@@dj_paultuk7052 when I was learning to drive a 2.0 had a 0-60 of about 11 seconds, what they can squeeze out of them now is bonkers but in a ear to ear grinning good way! Whilst they say there's no replacement for displacement that A45 puts up a good argument.
@@Sly_Wolf_1 I still have a Saab 9000 Aero 2.3T. Which at its time of production (1993) was the most powerful production 4cyl in the world. At 220bhp. 0.60 in 6.1. Mines tuned to 310bhp so a fair bit quicker. 4cyls have come a long way. The new A45s to be released later this year will be 450bhp stock from an all new 2.0 4cyl.

Technically, there is understeer, more body roll and the steering input required is quite more around the corners on the Challenger around or any other muscle car than the A45 AMG,. Regardless, with a professional driver, you can still make it happen and this video is living proof albeit would not feel smooth and agile as an AMG or a track oriented car. The V8 is simply amazing but realistically, it guzzles gas and doubt it would make for an efficient daily driver especially in Europe where gasoline prices are more expensive than the US, where muscle cars and born and bred.

FYI, when you can see the speedometer needle you can approximate his speed. 100 mph is straight up 12 o'clock. Then down about 4 o'clock is 200 mph. I think he touched up to 150 if I had to guess.

Its not as bad as it looks. I've got one and I'm in Alaska, wanna talk about some angry roads here and there lol. Shes heavy, no getting around it, but once you learn the car, pop it in sport mode and she handles alot better then you'd think a car modeled to look exactly like its 70s predecessor would.
Those basically lapped cars threw you off about a half a second on each turn. They give you the inside line each time and you would’ve been at his door about 3 times. But that dip in the Nurburgring is what really costed you. Coming off that dip turn you locked up and his acceleration allowed him to pull off.

Telling you right now if thats a 4cyl turbo merc it's modified and tuned. Ive raced cars with turbos the size of my head and kept up with the 392. It does look like his cars fully loaded with at least 3people.. probably made a big difference
The Challenger has a child in the back seat AND and an adult in the passenger seat. Take away those passenger you take away the weight. And you take away the fear of injuring them. Did the AMG have passengers? No. Driver then has no worries. Challenger handled just fine with a great driver. Put a set of real tires(nitto, kuhmo, michelins PS4s) and the outcome would have been different.

@@mlunden11 I think that as long as the hp and tq curves are nice and even without any weird peaks or dips, it's "only" a matter of proper throttle management. More power means more speed on the straights... it already has "too much power" for the curves. A good driver can handle more power as long as it's delivered smoothly.
Engine sound is amazing. If these cars had good steering they would easily beat AMG. I had charger SRT and whenever I raced German cars, they seemed to have advantage around corners
Safdar Akbari their not meant to be track cars, but i will say they shouldn't be as bad as they are around corners. A viper will dominate the track though the ACR that dodge released 2 years ago broke many track records.
Only, in this video the Challenger catches the AMG in the corners but the AMG has slightly better acceleration on the straightaways with the >400 hp Poseidon turning and less weight.
Pretty good considering challengers and chargers are not track cars, never had any special chassis, all outdated, it's bigger heavier and unlike the Posaidon only Rwd
These "boats" do handle. Even in forza stock 392 challenger with aero,brakes,suspension,tires is getting 7:30 lap times!!!!!!! For perspective the Ferrari ENZO has a 7:25 lap in real life.
@@GokuGaming Sorry but Turbo lag has long been a thing of the past. Even my 1996 Saab 9000 Aero 2.3T goes from vaccum to 23psi boost in about half a second if at 1800rpm or more. More modern cars are even better than that.
