Thank you so much for this and the paint splatter videos. I use power point instead of photoshop and I LOVE these tutorials that show how to modify static images in powerpoint. I really appreciate these two videos, please do more like this. I would love to see some on using more of the tools in the drawing part of power point!!!
This is awesome! I've wanted to know how to make torn edges on papers and this does the trick! I didn't realize Power Point could do so many things. I am starting the process of making digital printables and papers and don't have Photoshop, so am learning how to do different things in different free programs. This vidoe, plus the one on paint splashes, is INVALUABLE to me as couldn't find the technique in Canva or ipiccy. Would love more on how to work in Power Point for paper effects.
Sorry for any confusion. The 'Combine' tool would result in a gap where the two shapes overlap, which we don't want. The 'Union' tool which I used ignores any overlapping, and produces the shape without gaps.
Click on the first shape, then hold down the Shift key and click on the others. Then let go of Shift and carefully right-click on the edge of one of the selected shapes and go to Group.

At 7:30 you used the phrase “We need to combine the shapes” . There is a combine option but you chose union . Is there a difference?
