When Ruby approached me about doing this one, I was on board immediately as I knew it would be absolutely perfect for the three of us to do (and the thought of covering this one did cross my mind the moment I heard it in game 😂 ) We based it on the DE version (since there were a few changes from the original), but otherwise tried to keep it very faithful since the original track is so gorgeous....also I decided not to include any game footage since it would 100% be spoilery, so please enjoy the thematically appropriate palm trees and beachy landscapes 🤣 🤣 🤣

Ah I have to say, I compared original (wii and 3ds) and definitive edition (switch) ost, the renders are a bit different on this song. (my preference go to the original, but it's pure nostalgy ^^)

At first I didn’t think how a cello would be a good replacement for the oboe, but it has such a mellow and (for this piece at least) melancholy timbre that it works so well to bring a new angle to the piece. And your violin playing is perfect too, it sounds like it could be straight from the game. Amazing job!!!
This is my favourite area theme and this cover gave me chills up my spine.
