The “Wandering Wight” spirit actually increases your damage significantly more since it doesn’t have the negative of reducing your attack considerably like the “Top Takes Bottom” spirit.
@@jcesarrc2741 The “None-Able” spirit is easily the best for all out damage with the increase to Attack, Crit Chance and Crit Damage but you’d be sacrificing a chunk of mana. Not the most versatile choice.
A little tip if you get the free armor in chapter 6 behind the shrine location in the Verdent path and beat the game three times that armor will have your defense over 750 and with the extra defense curious you can definitely hit 800 hundred plus
I m on NG++ and almost to NG +++ now and the Wukong set at the beginning of chapter 6 gives more defense than the Bull King because at that point you get 15 stats for the relic at least and it bumps your defense like 30-40 more than the bull king set. And yes the Life Strand gives 3 extra gourds so it turns your Gourd into 10 drinks, same as the Mythic one. This build is probably the best in game right now in term of raw dmg and defense. I smash thru every single boss with it and it is crazy.
@@jbdewit9340 yes it is from the chest at the beginning of the game. U teleport to the first shrine and turn back and fly to the mountain behind u and it is somewhere in the forest. That armor sync with relic stats give highest raw dmg if you play glass cannon build. I managed to 1 hit most boss with only crit increase potion.
Dark iron with the yaksha set gives you more damage that the bull kings set. Yes you take way more damage. Im on my ng++ just started chapter 4 and im running through bosses, been using this set up since the start of ng+
@@channelgoingthroughdevelop1668 It also has Focus gain when you get hit and you don't get staggered at all. It's like a freaking Tank. Made my 3rd playthrough a cakewalk.

I’m ng++++ and defense doesn’t even matter that much at this point most bosses in the game would straight up one shot me😂 the challenge is still fun though and your damage at that point would be very good. You’re basically forced to be a glass cannon no matter the build.
I love the staff with full bull armor set. I used them to go through every chapter bosses and destroyed them. I don’t use binder but instead I used pluck of many after beating the bosses health down to half or even at the beginning to chip off half or more of any bosses health. Then finish them off with your tenacity of bull set stunt lock them with non stop strike. Just watch your health and retreat with cloud step to heal n re-engage.
Personally I still think the two best weapons are tripoint spear and fubans spine shooting staff. Fubans staff has an extra hit on charged heavies that can crit as well. Is very strong.
I feel more comfortable with fully upgraded Pilgrim's set with this build. The mobility + attack is just insane. I can hit up to 690 def max with this set.
I was on NG+++ before I realized I never did the true ending... I'm on NG+++++ and it is so hard, but I have to do true ending 3 times and NG gets harder each plus, moral of story do true ending before your first NG+ trust me on this.... and plus I have 5 curio slots I want to see if it go to 6... I'm on PS5
Yeah I just beat the fifth playthrough...and Im not proud of the way I had to beat the final boss... They need to add a difficulty mode or eventually inevitably the game will become too hard to play.
I did the same. I didn’t do true ending at the beginning, and got as far as ng++. Having the one mind option from 6th relic made it much better to get through ng+. Ng++ i used the full bull king armors and dark iron staff to blast through every chapter and killing bosses easily. On top of that, you obtain stone monkey which when transform won’t cancel out your remigration pill effects. Fighting final boss in chapter 6, you will need to use life saving strand in combination with remigration pill to extend the life of your transformation twice giving 4 chances to knock down some of the final boss health bar. You will have 4 lives as well to endure the long battle especially broken shell sage second phase.
If you have the gold suozi armor that you get from the chest in chapter 6 it increases the attack of this staff more than the bull king armor. Keep in mind you have to unlock all of your sage relics to increase the defense of this armor. I’m on new game plus 5 and my stock damage with this staff is at 242 without enhancements or meds.
For armour, try out the alternative Wukong outfit that you can find at the starting area of chapter 6. Increases defence with every relic ability activated.. it can get you more defence than bull king armour
Secret armour from chapter 6, all 6 relics with all nodes unlocked, dark iron staff, Increased mana curios x5, spirit that increases mana, pop spell binder then swap to defence increase spirit and prefered curios.. 350+ attack almost 800 defence
If you add the jade lotus×3 in your brew then drink your gourd to increase Def and increasing attack by an extra 50ish bringing me to my max 433 damage
The staff gives you roughly 15 attack damage every 100 armor, combine with the fact that the higher the defence the damage reduction grow slower -> don't use defence curios, just stack up offensive curios, same for spirit
Just so ya'll know. No build will work anymore once you reach the higher ng+ like 5,6 and so on. At that point its over for you whatever you use. Its either pure skill or you can start a new playthrough.
I love the Yaksa set for the looks. But I walk around with the Wukong set for the lore accuracy. Can’t wait to finish the 3rd cycle to unlock the Wukong stance.
You could also swap your weapon (newest patch) now for the one that gives you +30 mana then switch back. I get to 635 mana when using spellbinder. Wondering if it’s possible to go even higher than that
Gold button increases your atk rating at full health. After you unequip it the increasement is remained for 10s only. So you dont need to equipt it for the the spell binding skill
I think the better option is using the secret armour from chapter 6 and having all the sage unlocks so after new game plus 3 your defence is higher than the bull king armour.
question about perfect dodging. isn't it true that if you equip ANY bull king's gear, perfect dodging is disabled? or is it disabled only if you have the whole set equipped. I see that disabled clause in all 4 of them, so i assume that any one of them will have your perfect dodge disabled.
@Oxford King - In the Smash Tree...is there anything other talents other than "Quick Hands" that apply to Pillar/Thrust stance? Also do you trash kill in smash and then switch to Pillar/Thrust for specific boss kills? Thanks for all the great vids!

My play style uses the bull armor and black iron staff. I can swing my staff without interruption. I use pilgrim the rest of the time while exploring and collecting stuff
Why not just go all 5 curio slot with gold spike plate? Farm them at chapter 3. I have finished the game 3x with everything unlocked other then upgrading all my armor to mythical.
Any ending. That has no relevance to the hidden wukong set , as it’s based on all relics being open so any full playthrough counts. Needing 3 to open all relics option which in turn adds more defence per relic. Youve mixed that set with the wukong set you get that you pair with jingubang, that set, once three true endings have been completed will then open up wukong stance to be used at all times.

My opinion golden feng tail crown gear with the jingubang staff is the best and funnest especially after you finish your 3rd play through your able to fully complete your relics and it will unlock the wukong stance permanently for the next play throughs 🤙 not saying that staff not good definitely pretty cool and gonna try it with the build I have. On my 2nd play through going for the third 😎 epic game
Well, yes and no. It's conditional and in the empty shell fight, round 4, he still strips you of the stance so you still have to try to beat him with normal stances - and I have more trouble with his gourd-stealing @ss than with Erlang.
Anyone else have this happen? Right after beating yellow sage on chapter 2, my mana bar permanently shrank a lot and my mana is completely maxed out and I’m at level 271 in NG+2. Literally don’t want to play after grinding for that long cuz I can hardly use my spells now. This is some kind of game bug or something. Broken game.
@@blackineese my bad my friend, you can get that spirit in chapter five after the rolling section where after the ball falls of cliff you can go back and just suck up the spirit from the ball it’s smashed in to a wall.
Your damage is not that crazy, tho.... I would imagine with denial spell and all that defense you would be getting crazy numbers. Not so much. it seems...
You have to remember, the bosses and enemies are all a notch tougher each NG+ cycle - so NG+ they have more hp and stats than first run, and by NG+5 or so you can pretty easily be one-shotted for missing any given dodge, and they don't take much damage plus have more HP.
I run similar build but don’t use spellbinder , or full 4 piece, it’s not needed, just prefer having my skills to use and don’t like any type of build where you swap lots of items for benefits you shouldn’t have with the build your playing its to much effort and cheap lol and really not necessary. After NG+ 4 I’ve found skills to be way more valuable than just damage and defence really isn’t a thing at that point. Learn your dodge now if you plan of going deep as it will benifit you so much more than using a build like this which will indirectly make you complacent. No hate that tended just opinion, great video 👍
Allow a very different play style. I am a spell binder pilgrim set player and no body play like me I can tell you that. Not sure how many + I'll go, but no light attack means my style is relatively safe, we'll see.
@@henli-rw5dw spellbinder pilgrim is first build I made mythical as I prefer it and it’s again brain dead, not assuming that’s how you play it but it allows for very easy engagements with lots of out put after true ending to get unified minds for duplicates. Either way like you say it’s a entirely different playstyle, damage wise again you can get rid of pilgrims and go defence and still have plenty of damage which leads you to build in video while I play without spellbinder on that particular set. NG++++ is quite similar to first playthrough as enemies defo leave less margin for error. As long as we all have fun I think all builds are a matter of preference and playstyle rather than good or bad.
@@llvllercyplays8545 I pretty much only used charged attacks. I try to hold charges with perfect dodge. I dump focus at 3, rinse and repeat. Might be more common then I think it is, but pretty much only works with pilgrim since it boost charging speed and you can dodge more attacks without trying a perfect dodge. The game becomes a perfect dodge practice.
@@henli-rw5dw yer it is very common an can be done with any set, I do the same thing now using 3 piece bull and 1 piece ochre (arms) for the extra crit chance on focus point consumption. Its a decent balance and haven’t had need to switch just yet. 👍

NG+ really does have the most OP sets out there, high defense and high attack all in one.
Until you reach higher ng+ and it looses all its worth.

Fully upgraded, Wandering Wight spirit gives 30 defense. I assume Top Takes Bottom also gives more than 30 when upgraded.

Also gets kicked out of attack animations so much that it becomes a glasshouse. You get one shot even by minibosses.

U must be doing something wrong. I’m on ng+2, and only have 3 mana increasing curios, and I have 369 attack and 801 defense..

Ng+4 was hard, I recommend the golden embroidered set and stun locking Broken shell second phase with mana bat

There is a Set # that states the removal of perfect dodging when equipping a certain amount of the Bull King's Gear.
I am spell binder too. But I use pilgrim and fuban. Will try iron staff, but probably won't work well with pilgrim.
Why didn’t you equip three gold spike plates instead of the jar? It gives more defense

This build solely relies on the medicines and spell binder if not ur crit chance and crit damage percentages will be below 20% and 180%

Qing Tian Gourd plue Boshan Censor gives crazy damage reduction.

Yes no thats a wrong translation its the opposite its when your health is above 50% that the arrmor effects work

Might be more common then I think it is, but pretty much only works with pilgrim since it boost charging speed and you can dodge more attacks without trying a perfect dodge. The game becomes a perfect dodge practice.
@@henli-rw5dw yer it is very common an can be done with any set, I do the same thing now using 3 piece bull and 1 piece ochre (arms) for the extra crit chance on focus point consumption. Its a decent balance and haven’t had need to switch just yet. 👍
