I was testing it see if there was much difference between my small windjammers and mounting the mics inside my Rode Blimp Mkii.
I found the small windjammers are great for a light breeze but anything stronger it is well worth setting up the mics in the blimp.

Thank you!
Thank you for this comparison, I'm about to buy clippy mic and already have a Rode Blimp Mk II and about to purchase the mini wind jammers. But I guess I might not need them and just use the Rode Blimp.
Thanks for the comment Freddi, I would say the wind jammers are still worthwhile getting, I just feel it is just good to realise the limitations of them when compared to your Blimp. I hope you enjoy your new mics.
I have min wind jammer , rubbish I am planning to buy rode blimp but such big in size
Great comparison Andy! The stronger the wind, the more volume or space around the microphone capsule is required. In most situations I end up using the Rode Blimp MkII with or without the deadcat. The EM clippy 272 are great omni mics. I really enjoy recording with them. Thanks for sharing, wish you all the best for 2023 my friend✌
Thank you very much, I hope you have a great 2023 as well🌞
Can i ask which mini windjammers you use please ? There are so many
Do you think pointing 2 omnis (EM272 Pluggy) away from one another, inside of a blimp, be enough to capture good ambient sound? I'm gonna try that soon and see what happens. 1:02 Wow! That's a beautiful tree!
I think so yes, it can be better to get them further apart to capture i broader stereo field, but that is not always practical. I would love to hear how you get on with your tests👍
@@AndyGregor Thanks for the reply Andy. I'll post as soon as I learn how to sync my results with Adobe Premiere Pro 2020. Also, I might have to avoid the next few days because of rain.
Hello, have you tried the WINDBUBBLES? They must be much better than rode
