- This week we leave the bitumen and trade it in for a 4WD track, making a big mistake by going down a track a caravan should NOT go down! We then follow it up by crossing the border of Victoria into South Australia heading to the beautiful Ewen Ponds.

Not sure what the point was to take that tight track. I thought there might be a great campsite at the end of it but it just joined on to a main dirt road. Short cut?? Anyway, loved the episode.
Sometimes I ask the same thing Jason! 😂 Nah, the plan was to try and take a short cut to SA but it didn’t quite work out for us. All part of the adventure though! 🙌🏼
Grab yourself a DJI Action 4 they are amazing compared to the GoPro we are very happy with ours.

Looking at google maps I can't see why you needed to go offroad to get to Ewens Ponds Conservation Park.
Oh sorry, we were actually still in Victoria for that section. We just had a couple of days off between filming but desperately wanted to share the Ewen ponds footage!!

That pond was epic have to make sure we visit there. Man the extra height of a non-pop top van really showed on this episode. Re GoPro agree they are rubbish get yourself some DJI Osmo’s far superior and don’t hover heat etc.

try the DJI Action 4 ... i have a 3 and it has not played up at all even sitting on the dash in full sun... just yesterday it was sitting on the motor when i started it, the poor thing fell down on top of the exhaust manifold, it was still filming 20 minutes later when i started looking for it after i remembered where i had left it.
Where was that place guys, also, I have a DJI osmo, shits on gopro, I gave up on gopro at No 7

You need to change your equipment to DJI action cameras end of your dramas no overheating no corrupted sd cards no stop recording with no reason
Good job in clearing the track its needed and the rangers cant get to all of them fast enough.

Those go pros are just doing what go pros do,,,, consider the insta360 range of cams, I use the oners and can't fault it 🫰
Lil's still tripping out on her runner's high , I'd be dead . I got a flat tire on my Bike 5 miles from home the other day had to walk it back slept for 10 hours that night & could hardly move the next day { I am 61 } 🙂

Yeah, exactly what I thought as soon as they revealed the new van coz had the same regrets when I got a bigger van. I didn't want to be negative so I've left it for you ha ha
Every van has its pros and cons! Absolutely loving the van overall, it’s been the best thing having so much inside space.
@@lilandjake we downsized from a 18.6 to a Alpine 16” with the same battery and solar as you have so we could go to more places. Happy for you both and I’m not in your position of travelling full time .
Well done you two, that tree moved no worries. I thought you wouldn’t go down narrow paths with your lovely new van but silly me of cause nothing has changed which is great🥴🥴. That was a bloody big snake guy’s hope you had shoes on Jake. That Ford Ranger does surprise me as it gets through most things when others fail😂😂. Hey lil and Jake when you went to Ewens ponds ( it is just beautiful under the water my happy place) after ponds, did you check out Little Blue lake. Did you jump in from the cliff top?
We went to robe as well a few weeks back, it is a pretty place.

It always sucks christening a vehicle but at least it's done now and you can enjoy your new caravan. I always feel that way with my cars and vans but we know that bush pinstripes are inevitable.

I’m still loving the fact you got a new caravan and we can still watch your adventures 👏👏👏😁. Once again an amazing little teaser of what’s to come 😊. Can’t wait. Safe travels.
My son and his GF were there a few days ago and said it was epic. He said he would have paid 3 times the price for the experience. That "damage" is nothing!!! We had our maiden voyage in the brand new van and clipped a new 4x4 at St Marys. No damage to our van, but ripped the front driver's side panel of his ute. We stopped for a coffee. The coffee was terrible to boot!! Lesson learnt. Dont turn too tightly in a restricted spot. Keep up the great work guys. I look forward to your weekly posts.

Looks like you are missing the cowling that sits over that gap in front of the radiator. I believe it directs all the air to pass through your radiator and keeps your water and oil temps just that bit cooler when you are moving.

Tree trunk protector? On a dead tree?
I was up working near Coober Pedy when I said to my com worker that I would go up ahead and clear the track and I came across a tree that was fallen across the track, so I picked it up and pushed it to the side when I saw the grass move, I looked over and saw a King Brown Snake that was about 1.5 meters in length and we just had a mouse plague and it was well fed 😮

🚁 I've heard of numerous issues with GoPro. I'd move away from using them if you can afford it as there are much better systems on the market now. Nice episode Lil and Jake! Great to see you guys off road again and forging ahead with the new caravan. You still haven't told us how the new bed is and are you sleeping better without the pull out mattress? A simple buff will remove most of those scratches Jake! How cold was the water? Keep up the good work!

Yeah, i agree, lots of troubles with GoPro!! Will have to look into to some alternatives. Absolutely LOVING the new bed set up, super comfy, might get a topper at some stage in the future. Water was sooooo cold! 🥶

I get Jake wants to do "off road" but maybe just not fire tracks with that caravan. 😊 I must be old fashioned because if i just spent $100,000 + on a new caravan - I wouldnt want to instantly devalue it like that.
