    I learned more from the course than I thought possible and my art is nothing like their style. Many graduates don‘t choose that style and the course certainly does not teach it. You are taught how to be an artist, skills, marketing and so on. What makes the course different is the focus on learning what are your strengths and finding your voice. I too almost didn’t take it because I do not care for the style. It is what people are paying big bucks for though and that‘s why you see their graduates emulating it.

    Best program out there. You’re given so much and supported to explore your style/voice. Sometimes early graduates or going thru it may look a little similar to your instructors but that is normal as your learning. As we continue to paint and explore that changes. Just as professional artists that have been painting a while will grow and change. You are also right about the Milan’s and extended crew. Honest, real,kind,encouraging,humble and will share with you anything they know, they hold no secrets back. The best!

      We definitely continue to grow and evolve as artists. And it makes perfect sense that emerging artists would paint in a style similar to their mentor or teacher, especially until they establish their own voice. One thing I know for sure is that I have yet to see two artists ever paint exactly the same way. That's likely because we all have our own perspectives and stories that we bring to our art. It is as unique as our fingerprint and what makes art so special. Thank you for your comment. I appreciate you and your time. 😊🌺

    Thank you! I think although there might be no rules in art, it will always be enriching to learn about techniques, materials, etc. Thanks for sharing about this course! 😊

      I completely agree with what you're saying. I studied music for a period of time in college, and it was all about rules, rules, rules. Then, suddenly, deeper into the program, I started hearing about breaking the rules. Some of the best musicians I met studying music broke the rules left and right. Learn the rules, break the rules, lol. Thank you for watching my video and for commenting. I really appreciate it.

      You bet. I was looking for videos like this before I entered the program. I see you're a horse lover. You will especially enjoy this course because the Milan family are also horse lovers, and you will see techniques for painting horses during the course of the program. I wish you the best of luck, keep me posted if you proceed. I'd love to see your work.

    I love the program. I know people have commented on the similar styles. It is up to the individual to decide what style they want to emulate. Where are you in the program?

    • @lisaalexgrayartist
      @lisaalexgrayartist  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I finished the program in June. It was life-changing. You make a great point about the artist's painting style choices during the program. There is no push for students to paint one style over another. I saw all styles when I was in the program. I agree with what @lindakahega9553 stated the style the Milan's paint in is desired by collectors, which probably draws the interest of students, that and they probably like the style themselves. Where are you at in the program? Is any of your work visible on social media? I would love to look at it. :)

      @@theartzscientist8012 There are definitely a lot of similar-style art pieces that are created in the program as students find their voice. Then the styles branch out as they discover who they uniquely are. 😊

      IMO...In the beginning. (especially new painters) as you learn the instructors technique you might imitate that to learn how it works. At some point I would think seasoned painters will incorporate the different technique into thier style.
