    As the old saying goes..."quality always sells"......this is a top quality band.....one of a very rare creed.......timeless quality,people are still digging it 40 odd years later👍🤟

    I could tell by your “stink face” during the solo section that you were digging it. These guys were a incredible band and I will definitely be requesting more for you to check out.🤘🏻🔥

    This song is usually considered as the second part of stargazer and many of the lyrics reference back to it. Another great track from this album is starstruck, but an all around supergroup of it's day. I have the album on vinyl and it's always fun to play it for the neighbors to listen to (whether they want to or not).

    Rainbow for a '70's band with Dio singing about wizards and kings totally works and also '80's Rainbow w/Joe Lynn Turner also fit perfectly for their sound and style, though both are like different bands, Ritchie was savvy enough to change it up

    Ritchie the GOAT. King of 70s

    This was my favourite of Rainbow’s albums. The first & third albums are also excellent, but this one definitely goes to 11. The later albums, after Dio left, are ok, but just not as spectacular.

    • @m.ericwatson968

      Not as hard hitting or heavy, Ritchie nailed was he was going for in '80's Rainbow, got him radio play and concerts in the U.S.

    Richie Blackmore had said in an interview that there was no Bass in Stargazer. When he was reforming Rainbow in 2016 he said he wanted to add bass to the song Not sure if there was one in this song.

    "Yeah Blackmore said recently he wished he had re-recorded the the bass on album", A Remaster I would buy, having bought album back in 70s"", Jimmy Bain bassist, left with Ronnie to form"DIO", along with Vinnie Appice"

      Well he didn't leave with Ronnie to form Dio.
      He was booted the hear before and Ronnie did another Rainbow album with Bob Daisley and then Dio joined Black Sabbath.
      So.... He didn't leave Rainbow to form Dio. There was a few years in between.

    With the exception of Do You Close Your Eyes, Rainbow Rising was the sort of album that got better with every sequential track, Very few bands have *had* this ability to transition this way.

    • @nthwrsdmnd6611

      I think do you close your eyes is just a fun little break, I don't necessarily dislike it, plus the live performances of the track as an encore were really neat

    Great song. However, I agree the bass was way too quiet.

    • @martinarscott3524

      Applies to several Rainbow tracks including Gates of Babylon and especially Lady of the Lake, quite poor mixing....

  • @RushfanUK
    @RushfanUK ปีที่แล้ว

    The 2011 remasters brought the bass up to a point where you can actually hear it, still a bit low but still it's actually there.

  • @barryrammer7906
    @barryrammer7906 ปีที่แล้ว

    This is the follow up to Stargazer. A light in the black. It tells the story if the wizards fall and the aftermath of side 2. Agree about the bass guitar. Jimmy Bain got robbed on this one. Hes a top rock bassist. Cozy Powell us cooking in this one along with kill the king if you want to hear Cozy as a top 4 drummer in the world. Rip Cozy he drove into a tree at 100mph. He loved fast cars and was an up and coming formular 1 driver in EU untill Ritchie Blackmore got him out of driving. He also played with Jeff Beck and a million other bands after Rainbow.
