This was the last scheduled race on our 2023 calendar. Be sure to congratulate Ashley on her 7th place finish in the championship at South Sound Speedway.
How long do tires last on mini stocks? And what do you estimate the cost of tires/fuel/pit passes each race weekend? I’m just trying to do research, I’m looking to get into racing.
So it depends on the track. One of the tracks we run you must run the Hoosier 700, which retails for roughly $140 per tire, so $560 plus tax for a set, and they will last 5 races or so without any noticeable drop off. The other track we run uses the American Racer AR770 and they retail for roughly $160 each, so $600 per set, and again they will last 5 races or so without any noticeable drop off. Tires are always the most expensive thing on a race car.
@@tuftyterror983 South Sound runs the American Racer, they are the only track around this area that runs the AR, everyone else uses the Hoosier. You can buy them from Nick at Race Car Supply. We typically run av-gas or an ethanol free super.

@@TerribleTim68Thanks. Do ministocks use regular gas at a station or race fuel? Also which tires does south sound require (I'm from around here)

@@TerribleTim68 Thanks for all your help! Have a good 2024 season
Are you doing Fall Classic?
No, we will not be at Fall Classic. My vintage is not legal for VMRA and they won't budge on the rules to allow South Sound cars.
