I luv to hear a good bass player wail and that was wailin , yah this guy can play , and what a classic instrument , great tone , great resonance , great sustain , just nasty good , haven't had a thumpin thursday in a while , and that was an awesome return , thanks guys.
Nice bass demo! Well spoken and well played. Very much let me know what that bass was about. Liked the fact that he picked songs played on a t-bird so as to give an excellent reference. Happy
Martin Turner of Wishbone Ash was a great Thunderbird player. He acquired it from Pete Overend Watts of Mott the Hoople after his Rickenbacker was stolen.
Martin Turner is the man. A brilliant approach to the bass combined with an excellent voice and a way with lyrics. Wishbone Ash made some stellar music.
@@sanddab Hey, thanks. I'll do that. Several years ago I had the honor of interviewing Andy Powell (a second time), and when I mentioned Martin's bass playing Andy said, "He's a complete natural."
@@deepspacetheater I read Andy's autobiography "Eyes Wide Open" and he referred to Martin's Thunderbird as "the Viking Ship". interestingly, he mainly used a Fender Precision in the studio.
So much better with a bonifide bass player. Ya killed it! Not one of those pick wielding guitar players. That bird is a powerful ancient weapon. I could keep that safe for u norm....😉
We like Greg, bring him back soon. Who, UFO and The Jam, wow.
Greg is the kind of bass player everyone looks for when putting a band together. Hell of a musician.
This guy understands what a bass should sound like!
WHAT... this guy plays Pete Way/ UFO and The Ox! Let's have more of this guy!
petition to have greg coates be a recurring character for GOTD!! we love BASS
I'm a Fender man through and through - but the Thunderbird and the RD Artist from Gibson are two of the coolest basses that exist.
No way this guy hasn't been doing demmos for years: Talks the talk, walks the walk. 👣👈💃
I love Thunderbirds. And I love watching a good player play one. Especially when I can tell they're digging that instrument.
I can call Greg a friend and brother I've known him for years what an amazing talent he is.
and he didn't say "all EQs at noon". This was excellent. Great all around video.
That voice is undeniable
Great bass and professional demonstration of its capabilities!
Mr. Harris, I was glad to see You !

Finally nice to hear a good bass player on Normans rare guitars or basses in this case!!!,🎸🎸🎸
WOW !!! This guy is fantastic ... Very nice job Greg
Love thumping Thursdays
Sweet! Well done and Greg should stop by more often. Cheers...
Killer! Permanent Thumping Thursday Host!
Lemmo’ s bassist likes the offsets too... the band name should be “Lemmo & the Offsets.”
Greg is awesome!
Totally Awesome! Norm should let this guy do all the Thumpin’ Thursdays! I’m sure he wouldn’t mind playing all those beautiful vintage bass’🤟🏻😎🎸🎶
Nothing like a little Gibson Bass magic to liven up a good week! However! Gotta do a Maton!
Wow awsome playing!!
Wow! Great thumping Thursday!
Jen, thank you for asking norm more questions. "You're getting better all the time"
Really nice! More of Greg, please! And what an instrument!
Thunderbirds and the EB-3 longs are my absolute favorites. Awesome playing, awesome bass.
Nice bass demo! Well spoken and well played. Very much let me know what that bass was about. Liked the fact that he picked songs played on a t-bird so as to give an excellent reference. Happy
Mike Lemmo combines generations. More of that. Btw. Norm, you're a legend bringing those good people.
So beautiful and thumpy!

@@deepspacetheater He's one of my favorite bass players. Check out his autobiography "No Easy Road". It's a great read for fans of Wishbone Ash.

Dude, amazing playing. What a great sounding bass
That was great.
Killed IT 🤙🏼👊🏼✌🏼
dabass hits like a groove! Awezone wow!👍🏽 🤣🧤
Great BOTD episode. Great bass and player❕
Had a 64' Thunderbird II. This one sounds alot better than mine. Sold in it 1985 for $800...at that time is wasnt very cool lol
Really good demo 👍
Oh yeah
I think this gentleman should start doing thumping Thursday. An actual bassist
Cool👍😎😎🍺🤓🎶🤘
Nice
Bass demos are always so exciting.
Finally a better presenter
Greg for Thumpin Thursdays!!
You know it's like when you say someone for president except this would be more important and way more legitimate
Top 10 contender of all post-Agnesi GOTDs!! Entwhistle and Wray!!
... and I am not even a bassist. (:
So much better with a bonifide bass player. Ya killed it!

Can’t go wrong with those Gibson Humbucking Bass pickups.

Great to hear an American's appreciation of the mighty UFO!
Super band!
Such a ripping track... Schenker just blazes on that cut, especially the live one!
Le' Go of my Lemmo
OverEnd Watts
Imagine Norman Harris drivin' up in a brand new Cadillac with Jay Leno
4:38 Woohoo shake that moneymaker!
"My Warehouse" Norm just can't help himself.. Bekins should send Norm a cease & desist....
Imagine what he could do with a Peavey T-40
Seriously underrated basses!?! The tone control design is brilliant
Norm looking kinda rough. Hope hes ok!
Noticed that too, plus he's raiding the warehouse for the good stuff...... Concerned
Did I just see a mullet?
Indeed you DID 😆
can I have it?
Is Norm ok guys? He seems really thin these days.
I was thinking the same plus he pulling out a lot of old stock and selling it off. Makes you wonder.
I feel the same dude.. he looks thin and pale.. kinda has healthy issue maybe.
Lemmo doesn't wear a mask when he plays... just sayin'
Lemmo is an employee, just saying
Didnt know Gibson made basses with nazi insignia on them. Good to know.
Enough with the chin diapers already LOL
Just makes for an un-hinged look...
