What a trip. Ive been following your journey from the comfort of my bed at night and I myself just did a section hike of the PCT from TImberline to Cascade locks (Sept 8th until Sept 12th) It would appear that I was hiking along with you and/or just missed you.
Yeah! I hiked out of Cascade Locks on Sept 8th. Was doing some bigger miles out of there, but maybe I did pass you. It was labor day weekend, tons of people around. :)
Welcome back Ken. I was wondering what happened to you again LOL. How many PCT thru-hikers take a mid trail vacation to Europe? You know I think if it were me, I would have just decided to pull off trail all together because of the fires and complete it next year. Might not be good for your plans next summer though. The smoke must be taking it's toll on your lungs. I know I wouldn't be able to handle that at my age now. Hope you make it through WA ok... Thanks for the update.
Yeah, it's been crazy. Originally I was thinking to do a flip flop and hike the last half SoBo, but changed that due to the fires in WA. Take what you can get I suppose, and make the best trip possible of it - that's my plan, haha.
Hey, nice video! I've got a couple questions for you. I'm going on my first hike in June. Do you feel a benefit from using the trekking poles? What do you use for a battery backup or charger? Did you have any cell service on trail?
Hi Ken, congratulations for finishing your hike through Oregon and Washington!! Are you hiking SoBo to complete the northern section of California? Let us know. Thanks.
Hi Ken, we missed you :)
So glad to see you back on trail again.
Your videos are gorgeous. Thank you so much for sharing your hike with us.

Awesome video! I’m from Ashland... I want to hike from Hyatt to Crater Lake. Any Advice?

That raging river near Jefferson? That wasn't from the rain! It was still like that in September after many dry days. (That was Russell Creek, btw)
