"Loud" shoes is right. I can hear them all the way over here in Minnesota. Next stop, the Sierras. Let the beauty begin. Hundreds of miles of meditation spots.
Ken, just found your videos. They're great. You've been catching some great stuff - the gopher snake, the big wind near Mojave, the sunsets on those mountains. I've been following three other TH-cam hikers - Capt. Dan, FM and Red Beard. So now I'm adding Traveller. (I'd nickname you Widebrim because if the cool wide-brimmed hat you often wear.)
Congrats to 700 miles and your new shoes. Awesome video again. I saw another thru hiker on TH-cam taking small trash bags to use as a sock or shoe cover when he was up in the Sierra so his feet wont get wet when he goes thru the ice slush.
That was Capt. Dan. The trash bags were protection from getting his shoes and socks wet if he post holed into the snow. Just saw the video of Red Beard going over Forester Pass recently and it looked like much of the snow from the late May storm had melted.
nice catch on the quail!! //that's a gopher snake, i came across one recently myself in the mojave desert.// i like that you caught the sound of the windmills, interesting.. fantastic video, we are loving every minute of it! that re supply map is cool, had not seen it before
Ah, yeah. That map is from Yogi's guidebook. Not a complete picture, but still helpful. And the gopher snake, yeah! Another hiker had a picture of a much larger one, beautiful snakes. Thanks for your comments man!
Hey Ken great videos. I was wondering how do you upload to youtube or the cloud or where ever on the internet from your camera? Do you use a computer in "town" with a SD card reader? Or do you have software that lets you upload directly from your camera?
I'm using a phone app called 'kinemaster' to compile and edit the videos. It's got a youtube upload button after exporting the video. Kind of buggy honestly, but I've been doing everything from my phone that way. I did just have to get a new sd card too, filled up 32gigs with pics and video, heh.
Great videos! Spent most of my morning watching them all.. Good luck with your travels!
You made it. I was supposed to go up to Kennedy Meadows yesterday morning but my plans changed. Congrats on 702 miles. The worst is out of the way.

The Joshua Tree seed pods are edible, according to one Internet site I found, but they don't taste very good. Who knew?
Did you have to fight any packs of wild dogs Crossing the desert There??
Where did you get that sierra resupply map?
It's from Yogi's PCT guidebook. Pretty useful book, though I know people who are hiking with other resources as well!
