- 'Enter the Matrix' was released in 2003 alongside 'The Matrix Reloaded' film. The story of the game tied in directly with the film and featured live action cutscenes shot exclusively for the game.
The game gave the player the option to play the game as two different characters: Niobe (played by Jada Pinkette-Smith) or Ghost (played by Anthony Wong). Both choices offered two different player experiences. This video is a recording of me playing the game from beginning to end as Ghost.

I remember playing thinking the graphics were amazing but now oh wow how much games have changed.
Thats the first thing I thought too. I was in awe the first time I played this when I was younger, at how good the game looked!

Now that I look at it I feel the could have done a better job and rushed it just to make money.
About the only truly thrilling thing about it is the flips and wall running which are sick as balls.
That's odd considering it looked bad even for its time. The unfinished graphics in preview screencaps were the first indicator this was yet another rushed movie tie-in. Too bad, this really had potential.

I had to use cheats to beat it because the warehouse mission for me was super glitched. But I had so much fun using infinite bullet time with all the weapons 😅

yeah same, my disk was fucked so i could not play past the part were ghost or the other character gets tear gassed (havent played in years so excuse my mistakes)

Man this game was just so badass! The graphics, the story, the soundtrack it had it all! I think I speak for everyone when I say it definitely deserves a remaster!
Its so good how they tied the movie and the game movie cut scenes together, made it worth the play just to know that other things were going on during the time Neo was doing his thing.
I couldn't get past a freaking helicopter, so I finished the game with Niobe.

You could use the hacking part of the game to do weapon drops. You could get a really powerful weapon to take out the helicopter.

I remember reciting the dialogue to this game so much. Hours of my childhood given to this game, and I don’t regret one second.
I wonder if there are any people who consider Niobe and Ghost much more compelling characters than the ones from the movies. Personally, I think that the scene at 3:29:02 with the Oracle is what makes Ghost so unique: He is told something he didn't want to hear, that a women he loved does not love him the same way, and he accepts it, and instead of being distraught finds a sense of peace in a truth that you'd expect to really hurt him.
Ghost was definitely a great character.

the early-mid 2000s were such a good era for console gaming. this got panned to hell and back (and rightfully so in most cases - it was rushed to come out with Reloaded and had a metric ton of glitches) but there's so much nostalgia soaked into the first few post office stages alone that it's hard to imagine NOT growing up with stuff like this. long live the 6th generation: the origin of modern gaming as we know it
Admittedly, the graphics are a little clunky, but the movement options are kinda amazing. I can't think of anything else in the time period that let you bounce off walls like this.
I played this when I was 12 years old, I didn't even understand english back them, I just followed the arrow and had no idea what was going on but I fell in love with the whole slow-mo type fighting and shooting so much that I didn't even care

I played this game in December 2004 on the Athlon 2.5ghz geforce3 64mb. At the beginning it was easy becoming more and more difficult. My childhood❤️

I actually loved the fact that it had many cinematic scenes and me being a huge fan of the movie it was like knowing more of the story.
Unfortunately i had a cracked version on pc and it freezed at one of the final missions, never got to finish the game.

In light of The Matrix 4 having been announced, I think this game should be remastered. Overhaul the graphics, tighten up the animation and make it the game that the developers truly wanted.

This was such an ambitious game...tying the Animatrix to the 2nd movie, and the 2nd movie to the 3rd (I completely forgot the Trainman made his first appearance in this game). You got two different experiences depending on the character, highly detailed/destructable environments, licensed weapons/soundtrack...it's just a shame they had to rush it out to coincide with the release of the 2nd movie. If it had another month or even just a couple extra weeks of fine-tuning, it could've been not only one of the best movie videogames, but one of the best videogames period.

This was a terrific story, Niobe and Ghost are great characters, characters we saw too little from in the movies. Sparks too, I think 'awesome' is a requirement for becoming operator aboard a Zion ship. Only knew since Enter the Matrix that Ghost and Trinity were related at some level.
This needs to be a backward compatibility for the Xbox one

The toughest boss battle in Ghost's path was against the agent helicopter
I hated that part
It's because the agent helicopter is unpredictable of where it'll attack from and not knowing where to shoot

I think it was the reputation of a video game tie-in like the Matrix and the media going a bit bonkers cause of its limitations as a mainstream medium at the time. Nowadays, more people play video games, so the perspective is more different these days.

Everyone talking how this game was legendary while i so clearly remember this game by failing the jump on 10:10 thousands of tries and some bigger family member cleared that part for me but i didnt play after that, so thats all i remember of this game, fun limited combat and 10 minutes of playtime before i could not go forward cuz i was a dumb little kid that didnt even speak english yet, the only time i had the chance to go on i didnt play it that day and back to the beginning
