Really enjoyed the overall discussion. Poor Ferguson can barely hide his disdain for the American voter siding with Trump. Bad character you say? He resonates with the working class. We relate to him. We know that among our ranks there's a lot of unique characters. We look past that and to the what is deep within. Can we trust the person? Do they mean well? Can we count on them? Will they support us? That's what we value among our co-workers and we look for in those around us, including our leaders. We have an inherent distrust of authority and rebel against it. But the arguably dormant state of the working class voter is testament to their agreeability on many issues. But, they've just been pushed too far. Ferguson cherishes the establishment. He nods in approval to Rubio. He oozes a sense of them being the grownups, the serious people. What he misses is that's the exact reason the working class wants them out.
As much as I love this show, I’m shocked how out of touch Andrew is. The legacy media is done. There is a ton of independent, balanced reporting being done. Breaking Points, The Hill , News Nation and Undercurrents just to name a few. Get with the times folks. The legacy media did it to themselves.
I love John Podhoretz. He's the only one of these three guests I knew going into this video and it was really fun seeing him in a venue in addition to his own podcast. All three had some great insights and I really enjoyed the camaraderie of the three of them bouncing things off each other and Peter Robinson. Great video.
I was going to say this needs to be a longer format podcast with guests like this then I looked at the timer and it’s 1:17. The time flew by and I wanted more, heat one Peter
Excellent episode. I came into this smugly thinking I was going to hear more of the same analysis I've been hearing for the last week. Boy was I wrong. The insights shared were truly insightful and refreshing. Well done to all.
Not telling kids to work in Washington is wrong. I worked as a Congressional Intern from Cal the summer Nixon resigned. You could say I risked the fall out too. Instead, it was one of my greatest experiences. I witnessed and was involoved witj experiences most people only dream of.
Not so many years ago I was biking through a small, leafy suburb and came across a young family walking to shul. The laughing little boy was wearing a Spider Man kippah. I was reminded of those old paintings of families walking to church on Sunday. I was an altar boy in the Episcopal Church and am a late-in-life Catholic, but that child lifted my spirits and made me smile with gratitude and something like envy. What I saw was faith and hope from which flows charity -- the three theological virtues. That's the America I miss and there is no tech, no app, no innovation of any kind that can replace it.
I remember hearing about a Hispanic female voter being interviewed by a reporter who couldn't believe she voted for Trump considering his immigration policies. The woman answered "I'm an American.". I started tearing up.
I support Trump, even while realizing he's volatile. But I'd rather take that chance and support him with my work and prayer than accept the direction the other side is taking us.
Not a rejection of lawfare...? Seems like you're not listening. That was certainly one of maybe eight major policy issues that motivated Trump voters. Are you not interested in including someone who understands the populist support behind the winner of this election? Instead of the old paradigm of 14:26 liberal/conservative you need to start thinking in terms of elitist/populist. These guests are still living in the 80s.
Great conversation! I love listening to multiple points of view, and I always come out learning something new, I included this conversation. I look forward to the next!
I stand corrected, Andrew Ferguson is speaking up for good character in our President and those he appoints. Without people of good character the free market that Podhoretz admires is doomed to failure and fascism.
This has to be one of the most interesting and insightful conversations I have ever heard. Hoping the optimistic view will pan out, but I’m not going to bet the farm on it!
the guy on the far left with the mustache is REALLY on the "far left" - he hates trump and it's very easy to tell - he tenses up any time the moderator brings up trump. when he called trump a "consequential figure" i thought mustache-guys head was going to explode - you could feel the rage from him coming through the video........and seeing him letting his short-sighted, heavily-biased, ignorant, "tribal-politcal views make him miserable makes me SOOOOO happy! TRUMP 2024!
Appeals to “parts” of the population? On 12 hrs notice, 50,000 to 100,000 people line up at 5 am to listen to Trump. Ferguson is a moron. What is he doing on this panel with such mediocre political skills?
I think the quality of the sound recording, the clarity of sound, needs to be improved. The sound is too muffled to be easily understood without top-end head or earphones.
Excellent round table. Thank you gentlemen. Top of mind - The absence of information, dare I say real journalism following the Trump assassination attempts should concern us all. What really happened and why? The American people are watching and waiting. We deserve to hear the details now.
"he's already starting to over reach by nominating ... Tulsi Gabard " . Why is this over reach ? It's the most exciting nomination of my memory . Are you perhaps blind to your own partisan inclinations ?
I'm sorry. I'm all for civil discourse, but there needs to be some give & take. Ferguson's "He lost in the past and he'll be a loser again." What is that? He has obviously been a much bigger winner in the past so he will certainly be a winner again. It's just a stupid statement. He brushes off the list of things that happened in the first 72 hours as rickety causality. How do you not immediately say, "So, you are telling me that all of those things would have happened if Harris had been elected? I would say it is doubtful that any of those things would have happened. What say you?"
I can't quite come to terms with Mr Ferguson's attitude towards encouraging people to work in the he Trump administration. If you think he's a man of poor character, and consign the government to be run by him and only other people of poor character, aren't you willing the country to slide further into failure? Surely you would want him to be surrounded by as many people of talent and good character as possible, people that could influence Trump and his administration positively?
I’d always tended to favour a more genteel approach to politics - but, if we’re completely honest, it hasn’t been that effective in reducing government overreach. With Trump I think we will ultimately enjoy the smooth more than we endure the rough.
TH-cam hates it when I post, so I can't use keywords to explain why these guys don't understand the moment. Let's just say I'm an independent Stallone is right.
What has Tucker lied about? Asking seriously. Also, why so dismissive of Joe Rogan? He's a comedian who has interesting conversations with a wide variety of people. How is that worthy of scoffing? He's relatable. I wish I could say the same of this intellectually superior panel.
I'll accept that Trump is of doubtful character, but who are these "people of poor character" with whom he's surrounding himself? Just, wow. Vance is a man of poor character? Really?
The Democrats bet heavily on identity politics, which may have served them well in the past. But the universal experience with inflation nullified that strategy.
At the end of day, people are gonna vote based on how much green is in their pockets regardless what political scientists believe or how they believe they should have voted.
Very well done. I really enjoyed the show. I too often wish I would have better appreciated those faculty members who were part of WWII. I do however question how Andy seems absent of any criticism of character when it comes to the Biden's, Myorkas or Harris or does it only apply to Republicans? Thanks again have a great Thanksgiving.
Ironic that you have establishment fellows (the demographic that misread everything because they are so far removed from it) on to explain what happened and what needs to change instead of a cross section of the demographic that gave a landslide to conservatives.
Peter Robinson has quietly hosted some of the best political interviews for 30 years. Mr. Robinson, thank you for your service.
Really enjoyed the overall discussion. Poor Ferguson can barely hide his disdain for the American voter siding with Trump. Bad character you say? He resonates with the working class. A few weeks ago every Democrat in the country said Biden was as sharp as a tack.
Im done with never Trumpers. There’s been a realignment, get with the program.
Trump is rude, crude, crass, brash, simplistic in his rhetoric...and still the best president I've ever seen.
Love these discussions! It's an intellectual joy to listen to them. Keep up the great work! Regards from Switzerland
I love John Podhoretz. He's the only one of these three guests I knew going into this video and it was really fun seeing him in a venue in addition to his own podcast. All three had some great insights and I really enjoyed the camaraderie of the three of them bouncing things off each other and Peter Robinson. Great video.
“We Americans are joining our own side.” So, so true!
What is worse? Bad character that is apparent, but has some good characteristics - or bad character that is hidden behind an "acceptable" facade?
I was going to say this needs to be a longer format podcast with guests like this then I looked at the timer and it’s 1:17. The time flew by and I wanted more, heat one Peter
Excellent episode. I came into this smugly thinking I was going to hear more of the same analysis I've been hearing for the last week. Boy was I wrong. The insights shared were truly insightful and refreshing. Well done to all.
I think Trump will be a more consequential figure in history than Podhoretz believes.
Not telling kids to work in Washington is wrong. I worked as a Congressional Intern from Cal the summer Nixon resigned. You could say I risked the fall out too. Instead, it was one of my greatest experiences. I witnessed and was involoved witj experiences most people only dream of.

The definition of bad character is “Bill Clinton “ Nancy Pelosi “ Chuck Schumer “ Shifty Schiff” etc.
I support Trump, even while realizing he's volatile. But I'd rather take that chance and support him with my work and prayer than accept the direction the other side is taking us.
If you read Pete Hesgeth Books you might not make cheap shots against him.

Which 22 year old kid is saying that DC is exciting and they want to be part of it today? They're so out of touch.
Very productive conversation. I came away ever so slightly more informed! Thank you!
Great conversation! I love listening to multiple points of view, and I always come out learning something new, I included this conversation. I look forward to the next!
how hard is it to understand that free people reject tyranny.
This was a very interesting conversation to follow. I especially enjoyed the intertwining of the historical perspective to our current events. Thanks.
California ex-Dem here that followed a similar path to Elon Musk. Center-Left moved and now I'm considered Center-Right.
Great conversation. Peter Robinson, I really like your style of conducting interviews and discussions.
Fantastic guests! Cannot wait to watch that one!
Much love, Peter. Yall are fantastic.
Fascinating and enlightening! Thank you for this!
Go Peter!
I stand corrected, Andrew Ferguson is speaking up for good character in our President and those he appoints. Without people of good character the free market that Podhoretz admires is doomed to failure and fascism.
LBJ and Biden had so much in common.
A "historian" saying the cost of milk going up 20% is a "one off" is ludicrous.
Milk will go up another 80% over the next 8 years, historically.
Please do longer format interviews like Joe Rogen that Peter Robinson referred to. If you have 4 hours of good discussion people will listen.
Great conversation. Thanks!
This has to be one of the most interesting and insightful conversations I have ever heard. Hoping the optimistic view will pan out, but I’m not going to bet the farm on it!
I don’t onow very much but I thoroughly enjoyed this conversation and glad it came across my feed
Very interesting discussion. Thank you.
John is the best.
I enjoy reading about history much more than living in it, God help us persevere. Greatly enjoyed this discussion, thank you.
Wonderful commentary.
Fantastic discussion.
Really interesting convo. Thanks gentlemen.
An hour-long discussion about the 2024 election and Kamala Harris isn’t mentioned once. 🤔
I would pay to listen to these guys every week, just saying...make it happen.
The term Olsen is searching for is the "Golden Age".
the guy on the far left with the mustache is REALLY on the "far left" - he hates trump and it's very easy to tell - he tenses up any time the moderator brings up trump. when he called trump a "consequential figure" i thought mustache-guys head was going to explode - you could feel the rage from him coming through the video........and seeing him letting his short-sighted, heavily-biased, ignorant, "tribal-politcal views make him miserable makes me SOOOOO happy! The Big Sort is an excellent book! It is very much underrated imho.
Let them speak!
Love your podcasts. The boomer generation has evolved.
Interesting discussion
Appeals to “parts” of the population? On 12 hrs notice, 50,000 to 100,000 people line up at 5 am to listen to Trump. Ferguson is a moron. What is he doing on this panel with such mediocre political skills?
Have these guys noticed the moral failings of everybody else, from Biden, his Cabinet, his family, the media?
To say it is boring it is an understatement. Welcome to establishment!
Shoulder to shoulder... I'll second that...
Again excellent content god help us it just gets worse . Keep up the good work 👍
I love this discussion, it needs a further hearing before I can really comment on the invitees points of view.
I'll give you 'brilliant ' gentleman a nugget I noticed- the more educated one becomes. the more bias one becomes
I wish I could share this with everybody....Happy Thanksgiving
Great conversation. Still not a clue on my part what happened. 😂
I think the quality of the sound recording, the clarity of sound, needs to be improved. The sound is too muffled to be easily understood without top-end head or earphones.

Interesting 👍🏻
Always interesting to see that the never Trumpers will "never" admit they are wrong...pun intended.
That news host was in the military btw.
Victor Davis Hanson is the only person from Hoover that should be listened too.
President Trump has higher character than these guests on balance.
Andrew needs to get his TDS treated. Clearly it clouds his judgement.
Excellent video! Podhoretz did especially well.
"he's already starting to over reach by nominating ... Tulsi Gabard " . Why is this over reach ? It's the most exciting nomination of my memory . Are you perhaps blind to your own partisan inclinations ?

I love that you guys included someone with contrary views. Hoover Institution is great but gets quite one-sided at times
I can't quite come to terms with Mr Ferguson's attitude towards encouraging people to work in the he Trump administration. Peter is a great interviewer but he’s gotta stop talking all over the top of his guests. Let them finish their thoughts!
I disagree with much of these gentlemen's interpretations. I am much more aligned with Victor Davis Hanson's perspective, but I enjoyed the podcast.
At 33:00, Henry Olsen gets it. This is the third great American alignment. Meanwhile, Ferguson is awaiting the resurgence of the Whigs.
I’d always tended to favour a more genteel approach to politics - but, if we’re completely honest, it hasn’t been that effective in reducing government overreach. With Trump I think we will ultimately enjoy the smooth more than we endure the rough.

Saying Trump's DoD pick hadn't run a Kawanis is whack given he was a two-time war veteran.
Envy!
I think that everyone denigrating Trumps character are just clueless.
Yuck! Have to turn this off, unfortunately. Trump is a loser? Really? Your hatred blinds you, sir. Yes...please go away to The Bulwark.
Not nearly enough discussion about the debt, especially for those who claim to be "conservative."
"Politics is inconsequential" tell that to the people of Venezuala. They had their country stolen. Being good people will not help them.
What has Tucker lied about? Asking seriously.
Also, why so dismissive of Joe Rogan? He's a comedian who has interesting conversations with a wide variety of people. How is that worthy of scoffing? He's relatable. I wish I could say the same of this intellectually superior panel.
Party identity and ideology becomes more important as more people become "Nones" religiously.
I'll accept that Trump is of doubtful character, but who are these "people of poor character" with whom he's surrounding himself? Just, wow. Vance is a man of poor character? Really?
I mean, for real, why not make the show run 4 hours and let thoughts flow where they lead as suggested by one the guests?
That's what she said
The Democrats bet heavily on identity politics, which may have served them well in the past. But the universal experience with inflation nullified that strategy.

Ferguson ignores the reality of presidents who frequently nominate improbable candidates--hardly unique to Trump.
I think the election had something to do with Kamala.
⭐️
Please have on Tucker Carlson
Ironic that you have establishment fellows (the demographic that misread everything because they are so far removed from it) on to explain what happened and what needs to change instead of a cross section of the demographic that gave a landslide to conservatives.
He DOES feel APOCALYPTIC.
The T D S is prevelant in the question of character
