- One of the great things about hiring older brothers is knowing that inevitably they’ll use their powers of persuasion (and often colorful language) during the process of discovering certain musical answers.

I really appreciate the honesty and humility to upload this.
The music was beautiful but I also had to laugh out loud. I felt somewhat bad for Delfeayo but that's exactly how brothers behave.
I love how difficult branford is lol
Branford's take is right on. Next to Wayne Shorter, he's my soprano sound and man.
I was 2 doors down from Delfayo at Berklee in Mass Ave dorm in 1987
Real life musicians working out how to play a tune. "GOLDEN" 🎷🎶
What I like about Branford is his ability to think outside of the box. I've seen him have similar conversations with others before. Structure has its place, but sometimes you just have to let creativity flow.
HAHAHA...I have four brothers and this is classic. But, Branford is always quite analytical, I find. It shows whenever he is in an interview. I'm such a fan of this family. They are such amazing talents.
Your brother completely transformed Stings work and took it to a whole different level
Love to see beautiful family with heart for jazz music. God bless you🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
The dark sounds brighter than the bright LoL

I don’t care what nobody says…Branford is *THE GREATEST SOPRANO SAXOPHONIST OF ALL TIME!*
Love this! Please post more of this! All my best, Delfeayo -- great to see you last year here in Seattle.
Beautiful, haunting, and strangely optimistic. Thank you. A fitting tribute Master Kenny Kirkland.
Absolute Brilliance... Thank you for sharing this.
Thanks for posting these beautiful sounds
Beautiful piece.... unison was a great idea!
Beautiful tune and playing.....
I absolutely love Branford…..
Grandes músicos , e que sim belíssimo de trombone!!
Great work and musicianship! Love how the thought process was worked out!
That unison was really really compelling. Maybe different harmonies or another twist could've supported for the original idea... but still that unison feels real good.
This is hilarious and beautiful.
I think Delfeayo has been the producer of a lot of the great works of his older brothers. He’s not in awe of Branford.😂
I love their whole family
Excelente!
I’ve met him and sat down with him personally, he def has a rare energy to him. But also he inspired me but I was young, I wish I could talk to him again now that I’m older.
Why has this never been released? And - when will it be released? I‘d love to pay for it.
:-(
@@DelfeayoMarsalis Oh no. Why no release. I know how that goes man.
Let's go Branford!
...and he was right....
Very Good 👍 🎶 🎵
Nice uplodad! What year is this tho? Thanks! (You guys rock!)
Definitely seeing birth order playing out here, lol.
Branford está en ojaio!!!🤪
Uh huh. But if Winton was there he'd be smacking everybody around. Lol
Delfeayo’s dilemma!
Lmao Branford is hilarious
Delfeayo is hands down HILARIOUS. Hes the kind of guy who you could go on a brutal tour with, yet it would seem like a humor-filled walk through the park. They dont make musicians like him anymore, bruh.
Nice!
"This is too classic" 🙂
Good mood in Marsalis family. There is a visible good reason we don't see them together very often.
The first rule about respect, is to play what somebody brings, the best as possible, avoiding to show we have better ideas. The way Mr B.Marsalis sings "la la... , la la...", very persuasive.
Powers of persuasion..
Older brother, younger brother ...
I think you missed the point, PT. In the end, Branford was correct and that's all that mattered. It's about finding out the best route more than being right! And I hire him to do just what he did!
Did Dana videotape this?
Which song is this? Regards
Does anyone know which Composition this is?
I think it's a Kenny Kirkland composition.
How old is this? Late 90s?
This isn't exactly on this session, sorry, but does anybody know what mouthpiece that Branford is using on his soprano?
In interviews he sounds completely abrupt, but it sounded great in the end. Brandford sounds like someone who is impatient with lesser talented people.
Now Wynton tries to carry everyone to were he is going, I guess they cannot be the same personality.
Why do they seem like they all wanna fight 😂😭
What year was this?
2002
@@DelfeayoMarsalis by the way, you played on a chart I write for the Greeley jazz festival last year. I never got to tell you, but it was an honor to work with you!
Think he's talking about "little one".
Yes, hes talking about 'Little one' and I cant hear it any other way since Wayne Shorter did it.
these cats man...
For what?…For what?…
That’s the question I’ve been asking about everything, these days. For what?…
that was pretty....no homo or nothing but eye could listen to Branford talk about music all day...one of my life goals is to play music with him
Yeah, it's different when your brother is a Marsalis, because you know he ain't going to lie to you..'bout nuthin'! Lol Your girlfriend/wife, your clothes, your house, you...or the music :-) Don't mean he's right, it just means he cares...really cares.
I wish I could talk with my siblings with advanced music like this. Unfortunately Im the one in the family with a Masters. We all took piano with the same teacher, and I took it to the advanced level. With 3 degrees(2 in music) I still Love em though! :)
Steep
Uhhhh.....Branford is correct.
So funny.
❤️🤣😂, Branford and that ultimate Virgo ♍️ energy!🙌🏽
lmao
If my brother talks to me like that gets punched in the face right away.
So do I, pershaps Brandford Marsalis, but not quite cool guy.
One answer, among many. YOU HIRED HIM; YOUR VISION. He is gifted, but he could have adapted better to CONTEXT.
Why is Branford always so moody? Lol
cos Wynton got all the Grammys?
Branford is a pain …
No.
Who's on piano? DOIN' SUMTHING!!!!
