I always had this vision of a Corridor / Braille Skateboarding collab. For example, they have this segment "You make it, we skate it", were they skate weird board made by their fan, and with the help of VFX this could go either to a hi-tech or supernatural side, when they receive a very misterious box. Could be one of those "is this real?" kind of video, like the Bosstown Dynamics ones.

Braille Skateboarding also has this really cool thing they do where pro Right to Repair comments are being removed from their videos. Specifically I'm talking about on their recent 'solo carver' video, I recorded my comments being shadowbanned. Ideally more people would care about this, but seeing how many apple products and onewheels the corridor crew uses, I doubt that it bothers them.

I spent all my points on Son of a Dungeon and Wizard Cops. As soon as they refresh, the points are going straight to Wizard cops. it sounds like what the Will Smith movie "Bright" should have been, but funnier, and that sounds AWESOME!

On the topic of input from the consumers I heard a great quote from someone working in interaction design (user experience, user interface, etc) which went something like "when the user tells you something is wrong or doesn't work for them, they are almost always right but when the user gives ideas on how to fix those issues they are almost always wrong" and I feel like this would be pretty applicable to art as well.

There were also so many great segues from one topic to another, Fenner casually dropping the website promotion (great new addition to the Crew btw) and even reminding the bard Wyatt Earp himself (I forget Jake’s character’s name) to play us out! 😂 Very funny and a great cast.

Thanks Matt for mentioning that *Apollo 10* flick. I remember A Scanner Darkly being one of my fav films when it came out just for how cool it looked. Plus it has Robert Downey, Keanu Reeves, and Woody Harrelson in it which was so cool. So i just watched Apollo 10 and a half and it was actually really good. I won't spoil owt, but it has Jack Black in it as the narrator. I like the concept of everyone always remembering where they were when they landed on the moon, and this kids like ''i was asleep on the sofa''. But he still managed to make a story out of the experience despite not actually seeing it. Different spin on other movies like this that are about what people were doing when it happened.

Pretty sure word acre has the same origin as the German word "Acker", which means: crop, land, plot, soil.
Or at least they sound eerily similar.
"Acker"usually refers to a freshly plowed field.

So, it is definitely the case that the future - our present version of it - is kinda boring, however I think that is more due to the disconnect between available technology and it's mainstream use, rather than any limits of potential on said technology. There are definitely non-boring, stereo-typically futuristic uses for even publicly and and commercially sold technologies, but they are absolutely outnumbered by the more pedestrian ones.
A good example is the 3D Printer. Many 'regular' people now own one of these devices, but outside of the commercial or industrial sector, we are not really seeing the predicted life-changing use of the technology. You're more likely to see someone print a collectable or some non-practical item than a cog or widget to extend the life of a machine or device. Not that those use cases do not occur, they are just not as widespread or glamorous.
One non-glamorous of another futuristic technology is AI or machine learning. The company I work for actually uses such an intelligent system in day-to-day operations, but it is for a decidedly boring purpose. A system analyzes all services calls, field service reports by technicians, across a huge database that covers a giant dataset spanning both time and space, and estimates how many man hours will be needed for a job with similar parameters, to achieve a high and extremely cost-saving level of efficiency. This kind of scheduling support is something our current level of sophistication in this systems is very good at - but it is definitely on the mundane and boring side of things.
There are however uses of technology that are a bit more interesting and futuristic, and very much possible with our current capabilities, which we are not taking advantage of. AR is a good example. Platforms like Google Glass failed in part because, like Spot, there wasn't a clear reason for why an average person would want such a device, or what they would use it for. These days every single person has a data-delivery device in their pocket - their smart phone - and a large number of people use a GPS for navigation while driving. People have grown accustomed to the type of search tools, information presentation and customizable filtering online shopping have made both common and indispensable, but we have not seen a corresponding manifestation of these tools in what we used to call meatspace, in the brick and mortar world.
Those who have seen the Tom Cruise film Minority Report will probably remember the customized advertising he was presented with as he walked past displays that used facial or retinal scans to recognize him. A similar effect could be achieved that was more opt-in, with one's ID passively determined through a cellphone app, information presented not through giant displays but a HUD-like AR interface delivered via Glass-type hardware, and customized to only show things of interest based on settings or filters. Brick and mortar retail has taken a huge hit due to online shopping and then the pandemic but imagine walking through a mall or down a street, and instead of having to go into each store, or hunt for particular items, price points or sales, you got the information on your display, video-game quest style. This tech exists.
The list of possible uses of available technology is long, and in some countries, for some individuals, we are seeing more futuristic uses, but the limitation is largely not the tech, not what is financially feasible or practical for the general population, it's a question of imagination and innovation. This is something a group like Corridor could help change actually - the Minority Report advertising scene was done with VFX, but they could actually show how the AR-type system I described would work and look. Wren's 300 3-camera gear test is a perfect example of a use for existing technology - if the future we find ourselves in is boring, it's mostly because of our limited imagination, not actual limits.
