Modified Square Wave Inverter || Perfect 50Hz with XTAL control || 200Watts

  • Hello Everyone! Thank you for stopping by. This video is an attempt to make a modified square wave inverter using a TL494 based based module that is controlled by a crystal oscillator, giving us an exact frequency of 50Hz. The waveform of the modified square wave is also adjustable. The power of this inverter is roughly 200Watts. It has an approximate efficiency of about 83% - 84% with is is not half bad considering a DIY design.
    This inverter has 2 sections- A high voltage DC generator and a H bridge controlled by the TL494 module to produce AC from the High voltage DC.

    Hey, great work!! However, what if for example you use this for a low frequency inverter, then how could you introduce the voltage feedback on tl494. thanks

      Thanks for your feedback! The frequency here is controlled by a crystal and so to get lower frequency we can either use a crystal with lower natural frequency or increase the dividing factor of the binary counter. As for the feedback you can use the two internal error amplifier
