Mike Vernon anecdote: around 1980 I got hold of Mike Vernon on the phone and bemoaned the fact that I couldn't get hold of any of Martha Velez/Champion Jack Dupress stuff featuring my hero Paul Kossoff. He said, "Okay, as it's Koss, send me a cassette." I sent it, and it came back with all the stuff I wanted plus an MV song My Say Blues featuring Koss. That's the sort of kindness you don't forget - what a great guy. He actually sound a bit like Champion Jack Dupree at the beginning of this. :)
