I've been running my TMaxx for 14 years. It still kicks ass and is on it's second plug.
This lesson is very good! I have a new traxxas .15 engine and I have examined the manual how to break in the engine. It is more complicated and needs time. So I have not started the engine for fear of doing something wrong. But your lesson makes it easier, but I have to agree that it is possible to cook the engines if we let them idling so long and that is the problem. The manual says that it is necessary to drive the car so as to let fresh air circulates around the head of the engine.
That ingine duet sounds really good.

Okay ive gotta question... I have a Traxxas Jato 3.3 brandnew just got done breaking it in, When i go it will go for a few seconds then like the Main drive gear starts slipping or somthing. You can watch the big gear spinning and when i stop the big gear it starts going fine again. ive took it too the Hobby shop where i got it and they took it apart and dident find anything wrong with it. soo what do you think it is?
what kind of truck is that with the body off?

when breaking in what needle shall i use to richen my engine out.?
You need to get way more heat to the engine when breaking-in, that means you should apply at least a little bit of throttle each 5-10 seconds so the engine temps will go up (200 F is good). He is right about the rich carb setting during break-in tho (NEVER lean on the first tank).
I always follow Traxxas break in procedures and my motors perform great. I keep them clean and store them with after run.When spring gets here I want too race not wrench. I have a Jato 3.3, Nitro Rustler 2.5r and Stampede Pro.15.
hi, in the users manual its recomanded to use fuel that copntaines 20-30 % nitro , is it fine to use fuel containes 10 %

I got an ntc3 team associated rc car today and was running very well, but later my car had stopped and the throttle stayed open and blew my connecting rod and piston. The rest of the engine was alright, the engine is a OS Max .15 engine. is there any parts that I can find on a website.
hey my father had USA-1 monster truck but in order to start its engine it needs a big motor rotating the engine so it has nothing to pull it or something to make it work .now the question is:we have to work it for 15 years or so ,so do i need to do the same method like he did in the vid.or just run it normally?

My caldera 3.0 won't stop and you have to be on the gas for it to run. Is the clutch out. Or something what is wrong.
hey i got a nitro rc car a few days ago from my friend it doesnt have the top so i dont know the name of it but i cant get it primed the fuel lines are dark blue and the fuel is blue so i dont know how to prime it and i think it is a 18 like the one u started so plzz help

What exactly is the purpose of blocking the exhaust? Wouldn't it pump the fuel anyway with exhaust uncovered?
more smoke will be coming out of the exaust and will spit fuel, if your thinking of getting one or you dont know about tuning, it should be set running rich from the box and the high speed needle controls it but you dont need to touch the settings till its broke in but follow either his instructions or mine which i dont leave it sat singing i run it round to get air to the engine. hope this helps

@symch plane engines are a little different with run in, but what i do is run 2 tanks very rich on the ground, and with each tank i will run it for a few minutes then stop it so it will heat cycle, and ill do that for 2 tanks, then i'll lean it off so i can do a few flights running slightly rich, then slowly tune it from that point on.

@person2000000 its spinning from the clutch engaging. get high RPM clutch springs and this will stop
dear alishanmao i have a nitro rc 1/10 track car and when i start it i leave it on for about 5 seconds and when i turn it off the engine is very hot and also my brakes dont seem to work please can you reply asap or anyone else who knows what the problem is. safe
