  • The Philippines is about to a boom in its foreign investments, driven by the newly enacted law that fully allows foreign entities to own a business in the Philippines fully! A law that stopped them from owning no more than 40% of a business in the past decades.

The 60-40 rule is such a bummer. It has been slowing down my country's growth for over 20 years now. However, even with over 20 years of this, we still manage to somehow compete in terms of economic growth in our region. Just imagine all restrictions being gone, I wonder what the growth will look like then.

Take Hawaii for example, native people can't even afford to live within there own Islands because all the lands, resorts and other businesses are owned by by foreign investors.

This information is about 1 month old so I don't know if the law was enacted yet, but they were informed that any foreign business owner has to invest a minimum of US$200,000 into any business they want to open in the PH if they do not have a Filipino business partner.

Let's hope for the best because I do not trust the lawmakers who made this law, to be honest, they all have their own interest in anything that will benefit them but not for the country and the people.
