I heard this version first and thought it so moving. Then I heard the original by Kate Bush and I'm still not the same. Give that a listen.
Totally agree! Kate Bush ( the original) is legendary..And I give Maxwell big ups for not only smashing it, but also letting the Workd know what a huge fan he is of Kate Bush
@@Noloveentkaleb Because Maxwell's was the first version you heard.
@@Noloveentkaleb That's subjective. Kate highlights the tragedy of the song. Maxwell only attempts to highlight his own voice, with his unnecessary, cheesy, overused R&B antics.
@@warrenbridges1891 I don’t give a fuck
@@Noloveentkaleb Maybe you should start.
The original version is from Kate Bush....the song and the video combined will pull at your heart strings.....very powerful stuff.
This Woman's Work" is a song written and performed by the British singer Kate Bush, not Maxwell.
Beautiful voice!!! The only difference is the soul in this song.!!!!!## Maxwell did it 100% +
This song is beautiful
definitely
xavier reese This and "Moments Of Pleasure" are two of Kate Bush's most touching compositions
Maxwell is so under appreciated...my man has some killer vocals and a plethora of great songs.... shout-out to him
He's internationally Musically & Culturally celebrated so I'm not all to sure how you mean?
@@MrJmazing1 seek help....
@@MrJmazing1 You're right. I think he's over appreciated. His biggest hit wasn't even one of his own compositions. If anyone is under appreciated, it's Kate Bush.
@@theretrosavage Seek A DIYM
If anyone sees Warren's posts around, don't reply he's a troll that goes around hating on literally every video of Maxwell's this woman's work. Lol
It's amazing how people are ignorant even about the songs they like. This song was originally composed by Kate Bush, one of the most iconic songwriters and artists of the 80's, for the movie "She's Having a Baby" (1988), starring Kevin Bacon. And whot the f is Maxwell?
Maxwell smoked this record, matter of fact the whole Now album
5:19 We not playing with you 😂. Fantastic reaction!
Period. 🧏🏽♀️
😂😂😂😂
@@JayShara Should see the live version on your own time it sounds almost identical... But he adds more to it so you know it's live... Subtle but you'll notice
The video its premise is the woman he was in love with ..passed away. That was her presence around him (in the street and outside the diner looking in) and in his mind as he laments all the things they didn't do together.
Maxwell did an amazing job covering it the only person apart from Kate Bush to this justice
You have to watch the Unplugged version it's incredible.By the way great reaction!
Ive always love his music
Maxwell was great in this video, but you girl, MADE this reaction vid over the top entertaining. I smiled throughout the whole thing 😁
It's 6:10 am but I have to see more of your vids, you are sooo CUTE.
A Fan 🤗
This is one of my favorite songs of all time.
my fav singer
❤loved your reaction
Maxwell Such a Vibe !!!, got me two stepping around the crib with VSOP in my bag 👏🏾
LMAOOOOO GET IT THEN!!! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽🔥
That’s awesome music like his will pass on with the younger generation
Dwayne Robinson Just as the 1988 Kate Bush original was passed on to Maxwell. Prolific songwriter. One of Britain's finest. She doesn't get enough credit.
I wish you do the live version lol 😆
Good pick. My mother taught me about good music and Maxwell was one of them. I fell in love with a girl to this song. Too bad for me she didn't feel the same lol. Oh well, you live and you learn
Vince Castillo Good choice by Maxwell to cover the 1988 Kate Bush classic. Can't go wrong with a KB song. Been writing hits since she was 13 years old. Britain's best female songwriter.
Great song by the one and only Kate Bush.
maxwell exactly
@@tonyg.6148 he just did a cover, nothing else.
@@josefinenagy4136 yes and he sounds better than the cover we are going to agree to disagree facts
@@josefinenagy4136 also you know adele she sung this particular song hello joe sung the cover and sounds better she does thats my opinion so again to each its own just because you are the originator doesnt make you better
@@tonyg.6148 That's subjective. Kate writes and sings from the heart. To Maxwell it was simply an exercise in showing off his cheesy, overused R&B inflections. Just like every R&B singer for the last 60 years. Totally misinterpreted the lyrics so much so, that most of his fans don't even know what the song is about.
Funny reaction 😂😂 Maxwell was that artist.
Your right, black card revoked!!!
OOP
Comparing this to Kate Bush is like preferring the ELO Roll over Beethoven to Chuck Berry. Can't stand the hysterical, ten notes per syllable, false emoting. "Favourite song of Maxwell"!
My first time hearing this son was on Stomp the Yard in 2007 it's been one of my most favorites since
Anthony S___n I first heard it in 1988 when Kate Bush wrote it for the movie"She's Having a Baby".
@@warrenbridges1891 That's cool but were talking about Maxwell version
@@anthonys___n8022 Of course. So you were.
The most beautiful song ever made 🥺🥺
Literally.
by Kate Bush
T.L. Thomas Kate Bush has a bucket load of these. Not just this song.
The live version is crazy
You should hear the live version at mtv unplugged, it's even better!
Jayshara… there’s some deepcut Maxwell tracks you need to look up IMMEJIATELY 😂😂
1990X
Dancewitme- a little upbeat grooooove
and finally
All The Ways Love Can Feel, man said:
Class is in session tonight, show me the lessons of YOUR LIFE.
PHEW🔥🔥🔥🔥
Need me a black queen like this!!
For as long as I have known this song, I've been saying this woman worth 😲.
yougottobekiddinme Original Kate Bush composition "This Woman's Work" 1988. Kate sings from the perspective of the man. Written specifically by Kate for the 1988 movie "She's Having A Baby". Off her 1989 album "The Sensual World".
Got me dying not knowing the lyrics lmfaoooo
this guy 😂 I remember girls in school use to say I looked like dude
Video is blocked for me :/ But Kate Bush’s original is a masterpiece.
Beautiful song!!! I’m an almost 70 y/o white man and I know Maxwell! 😂
Pa Magnolia Same here. Song originally composed, recorded and produced by British musician Kate Bush, 1988.
PS
The MTV live version is amazing also.
Love Maxwell, love Kate Bush , so what Maxwell covered Kates song, both of them have deep respect for each other, thats all that matters ...
lol The original Kate Bush song and video for this song is so tragic. Maxwell's singing is alright, he's not as good as Kate, but the video is making me laugh the entire time. His face is in puddles of water as people walk right past him and he's swimming in the street with that sad face. lol
Cringe worthy comment
@@504YungSlim If anything is cringeworthy, it's Maxwells video.
@@warrenbridges1891 you tried
@@504YungSlim Tried what? To make another cringeworthy comment? In that case I'm happy to fail.
🔥🔥🔥🔥
4:03 all the guys in the comments bout to take singing lessons 🤣
Lmfaoooo PLEASE! 😂😂😂😂
Listen to the original. Kate Bush. different perspective.
definitely Agree Kate Bush original just hits different
ORIGINAL?!!? 👀👀👀👀🤯
@@JayShara please check it out :) its pretty good and actually the music video is so good too it was an OST to "She's having a baby" a nice movie
@@JayShara Yes, Kate Bush wrote the song.
If we are using sporting metaphors…. Kate knocks it out the park. The original and still the best…
Musiq Soulchild Don’t Change
Here is one for you: ZZ Top- Rough Boy :)
Can you do I will always love you cover by Josh Weathers. He kills it.
Alicia Keys, Maxwell - Fire We Make or Maxwell - Sumthin' Sumthin' please

Fire we make is my shit… there’s a video for that? I didn’t know 😯
@@JayShara listen to the original this woman's work by Kate Bush 👍
Nice reaction! You should react to a group called Pure Soul the song title is ' We Must be in Love' Its like a wedding song. Its a hood classic.
Damn that was me and my highschool sweethearts song. Not many people shout out Pure Soul. Good to know someone else remembers them.
Listen to the original Kate Bush
you should've watched the unplugged performance first which was a couple yrs before he brought the single out
Please react to Maxwell Ascension!
Doesn't surprise me; most millenials (18-25) don't know of any musical artists from the 80's or 90's.
Sometimes I shake my head at the lack of romance in the Gen Z generation.
I don't know what my teens and young adult world would've been like without the slow jams and romance.
You know how many youngings are walking around today because of dudes like Maxwell and KEM? 😂
Bryce Fryar Don't forget about the British composer Kate Bush, who wrote this when Maxwell himself was only 15 years old.
Auntie jay I like this song I have no other choice for this to be my fav song by him, cause R.*****y wrote fortunate so we can’t enjoy that anymore 😞
Also I made you your own original music for your page I would like to send it to you
You gotta Separate the artist from the man

@@cashiemartin9195 Aaliyah career is low-key ruined by how much influence he had over it. Age Ain't Nothing But A Number is still fucked up Forever.
@@tyqwanmills03 that’s a big fact, can’t even listen to michael Jackson you are not alone
This song playing while your wife gives birth and falls into a coma, that’s a moment.
His half black half Puerto Rico maxwell who knew
Paul Gonzalez The chick who wrote the song is half English half Irish.
I can sing to you for real
MAxwell came out before alicia keys
Kate Bush came out before them both as it's her song...Kate Bush is a genius
Eric Iverson. Kate Bush wrote it in 1988 and had her first U.K. #1 in 1978.
I didn't have to watch the vid. There was some dribbling going in
Destroyed it
Kate may have made this first but Maxwell owned it.
BS.
lol...he did a good version, but you can't beat the original, copies are just copies ...Kate Bush is a genius singer song writer
Love Maxwell, but this comment is so wrong. Kate Bush version is genius and not topped.
@@axreacts personally it’s about taste in style, I listens to Kate’s original recorded version and it was just different, not better, of course that’s my tastes, what appeals to you might not appeal to me, what’s the problem? That was my opinion, which I’m entitled to, there’s nothing wrong with saying anyone has to love his version better than the original. Stop trying to control how other people should feel, that was just my opinion
@@sexy_ol_school1101 I'm sure Kate doesn't mind. She's so gracious.I hope Maxwell is paying his royalties. If anyone deserves it, it's her.
White people will say Kate bush Black ppl say Maxwell the views say Maxwell. End of story.
SoulBrother69 Maxwell wouldn't be singing this at all if Kate Bush didn't write, record and produce it in 1988. He said Kate was "da bomb". But I suppose to you, he doesn't know shit.
Ignorent statement
@@kenturnbull5450 I guess to some people, bad karaoke tops songwriting genius.
Im sorry but this song belongs to Kate bush 🤷🏽♂️ the way she sings it just gives you goosebumps
