Thank you Dave! Of all the reviews so far, yours helped me the most. Neither Mojaxx nor any of the others showed the different setting options or mentioned them properly. Not even NI itself in the official product video... Ai caramba. 🙄 Hope to see more from you soon and keep up the good work! ✌
Hi Dave your videos are very useful.. Can plz help me on this In Traktor S2mk3 how to reset loop back to 4 beats automatically when loop knob is released. Like Pioneer controllers have. How to change the sample row's (pages) with Traktor S2mk3?
Thanks for the comment and glad you find my videos useful. Unfortunately there isn’t a reset for the loop to snap back to 4 beats. The only way there could be is a mapping but even then I’m skeptical.
Thank you Dave! Great video as always! Have been using Z1 extensively for 9 years already, in a portable setup with X1 MK2. Wonder if it's worth upgrading to Z1 mk2 + X1 mk3...
I’m used to the soft takeover but yes it can be a pain. That’s why having other larger controllers stop the need. It if you’re in a pinch it can be very handy. :-)
Unfortunately not. You would need to map those separately. It would have been nice, but these are functions on the new X1 MK3, so I assume they want you to pair them together. Thanks for watching.
Yes and no lol. They will work but things like the crossfader and any joint usage of buttons, the one being used will ‘takeover’ the other one. But you can actually attach a lot of different traktor controllers together on the same computer.
Hi Dave, great video as always, looking forward to the deep dive. Just tried to buy one applying the code and it said "The maximum number of redemptions for this voucher has been reached"? Keep up the good work👍
Cheers dude. I’m actually sitting on the floor as I’ve been evicted and I have no furniture. So I was on the floor and the laptop was on a cardboard box lol.
They could have replaced the channel faders with rotary faders and used the extra real estate for something else. Can it be mapped to a 4 band EQ like a Xone?
Thank you Dave for another insightful video! 🤗 Indeed you're the only one till now who showed Preferences Settings and ALL the buttons and knobs functions. Question: In Default Mapping, would the following be possible to enhance? (So not Midi-Mode but functioning as designed but extra feature ny using a modulator): FFFX1(Hold) Button = Modulator 5 = 1; FFX1(Hold) + EQ-Knob(Touch) = Mute that Stem (Or Stem Volume 0%) FFX2(Hold) Button = Modulator 7 = 1 if FFX1 Modulator 5 = 1; FFX1(Hold) + FFX2(Hold) + EQ-Knob(Touch) = Unmute that Stem (Or Stem Volume 100%) \-> So that you have a quick way to (un)mute a Stem or set Volume 0/100. It would sacrifice FFX1 but FFX2 and all other buttons should still work as Default Mapping.
Thanks. Yeah pretty much. You could change filter to shift and then use that as a modifier via toggle and hold to change the states and basically add what you wanted. I was thinking about adding some kill switches and the top fx as well. Please let me know how you get on as I’m always interested how people use and change these. Thank again.
@DAVEDigitalandVinylExpert I'm actually thinking of buying one 🙂 Using FFX1 as main modulator makes more sense to me than the big rectangular one below. Just FFX1(Hold) + EQ-Knob(Touch) to Mute Stem (Or Stem Volume 0%); FFX1(Hold) + FFX2(Hold) + EQ-Knob(Touch) to Unmute Stem (Or Stem Volume 100%); FFX1(Hold) + FFX3(Hold) + EQ-Knob(Touch) to reset EQ to 0. FFX1(Hold) + FFX3(Hold) + Filter-Knob(Touch) to reset Filter to 0; Maybe FFX1(Hold) + Filter-Knob(Touch) to Filter Off. Just found out yesterday about the possibility to Duplicate Track and made an experimental Makro to instantly Copy Track A to Deck C, Set Deck C Volume to 0, and start Duplicated Track fully Synchronized. Completely new so still figuring out but first possibility that came to mind was Wordplay through Hotcues with Vocal Stem. Should actually alter Makro to load with all stems at Volume 0 instead of Volume Deck C 0 and maybe reset Filter per Stem, FX Send per Stem and FX 1 2 3 4 Off all for Deck C.
I’d love to see that. If you fancy a chat and sharing this once you’re done I’m on instagram @digitalandvinylexpert and would be great to see the outcome.
I heard that it's because the USB-B connection that goes into the controller is more secure and then the standard USB-A, appears, to my mind, to be more secure than USB-C that I use.

Thanks ☺️ In my opinion, the z1 is definitely worth upgrading for the sound card upgrade alone plus the flexibility of the stems and button changes.
Good to see tips how can you use it as 4 channel mixer and adapting to this soft take over. Soft take over looks like a pain to me.

Thx. What about load tracks and browser mode?

Great one again, Dave! With those RCA outs, I only have had XLR outs on my mixers and will I have the same output quality if I got this jawn?
Thanks ☺️
NORMALLY XLR’s are the best outputs over all else, but I have to be honest and say I haven’t compared. Apologies.
Hey I would like to ask if this thing works with Maschine mk3
Hi. Only in the sense that you can run machine and traktor together with a midi clock.
Thank you
Is it possible to use 2 z1s for 4 decks in Traktor?
Yes and no lol. They will work but things like the crossfader and any joint usage of buttons, the one being used will ‘takeover’ the other one. But you can actually attach a lot of different traktor controllers together on the same computer.

Hi Paul. Thanks.
Let me send this comment to GAK and I’ll get back to you.
Hi again. They just came back to me and all fixed. I just tried it myself :-)
Happy shopping and DJing.
@@DAVEDigitalandVinylExpert thanks Dave, much appreciated, all the best.

it is compatible with iPad?

Mmmh So A tiny 4 channel mixer ,🤔
Why do the stilll use outdated USB? Most computers now use USB-C. Its mindboggeling why the chose such old USB.
I actually bought a usb B to C from tech tools and it’s awesome for my new usb c only MacBook.
