull doze off the brush and trees to create more pasture.

A lot of people don't realize that before the killing off of most of the buffalo, and the Indians burning off the winter grasses. A person could see for miles, since then the mesquite took over the prairie.
I welcome the open prairie, but not the exotic critters that can and will escape their enclosures.

@carywest9256 yeah, doesn't Texas have an abundance of exotic game species such as axis deer, black buck, auodad sheep, nilgai and wild boar
