Great video! Another good tip is to take pictures of the bike from all angles before renting so they can’t say pre existing damage was caused by you…
Good point!
For us foreigners, make sure your IDP and your home license has a motorcycle endorsement.
Agree 💯
❤👏🏽thanks for the info Teya🥰
You are so welcome
Sound advice Teya .Hope you are feeling better ❤
Thank you Mick 💜🙏
Love your videos krab!

Glad you think so!
You are always great your information always good for all best of luck for your motorbike

Thank you, Chiman
Never leave your passport to anyone! What if you dont get it back...?
Helloooooooo Teyaaaaaaaaaa! Looking great!
Helloooooooooo
@@ItsThaithings Keep smiling!
I think it's an old video
Thanks!
Thank youuuuuuuuuuuuuuu
Love Thai roads they amazing ,duck to water😊
Yes, thanks
Chub chub ❤ I like bikes a bit of a Steve MC queen 🎉
in Chaing Mai At the moat there is always check point and them guys are printing money in fines.... for no helmet... 3 on bike, no International driving permit, or no bike license
Oh wow, great information. Thank youuuuuuu 🙏🙏🙏
Thank you for the practical Thailand video. The Jeans-jacket makes sense from a safety point of view. But isn't that too hot for Chiang Mai?
Thai people wearing it for sun protection. It's hot but we don't like to get tan 😊
The first time i come to thailand i understood that I would definitely come back and i decide to buy one: i left it to the hotel where a friend of mine is the manager and he rent it for me when i am not there...😊
When i get to phuket i take the money of rent and use my motorbike 😅.
But for the other place your suggestion are perfect 😊👍
Glad my video is useful. Have fun !!!
👍👍👍
💜🙏🇹🇭
Always take pictures or video of the condition of the motorbike. Know the traffic laws when you drive or ride. Can I recommend Mr. POP OF Chiang Mai. Good clean bikes and the best people you can deal with. Near S.E. corner of old town.
Thanks for the tips!
Thank you Ms.Teya, another good video and good information!
Literally for every Dutchie m/f/x, renting a bicycle in Thailand is an absolute horror. We're just too tall, for the tiny bicycles you Thai rent out. Just watch us cycling in LoS and have a good laugh.😂
You guys are very tall, Dutch friends. I agree
Nice informative video but is it necessary to give passport? I hope your doing well. Thanks for taking time for us.
I think it's necessary but it could be flexible and negotiable.
I've rented motorbikes in, I don't even know, 10 or 12 different cities in Thailand? I have a Thai motorbike license (and a car license. Two separate licenses believe it or not) and a California drivers license with a motorcycle endorsement. No international driving permit.
Usually all that's required is a cash (or bank transfer) deposit, and a *copy* of the Thai license. Sometimes they like a *copy* of my passport too, but usually the (again,, *copy* of) license is enough. I've never been asked to hand over either my license or my passport.
For tourists you should be sure to have the international permit (easiest to get while still in America ... your home country may differ) *and* a motorcycle endorsement on your home country license. That's really an insurance issue though i.e. if you don't have a motorcycle endorsement in your home country and you get in an accident, the insurance company can (read: will) refuse to pay.
Blah blah blah. To answer your question directly: No, don't hand over your passport. If the rental shop insists, find a different shop. There are tons of them out there.
I would also take a video with the owner of the shop and have him agree that the motorbike is in good condition before you leave. Good video Teya. Hope you are feeling well.
Good point ☝️ thank you Dave
Nice pic of you on an actual bike though before we click on the video
I love this bike very much 🙏
What about renting a car?
Same same 😊😊
This is scooter hire not motorcycle guys
I see at least 2 motorbike accidents every time I visit Thailand. So it's very important to drive carefully, even if you are a professional. I once crashed in koh samet because i hit some sand at night :-( Lucky I didn't break anything. Lucky I was not going fast. And lucky the owner did not see the damage on the bike when i returned it hahaha.
I had an accident on the 1st day I arrived Koh Tao. It's ruined my trip real bad 😔
How to get a motorbike licence in Thailand?
You can apply at Transport department of each province.
Cannot do that on a tourist visa.
❤❤❤❤ namo buddhay❤❤❤❤
thank you
Wrong ! never live your passport
Thank you 🙏
Tip #1. Don’t lol
hahaha
Renting a bike in Thailand is amazing! ❤️🇹🇭
Police don’t accept international drivers license! Just give the cops 400B.
Thanks!
Thank you so much for your support :)
