Thank you so much I really needed this, recently my contract ended as a business analyst for BGE, and I had no desire to go back instead I want to further my analytical skills in day trading/long term trading. My family thinks it’s absurd, and that I’m stupid/ lost cause for pursing this path. At the end of the day ik what’s best for me, and I will pass the finish line 😊. Yes, it's called grit. But that's not enough in finance, the competition has very deep pockets and can therefore hire the smartest people on the planet like that gentleman. To compete you need to be a top expert in your sub-field, otherwise you'll be wiped out like 90% of the retail "get-rich-quick" traders out there.

You've already talked yourself out of doing anything big in finance so you don't even have to worry about outside competition. Also being a retail trader has nothing to do with private equity investing, which is what he does.
