      I do have a plan on aging paper and can sew a few small projects with that. Hopefully will get that out early this week for you. Thanks for the suggestion 🤗

    What a fun technique! Thank you so much for sharing this with us! I've always wondered how to do this! And although I like grunge too, the napkin technique sounds intriguing too, I think I'll have to try it at least once! Thanks again! ❤️

    I would love to see how you use all of these. Such a cool technique.
    May I ask if this gets your sewing machine waxy or does wax get into the small parts or anything that could ruin the machine?

      I’ve been using my sewing machine for doing paper projects (including these waxed pieces) for about 3 years now and have not had any issues with my machine. That being said, my machine is very old and was not an expensive machine to begin with, so I have never been concerned with the possibility of doing some damage or getting it grubby. If (or when) it is time to replace it, I will buy a very cheap machine for doing these kind of projects.

    Thanks for the tutorial. I figured I would share my project. I travel for work so I wanted to have a fork in the car in my glove box at all times but didn't want it just to be loose in the glove box so I saved a disposable fork from trader Joe's and waxed the paper packaging and put my own steel fork inside. Thanks again! (ps. do you use a dedicated craft iron or just your regular household jron?)

    I'm curious why you wouldn't melt your wax in a pan, then apply it with a brush?

    • @janicefreeman8353
      @janicefreeman8353  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I don’t see any reason why that wouldn’t work. Not sure if ironing helps ‘bake’ the wax into the fibers of the paper. A brush may only apply the wax to the surface but can’t say for certain as I have never tried it. 😊

    Janice - tried to coffee dye parchment paper. It looks stupid. What's the secret?

    • @janicefreeman8353
      @janicefreeman8353  ปีที่แล้ว

      I’ve never tried coffee staining parchment paper but I have done so with tracing paper. That’s the paper that I sent to Kathy and that she uses. In a quart jar, I use 10 heaping spoons of instant coffee and 5 tea bags. I like the darker look. As it is drying, I sometimes go back and add some splashes to it with the same mixture. I also sometimes add coffee crystals to the paper as it’s drying but just a few. I lay the sheets out on the grass to dry but I have also made some in the winter and just laid them out on some plastic sheeting to dry. Also, depending on the paper and after it has dried, you can iron out most of the wrinkles. I don’t generally do this to my tracing paper but have done it to regular copy paper.

    Is this methode deterirate the iron, i have only one iron !
    Thank you again

    • @janicefreeman8353
      @janicefreeman8353  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, I would not use the iron on clothes after doing this. Perhaps you could find a cheap second hand one that still works.
