In the most upsetting Jon Bois extended universe crossover, the Browns were involved in a 47-42 scorigami on Monday. They were back on prime time. They lost. To the Ravens.
The notion of this video just got even better yesterday: Only the Browns can end a losing streak by NOT winning, and at 0-0-1 it's their best start to a season since 2004.
By the way, folks, there is one stat that is still going strong. It shows up at 5:45 It's the cumulative point differential stat. @raishauntanner4206 we know from the presidents shown in the 17776 trailer that Donald Trump was president in that timeline from 2017-2025. This, obviously, did not happen in our timeline, and as such means that the timeline divergence happened earlier than when everybody stopped dying. So no, we can not guarantee that in 17776 the browns have won a playoff game
Lifetime Browns fan-- and I always will be. My father and I have spent every Sunday of the past 17 years sitting on a couch next to each other rooting for the Browns every Sunday. All I can say is-- If the Saints could get Drew Brees and did it... in the 42nd year of the Franchise... we can and will do it someday.
They'll get it together sooner or (probably) later. Statistics demand it, lol. I don't know when it's gonna happen, but it's gonna be a party the likes of which have never been seen before when the Browns actually put together a playoff team and steal a Super Bowl one of these years hopefully before all of us are dead. It's gonna happen. Just not soon, smh.

Unless the team is sold, nothing will change. You don’t suck for 23 years because of a bad hire, a bad draft, a quarterback bust or three. The culture of the Browns is in constant upheaval and turmoil. And it’s so sad because there is legit talent all over that team. The obvious thing to do was let Baker play this season since he’s already paid and shown FLASHES that he could be the franchise. We know he’s not elite, but he’s not trash either. This was the make or break year. But are the Browns happy with a strong roster, a young QB who won us out first playoff game since the 80s, and a coach & GM that have been together for a couple years? NOPE. Let’s bet the entire next 5 years on Watson. And alienate Baker. And put the national spotlight on your team for giving up an UNPRECEDENTED AMOUNT OF PICKS PLUS AN UNPRECEDENTED CONTRACT for a guy most teams in the league wouldn’t touch with someone else’s “pole.” The TEXANS wanted him gone! The one franchise that’s maybe as purely run as the Browns. It’s unbelievable.
If the browns ever win the super bowl you have to wonder what the city of Cleveland will be like... people will be popping champagne in the streets, every adult making love, the citizens of Cleveland crying tears of pure joy. As a cowboys fan, I’ll be very happy for the Cleveland Browns if this ever happens
Mostlyharmless1985 no that is the Ravens you idiot. The real Browns are in Cleveland. The history of the Browns is in Cleveland not in Baltimore the history of the Ravens is in Baltimore. The history of the Browns in Cleveland doesn't switch cities it happened in Cleveland it happened when they were the Cleveland Browns that doesn't mean that history automatically goes to the Baltimore Ravens because the Cleveland Browns left Cleveland. Get your head out of your ass.
When the Dodgers left Brooklyn, did they stop being the Dodgers? No. When the rams left LA did they stop being the Rams? No. When the Raiders Left LA did they Stop Being the Raiders? No. When The Colts left Baltimore did they Stop being the Colts? NO! All these teams move around city to city, keeping their history and records, but *CLEVELAND* is special, WHY exactly? I'd ask YOU to pull YOUR head out of YOUR ass and follow the tradition set by every team since the 30s. You move towns you keep the name, jerseys and records. The *REAL* Browns are in Baltimore. It's EXACTLY HOW THAT WORKS. The team in Cleveland is not the Browns. It is an Unteam wearing pretenders colors.
Mostlyharmless1985 The reason why Cleveland has the name, colors, records and etc is because the city sued the NFL and Art Modell for the history of the franchise. It was a landmark lawsuit that set the presedent for *all* sports teams going forward. No one can ever strip the history of a franchise from a city ever again..... With that said, I agree, the real browns or better yet the successor of the Browns are in Baltimore. Everyone knows that, and accepts that. As a matter of fact, whenever anyone talks about the history here, there is a distinction made between the "new browns" and the "old browns" or the "original browns". With that said, the NFL had to promise the city something, Cleveland is a big market. If the new team was not named the Cleveland Browns, then it would have failed miserably (finicially), and honestly many people would have probably died. Seriously, it was that bad. Art Modell was so hated he could not return to the city. People threatened him and his family, even decades later. When he finally died, the city celebrated his death, and people defaced his head stone. They had to put a police officer at the graveyard to stop it. He is so hated still to this day that he has not been put into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton Ohio (which is like Cleveland's backyard), and probably will never be as long as it is there. Even people who feel he should be in it, can't ignore what he did to Cleveland because it was the selfish move of a greedy man. Here in Ohio, football is more than a religion, it is a way of life. And what Art Modell and the NFL did to this city was beyond orginal sin. The hatred born from what they did, lives on in the children of all those that suffered. I know because I am one of those children. The pain both of my parents felt when the team was moved is still in them like it happened yesterday. A pain and anger like a family member was viciously murdered and the police did absolutely nothing to save them, even though they could have. So while it's easy for you to not care, maybe because you don't care for football, or maybe you're a fan of another franchise, until you have gone through something similiar in which you can relate, then you'll never understand.
Growing up in Ohio I always saw the browns as an icon of the rust belt. You live in a place that devours your soul and you root for the team that was good once just like you look at the city of Cleveland that was beautiful once and you the most commendable thing about you is you woke up today and went to work.
There's now another way the browns suck - as a result of the Bills getting in the play-offs, the Browns now have the longest play-off appearance drought in the NFL

Jump forward in time to the 2023 season they actually did pretty well with 11-6 and made the playoffs, but got blown out by Houston in their very first playoff game.
5 seasons later, prior to the 2022 season, the Browns have gone a combined 32-48, a .400 record, including 0-16 the year after this video came out. Following 2 more losing seasons after their 0-16 season, they finished 11-5 and also won their only playoff game since their recreation in 1999. They lost to the eventual AFC Champs in the Chiefs, then fell right back below .500 again. That 2020 season was just the 3rd time the Browns finished the season over .500 since 1999, and with the recent rise of Cincinnati, the Browns may still be waiting on that first division title in over 30 years.

This is a great idea, but I'm trying to identify what math you could run to simulate that. How can you predict a future that didn't happen? Not like the Kap or Bonds without a bat videos where it's reanalyzing stats that already happened, this would be a simulation. How do you factor in degredation of quality? Of how good the Rockets would be with him? You can't just redistribute points the Rockets scored for a few seasons, it would completely change the flow of the game. Maybe the video should be on his impact on the game both on and off the court? He singlehandedly brought the NBA to a huge emerging market and changed what an international NBA star looks like, while similtaniously dominating on the court and becoming more involved in the Houston community than any other Houston sports star.
It's December 2022, the Browns who a little over a year ago were thought to be on the rise after nearly beating the Chiefs in the playoffs have completely collapsed. The QB they sold their soul for had a passer rating of 53 in his debut against the worst team in the league. Now the country that once cheered them on wishes for nothing but pain. Congrats boys, you almost made it out.
The browns, throughout the entire Baker Mayfield era, had 1 winning season - they then traded for a man who allegedly sextually harassed 22 women to replace him. browns gonna brown.
2020/2021 Update: After defeating the Steelers, the Cleveland Browns have clinched a playoff spot for the first time since 2002. Maybe, just maybe, things could be going on the right track finally, but I doubt it.
The soon-to-be 7-10 2021 iteration of the Browns would like a word with you. At least there are many other teams they are currently better than, and they hold their own against contending teams now
To us true die hard Browns fans this is something we have been living with for a very, VERY, long time. We had a winning team. We had a contending franchise. It was stolen from us and replaced with what we have today. Every year we have hope that this will finally be our year to break out of this slump and do something, but every year we shoot ourselves in the foot. Poor choices for office, draft selections, and free agency. We deserve a franchise that contends at least for playoff spots. We have suffered, screamed, and some even cried. I will always be a Cleveland fan. I will not swim away from this wreckage looking for a "better ship". Some day we will be back.
We are the most dedicated fan base in sports - period. Once we win our Super Bowl in the next 5 years - my estimate if we maintain this current course - it will be sweeter than any sports championship any team has ever won.
Historian here. History is not a series of objective facts. History is an interpretation of historical data and documents, often documents that contradict each other. But every historical document agrees that the Cleveland Browns as of 2022 still are objectively horrible.
Andrew Berry's first offseason acquisitions were okay. His second offseason was not good, and his most recent ruined the browns for the next twenty years.
This video just gets better every season. At the start of the 2019-2020 season there was serious consideration for the browns to be playoff contenders. They are currently 6-8. Their last two games are against the ravens, who have clinched the division, and the the bengals, the worst team in the nfl. Their last two games are meaningless. At best the browns can finish 8-8 their best record since 2007. Realistically they will finish 7-9. Another losing record. There is no escape from The Mistake on the Lake.
And it's repeating itself going into 2020, in my circle of online friends there's a lot of people thinking the Browns are legit contenders, seemingly forgetting how this goes no matter how much I repeat it - these are the Browns, losing is all they'll do because losing is all that they know.
IF YOURE READING THIS IN JUNE 2022- let’s make this go viral. The Browns were worthy of this video seven years ago. That’s NOTHING compared to how badly the team had screwed up with Mayfield and Watson. When it wasn’t fathomable for the Browns to get worse, they literally lowered the bar. This may be end up being remembered as the worst off-season for any NFL in history. Literally factually the worst. This could doom the Browns for the next 3-5 years, then they’ll be able to start drafting like a normal again. Talent will leave in the meantime, and CLE will be back to being talentless and aimless. It’s astonishing.
Anyone coming back here in 2024 begging for an update? The Browns almost climbed out of hell, won a playoff game, and then said, "Nah, we don't like this winning stuff. It's cold up here let's go back down to where we belong."
Back to this video after Chiefs-Browns playoff game. What a game but it only further proves everything in this video. Even Mahomes was out and we couldn’t stop their offense. I’m not mad, we will be back again.

And the one remaining stat still alive, the one stat that is still going strong even after everything else has been mitigated or even destroyed, is the negative point differential (starts at 5:40 ) . That is -15 years in a row- now that the New Browns have managed this rather amazing feat.

@@ChumblesMumbles 2018: Browns almost reach .500 but throw it away in their last game against their father (Ravens) that abandoned them. 2019 offseason: The Browns signed OBJ and a bunch of skill positions, setting them up to be the leader of their division. They're coming for revenge against the Ravens and Steelers for all the abuse they've been put through. 2019 through 7 weeks: They're 2-4 with 2 blowout losses that were worse than anything sustained during the dark seasons of Hue Jackson. Mayfield is falling apart, the trade for OBJ appears to be a bust for both teams involved, and Kitchens is woefully underprepared for Head Coach. At least you beat the Ravens, who are leading the division at 5-2. You're even behind the Steelers on point differential, the same Steelers team on their 3rd QB, no Pro Bowl RB, no Pro Bowl WR, a weaker offensive line, and a defense still developing. The amount of wasted talent is nearly unprecedented.
6:11 It is funny to hear that quote in hindsight, as it was half true. The Rams became Superbowl champions after years of prolonged success, while the Jags collapsed back into the basement. Team culture can really make the difference in the end.
A year after this video, The Browns have won 7 games They beat a winning team. (Ravens) They affected the AFC playoffs (losing to the ravens therefore eliminating the Steelers) They won when they were playoff eligible (they needed the heavens to move to actually make it, but it’s still exciting) They won their first game in 635 days on national tv (TNF) They’re further down the draft board at the 17th pick. Also the team at number 1 overall in the draft didn’t lose to them (Relevant?). Still had a coaching overhaul in the middle of the season and Baker Mayfield didn’t start until the 4th game. They have made progress since this video (and Hue Jackson being fired)
Still though. Pretty sad when 7-8-1 is considered progress. They have to nail their first round pick this year if they wanna keep trending upwards. At some point, they need to catch up with the rest of the league.
1994 man I’m just reporting the facts. They have achieved some sort of progress since going 0-16. I’d say being outside of the top 10 draft spots considering how horrible this team has been is pretty good. It might not be up to standards with like the patriots or the saints but I’ll take it.
Yep. For awhile, they were technically "in the hunt". Those winning streaks were awesome. They beat the Falcons, Panthers, and Broncos, which was awesome. Eventually going from 2-6-1 to 7-7-1 by the end of Week 16, which was an epic improvement. Of course, they lost to the Ravens, but at least they could finish off the season by spoiling it for the Steelers, which is a team they justifiably hate. XD
When the Browns went to the playoffs as a wild card in 2002, the Patriots missed the playoffs. They were both 9-7. Furthermore, the Jets won the AFC East, also with a 9-7 record. In 2002, the Patriots lost out on the playoffs on tiebreakers to both the Jets and Browns.
The last time the Browns won a playoff game, they were coached by Bill Belichick. It was Belichick's first playoff win. The Browns defeated the Patriots in that game. The Browns have not won a playoff game since.

When I first watched this in 2017, I grew an unknown sympathy that I never knew I had toward the Browns. Their history, their losses, their pains and struggles became clearer the more I studied them and seen what they've gone through. It's especially heart breaking that because the "real" Browns have become the Baltimore Ravens and because of this the Browns fans are living under the illusion that the "current" Browns have always been the same. As a football fan in general that is such a sad notion that I don't think I would ever be able to handle. So the fact that these fans continue to support a struggling team that isn't truly even theirs, it will always be seen as a sign of respect from me. Whether or not these fans will ever experience the satisfaction of winning a championship remains to be seen, but in my humble opinion, so as long as Cleveland has A FOOTBALL TEAM and that team has FANS, there will ALWAYS be a chance. No matter how small or unlikely that it may be. And besides... in 2018 I felt a ripple.

@raishauntanner4206 we know from the presidents shown in the 17776 trailer that Donald Trump was president in that timeline from 2017-2025. This, obviously, did not happen in our timeline, and as such means that the timeline divergence happened earlier than when everybody stopped dying.
And put the national spotlight on your team for giving up an UNPRECEDENTED AMOUNT OF PICKS PLUS AN UNPRECEDENTED CONTRACT for a guy most teams in the league wouldn’t touch with someone else’s “pole.”
The TEXANS wanted him gone!

Chris Kunz the browns have won the Super Bowl. They play in Baltimore.
Chris Kunz If you saw the Cav's party that is an appetizer to what Cleveland would be like if the Browns win the Super Bowl.

Jump forward in time to the 2023 season they actually did pretty well with 11-6 and made the playoffs, but got blown out by Houston in their very first playoff game.
Additionally, they are the only team to never win their division since realignment in 2002, since the Lions won the NFC North last season
While Burrow and Jackson reside in AFC North, nobody else is winning that division.

I want to see somebody compare Kareem to Michael Jordan. Kareem is severely underrated I think he should be appreciated more.

Poor choices for office, draft selections, and free agency. We deserve a franchise that contends at least for playoff spots. We have suffered, screamed, and some even cried. But every historical document agrees that the Cleveland Browns as of 2022 still are objectively horrible.

8:35 I fell out of my chair laughing. Chart Party is the #2017MVP
Damn Jon is a savage.
I'm sharing this my friend who is a Chargers fan to make him feel better.
And they can't even do that. 6-10 oh what they could have been.
Realistically they will lose to the Bengals. Browns will be Browns

We need an epilogue to this Chart Party in 2019 or 2020. #FeelingDangerous
It'll probably go something like: "The Browns were given hope, just so it could be snatched away by a 2-13 team that did what they never could."
The super down tone of the whole segment could lead right into an ascendant second act, which would be really cool, but it is the Browns so it might be more of a footnote.
Still feeling dangerous? Lmfao.
I mean yea, except the Bills, they have nothing but winnable games
6:11 It is funny to hear that quote in hindsight, as it was half true. The Rams became Superbowl champions after years of prolonged success, while the Jags collapsed back into the basement. Team culture can really make the difference in the end.
A year after this video,
The Browns have won 7 games
They beat a winning team. (Ravens)
They affected the AFC playoffs (losing to the ravens therefore eliminating the Steelers)
They won when they were playoff eligible (they needed the heavens to move to actually make it, but it’s still exciting)
They won their first game in 635 days on national tv (TNF)
They’re further down the draft board at the 17th pick. Also the team at number 1 overall in the draft didn’t lose to them (Relevant?).
Still had a coaching overhaul in the middle of the season and Baker Mayfield didn’t start until the 4th game.
They have made progress since this video (and Hue Jackson being fired)
And Baker Mayfield
XD
Sadness
The pats went 11-5 in the 08-09 season and missed the playoffs. Therefore the browns are better than the pats.

@@khamjaninja. "laying claim" or whatever means nothing. Modell moved his team from Cleveland to Baltimore and changed thier name - that's a fact and no amount of "leaving history behind" changes that. Thats also part of why Steelers/Ravens is a rivalry and Steelers/New Browns isnt nearly as much
Speaking on behalf of all sports fans, I give Browns fans permission to find a new team. This isn't morally right to expect such consistent self-torture.
Gedalyah Reback The shitty thing is I was born in 85 and adopted the Bills when the Browns moved. Steelers fans are annoying dipshits too.
Remember any time you wonder why Ohio State is so huge and popular that they are the one sports team around here that won't crush your soul.
As a bills fan, I disagree. I’m a glutton for punishment.
Bart Grady ooh yeah ur a bad bad boy bart
Never! We won't give in that easy!
Being born a Browns fan is like being born catholic: you either grow out of it and move on, stay completely committed and ignore all wrongdoings, or joke about it incessantly and only vaguely know how things are going
Here after the Browns lost to the Texans in the first round, after trading them a Hershel Walker sized haul and paying the Texan's previous QB 230 Million to sit on the sideline while the greatest rookie QB of all time carved up their fraudulent defense.
The ride never stops, Cleveland.
They were lucky to make the playoffs - the Watson trade will come to a fore in a couple of years
@@AlonsoRules Checking in after 6 weeks of the 2024 season, when the Browns are 1-5 and have yet to score 20 points in a game. How long is Watson going to play at a historically poor level before this trade "comes to the fore"? Inquiring minds want to know.
The Browns now have a better record than the Ravens. It’s too early to call, but is this a sign of the apocalypse?
that was the cubs winning the world series
Calm down
After this video, the Browns would lose their remaining two games to finish the season 0-16.
In the following six seasons, they went 50-48-1, with two playoff berths and the first playoff win since the New Browns were founded.
Their 43 wins is by far the most in a five year period in their short history.
1999-2003: 26-54
2004-2008: 28-52
2008-2013: 23-57
2014-2018: 18-61-1
2019-2023: 43-40
It took 81 games from 2019-2023 for the Browns to win 43 of them. In the previous 163 spanning 2007-2019, they won just 42.
In 2020 we lived in hell, but it turns out it was the Browns natural territory...
Yooo this explains so much
Even with a solid 11-5 record, the Browns still managed to have a negative point differential this season
boy oh bois
This was honestly so depressing and I’m not a browns fan
I'm a Browns fan and it was hard to watch :(
Well you can wash your tears away, because WE GOT BAKER
Thank you for making one about Cleveland we have been so hurt in this city and I love we are finally getting some lime light!
And this was worse than hell
@@mattyice615 before watching the video: "Oh look, someone is making a video about my team. I am happy about this"
The same matty after watching the video: "I am no longer happy about this. In fact, I am infinite sadness and will never know happiness again in my life."
Hawk one nailed it 😂
With the Lions winning the NFC North in 2023, the Browns are now the only team to never win their division since the 2002 realignment.
It’s 2021
THEY DID IT!
I love coming back to this video every so often to see how far the Browns have come. After every loss, I am reminded of how bad we used to be. This weekend we could clinch a playoff spot, and next weekend if the Steelers continue to lose, the browns can win the division. I am so proud. Go Brownies!!!
Damn bro, y'all got some really bad luck
Why do I choose to be a browns fan? This is a question I ask myself every Sunday...
Brendan Moran You'll be a Cub fan before you know it. It may take 100 years but you'll enjoy it
MarloSoBalJr Except he'll be dead in 100 years
Aeddy35 no, when you become a browns fan you lose your soul.
Just don’t go to the games. It’ll turn you from a victim to an enabler.
Does anyone choose to be a Browns fan? I think you're just born into it and by the time you're old enough to question it it's already so deeply ingrained into you're being that there's no escaping it. And then you inflict that suffering onto your children because why should football be good to them when it was never good to you?
