Shotguns rule. You can shoot anything from a bird to a bear with one. Plus they are (relatively) cheap

Purchased USED and Mossberg still repaired it under warranty. Impressive. Good for Mossberg.

I've had my 590 for over 20 years. I see no reason to ever change brands. Always liked Mossberg.

I should have bought one of those shotguns 20 years ago when you could get them for $200.00

Bought this exact model few years back. Also had the same extraction problems Eric mentioned. My theory is the marine-coat finish added enough friction to the chamber, making the shell extraction a problem after expansion. Applied Flitz metal polish inside the chamber, with a dremel bufferer. Or perhaps the extractor also needed breaking in, I dunno, but it runs smooth now after 100 rds. No trip to factory needed. Tricked it out with a streamlight forend, magpul stock, and a GGG sidesaddle shell carrier. She groovy.

Remember when Walmart would sell mossbergs? Got a 535 for $250 or something

It was the movie striking distance starring Bruce Willis when I first fell in love with the Mossberg Mariner! A majority of the movie was filmed close to where I live in the Pittsburgh area. Another funny fact of that movie, my dad was actually the brakemen on the CSX train seen in the movie lol.

I gave $200 for mine with ghost ring sights probably 25 years ago. Been my duty shotgun ever since.

I grew up in Alaska and this is the exact same gun I first bought on my own. I've owned it for 20+ years and I still have it and love it so much!

Gotta love a silver finished shotgun. All the best from Australia!

Was a hard-core Remington and Ruger owner for a long time until I was introduced to Mossberg and Savage and I haven't looked back since

This shotgun has a special place in my heart, first gun I ever fired and with my father too. I ate some dust and had a blue shoulder for days, my first love affair with guns. God bless ya'll

In the absence of the elusive and quite spendy original NP3 coated Benelli M4 H20, this makes a very nice option.

Great gun! I bough mine in South Florida when the OJ trial was going on and a lot of noises were being made. I lived on a boat and the gun has been through salt water and hurricane force winds. Came with a metal trigger guard. I installed a ghost ring sight and a metal safety. I like it better than my 870, particular the speed of the thumb safety, and the reload capability. The finish has the ability to absorb a large quantity of oil. Thanks!!!

I love street howitzers! You gotta love the dependable always FUN 12 gauge shotgun! Unbelievable knockdown power and even better ease of use! Nothing like a shoulder cannon to make your day FUN!

I owe my life to a Mossberg 500. Everything from the Security 88 to the 590 has served me well.

I love my 590 mariner. I put magpul furniture on it and also replaced the plastic safety with a metal vang comp safety. I was also able to replace the trigger assembly with a 590a1 metal assembly that I was able to get from Brownells a couple years ago. I keep the original as a spare. I put an upgraded Brownells aluminum mag tube follower and an extra power Wolff spring too and removed that spring retainer cap. It is my go to shotgun.

I had nickel plated mossberg years back. Was a rugged and reliable shotgun. Overall they're a great choice if you're just moving into 12 ga.

I’d love to get a 590 mariner I’ve wanted one for a while and it’ll definitely be the next shotgun I buy I don’t go boating but it’d make a great bathroom gun with all the steam from the shower
